Rating: Summary: Such Drama and Suspense! Review: "C is for Corpse" by Sue Grafton is an intense book that leaves you craving for more of Grafton and her main character Kinsey Millhone. Kinsey is a single, middle-aged private investigator. In her newest case, Kinsey meets Bobby Callahan. He asks for her help in finding that tried to kill him, and left him with a bad memory, unable to remember many of the details of the accident that left him crippled and killed his best friend. Soon, Kinsey is in the middle of three mysteries, and asking questions that may put her life in jeopardy. The suspense is so thick that towards the end of the book I found myself skipping passages just to find out what happened next. Compared to the A and B books in the series, C was the most gripping.
Rating: Summary: A brain-teasing mystery with a great subplot Review: "C" is a good brain-teasing mystery featuring my fave. detective Kinsey Millhone. She is as engaging and resourceful as ever, and not to mention funny. Her attachement and loyalty to Bobby was a great addition since Kinsey doesn't normal feel deeply about her employers. The killer and his motive was also shocking and the ending was very exciting and suspensful. The subplot involving Henry's girlfriend Lila was, IMO, better than the actual plot. It was humorous to see how Kinsey weaseled her way out of certain situations involving Lila and I loved seeing her and Roise team up. Ms. Grafton if we r reading this I would love to see more of Rosie. Some parts of the book were boring but still worth the time and money.
Rating: Summary: The one that got me started Review: 3.5 stars (4 and above stars being - usually - reserved for the really great/unique books). This is the first Kinsey I ever read, and initiated my interest in the Kinsey plots. The series is one helluva 'tell-it-like-it-is', Kinsey is a lovely character, and the mood is always comic-sombre (a bit down but never out - even while winning! noir style?). You can enjoy every book in the series - come rain or come sunshine.
Rating: Summary: subpar for Kinsey Review: A young man horribly wounded in a car crash begins Kinsey's third mystery, but they plot behind his accident is unusually thin. Instead, the book divides its attention between the mystery at hand and the romantic escapades of Kinsey and her landlord - which, while they are well-written and interesting, detract from the suspense and intricacy of unraveling a mystery. Still, the book is a good read for Kinsey fans.

Rating: Summary: For the Mystery Lover Review: After reading "C is for Corpse" by Sue Grafton, I made it a promise to myself, to read her other books in alphabetical order. I enjoy the mystery solving techniques of her main character and the bluntness of Sue Grafton's writing. The chronological order of her writing makes the plot easy to follow, therefore capturing even a person who is not much of a reader. Sue Grafton manages to hook you at the beginning of the book and keeps you in suspense until the end. Something that not all writers accomplish. I often found myself trying to solve the mystery with her and could not wait to see if I was right. I recommend all of Sue Grafton's books for the reader who loves mysteries and crime solving adventures.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding Review: After reading many books throughout the years, I have finally found one that is very outstanding to read. In reading many books, they seam very boring, but C is For Corpse is a very interesting read. It is part of a series that starts with A is for Alibi, and is currently at R is for Ricochet. It is a murder mystery that goes way beyond the normal mystery that viewers see on T.V. This book gives an in-depth look at all the people involved. From the sister who is either smoking, doing drugs, or drinking, to the actual victim who was committing adultery before his death this book has a wide range of people.
The part of the book that really makes it above and beyond the normal read is that it has real life people. Kinsey Millhone, who is the detective, is an average middle aged woman who is concerned about her weight, and has a polite side to her. She finishes the case even when Bobby is dead, when easily she could of stopped caring, and stole the money. She lives in a very rich town, yet she lives in a trailer park, which further adds tot the fact that this book is full of diversity. The only negative part is that there is too much detail, but if a reader doesn't mind an excessive amount of detail, then this is a good choice.
With taking this all into consideration, I would recommend this book, and give it a score of 4 stars out of five. It is worth the time, and I once again strongly encourage people to read C is For Corpse.
Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: Another Great Book by Sue Grafton. In 'C is for Corpse' our hero Kinsey Millhone is hired by Bobby, a young man who fell victim to a terrible car accident almost a year ago and has left the once handsome young man freak-looking. Bobby believes the accident was an attempt to kill him, because of a secret he knows. Unfortunately, Bobby suffers from amnesia because of the accident ad cannot remember what the secret was. Our friend Kinsey quickly takes a liking to him, but unfortunatley Bobby meets an untimely end. Now it is up to Kinsey to find out who is behind his death and what the horrible secret is... Once again, Sue Grafton portrays Kinsey as the odd yet likeable person that she is. I have always been able to identify very well with Kinsey Millhone and have taken a real liking to her. I can't wait to read the rest of her books!!
Rating: Summary: Grafton does it again Review: Going into the third Kinsey Millhone mystery I was almost certain that it couldn't possibly be as enjoyable as the first two. I guess I didn't really think that Grafton could keep it up, but I misjudged her. 'C' is for Corpse was equally gripping and fun to read as its predecessors. One of my favorite aspects of the series is the people that Kinsey meets along the way. Grafton's supporting cast is always lively and interesting - no matter how short their part. I would highly recommend this book, or any in the series for that matter, to anyone who likes mysteries - and even those who don't (I was never really a mystery fan until I discovered Grafton's books, so I'm sure anyone could enjoy them as well).
Rating: Summary: Each is better than the last! Review: Have read all A to M. Grafton improves her writing technique and character with each book.
