Rating: Summary: Change your life-really! Review: This is a great book for changing your approach to getting what you want in your life. When Rich talked about his clients BRAGGING about how hard they work and how little time they have, I saw MYSELF! When he described shocking them by not joining in with them and getting into a "martyr competition" with them, I realized that struggle is not noble, it is pitiable! This book has changed my whole thinking. Now when I find myself struggling, I use his techniques for figuring out better ways to accomplish my goals. The book is straight forward, easy to read, entertaining, well organized, and has great "Action Ideas" to actually get you using his techniques. It is unique in that it is so well organized that I can easily check in with my progress by flipping through what I have already read, seeing the highlights of the section, and remember the direction that I was heading when I read that section. Great book. Best "self-help" book I've ever read- BY FAR.
Rating: Summary: Extreme Success Review: This is an inspiring book! Especially enjoyed the idea that "you already have what you need to succeed." Concentrating on ones strengths instead of weaknesses is a positive idea to keep in mind. I bought one for each of my kids. Wish I had known these things in college!
Rating: Summary: Sweet Success Review: As a professional personal coach I found Rich Fettke's "Extreme Success" an excellent resource for tips and techniques for use with my clients (not to mention myself!). My favorite is his idea of dealing wtih fears that inhibit us from doing the things we need to do to move forward in our lives. Called "dancing with your protector," it's an imaginative and powerful way to reframe the obstacles in our lives in a way that can actually propel us forward with a greater liklihood of success. I host a radio program in Seattle called "The Working Life!(tm)" and have interviewed Rich about his book. I found him to be engaging and sincerely interested in helping all of us to make the most of what we've been given in this life. If we can do that--really do that--then our success will not only be extreme, but sweet.
Rating: Summary: Really Empowering! Review: What does it take to be an extreme success? Does it take long hours at the office? Can you have a life besides work?
In this empowering book, Rich shows you that you can achieve extreme success without compromising your health and relationships. Yes you can make more money by having a balanced life compared to a workaholic way of life.
Yes, make no mistake--long hours and relentless persistence pays off. But it does have to be at all cost? Rich does shows you how you can achieve greater results by letting go. By not working so hard. Yes of course you're going to have to put in the effort, but Rich shows you how to make it fun!
Another vital lesson contained is how to deal with fear. Rich as dedicates much time to work with people to break through their fears and go on to life their ideal life.
He recounts many personal tales of how he dealt with fear by embracing it rather than
fighting it.
And make no mistake Rich walks the talk. He describes in great detail how he dealt with fear in life and death situations. He tells how he even saw his tombstone (in the event of the worse case scenario when we was bungee jumping off the Golden Gate bridge) He recounts how he panicked when his parachute wouldn't open at 5000 feet up in the air after parachuting from an airplane, falling speedily towards the ground.
And most importantly he shows how we can use these examples in our daily life to be more courageous and take on bigger risks; to challenge ourselves to go to the next level. We all know that nothing great has ever been achieved without stretching. So read this book and utilize the awesome practical techniques and strategies to your own journey of Extreme Success!

Rating: Summary: Serious about improving? Get this book. Review: I've read and listened to MANY "success books", If you are serious about having a great life and being successful, you need to read more than one success book. This book is one of the best. Most important is that there is "to do" lists and blank forms that make it easy TO DO. The only thing more important than reading all these success books is to ACT ON THEIR ADVICE. Rich makes it easy to act, that is paramount on the road to a successful life.

Rating: Summary: How far can you get by going it alone? Review: Many small business people and managers I work with hold on so tightly to the notion that self-reliance and hard work is what allowed them to achieve their success. That may be true to some extent. It's also a big reason why they sought out a professional personal coach. Somehow, they realized that something was holding them back. Fettke shows us what they've been missing -- the ability to create powerful partnering relationships and collaborate. Fettke shows us how to develop key alliances and leverage the help of other people. He gets you thinking about who and how others might give you what you need to achieve more with less effort. There are many people who can help, certainly not just coaches. Almost all great things, and great people, are built with the help of others. The quicker one discovers this simple idea, the faster and farther one will fly.
Rating: Summary: Powerful -- yet fun! Review: This personal development book was actually fun to read because of the author's ability to weave captivating stories around powerful lessons for personal and professional success. At the end of each chapter there are several "Action Ideas" to help implement the lessons learned. There are also "Keepers" at the end of each chapter -- basically a bulleted list of the most important strategies from the chapter. I can now just pick up the book, flip to the "Keepers" at the end of the chapter, and all the best ideas are right there.
Rating: Summary: Clear focus, less struggle, more momentum Review: I love the way this book breaks through that old fashioned belief that we have to beat ourselves up and struggle to improve our success. That doesn't mean we don't have to put in an effort. The author actually writes, "There's nothing I embrace more than achieving something new that's going to require real effort. What I don't believe is that effort automatically links with struggle, which further links to negativity." Fettke goes on to say, "All struggle produces is a situation where the enjoyment is sucked out of what you're doing -- even if the outcome is successful." It's a refreshing approach to the old push, push, push mentality of many books on success. Extreme Success gave me ways to stop fighting my fear, I learned several tips on how to deal with overwhelm, and I gained new strategies that have helped me be more focused and effective -- not only at work, but in all areas of my life.
