Summary: Obscure and hard to implement
Review: I bought this book because it was forworded by Richard Carlson, one of my favourite authors. And yes, the forword is a lot better than the book itself. True, Rich Fettke makes a good job of gathering quotes from famous people about success, but he leaves way too much room to the extensive descriptions of his personal achievements. I don't really see how his experience in Benji can be helpful to me in the more common aspects of my life. Some of his advice remains obscure to me, such as "on the other side of fear is courage"; that's a nice phrasing, but how exactly do I get to the other side? Plus, Fettke uses too many metaphors. Some of the advice remains good, though, such as "create partnerships", but I think to whole content of the book could pretty much be summed up in two or three pages. I hope I don't sound overly negative, but there are success and personal development books that are a lot better than Extreme Success, such as "The four agreements" by Don Miguer Ruiz.

Summary: READ IT and USE IT
Review: EXTREME SUCCESS flows easily and the stories are fun. The more involved I became with the book, the more motivated I felt. When my fears and doubts popped up, the next chapter seemed to address just what I was feeling. I especially liked the section on overcoming fear by addressing it directly and asking what it needs.

I found this book on creating EXTREME SUCCESS through personal development, motivating, fresh and brilliant. I've given it as gifts. I highly recommend reading it and using it. As Rich Fettke suggests, find a buddy and/or hire a certified personal coach to keep you on track towards EXTREME SUCCESS without struggle! It works.

Summary: Extreme fun
Review: Have no fear: you will not say, "oh no, not another self help book." Not only is this a fun read, it is chock full of specific ideas to get you motivated. Actually it is okay, says Fettke, to have fear about anything you do. The key is to get focused, explore the fear, assess it more objectively, and then make a yes or no decision. So like any good coach, Rich finds a way to spur you to Action, the potentially small step that will create momentum for more change. What makes this book so readable is Rich's background as a recovering ADD dude who achieved extreme sports success. With ease with words, he manages to use great examples from his own life without sounding overly self-absorbed. It is these exciting stretches of his own growing edge that pulls you into and to the end of each chapter. He also selects excellent examples of his clients turning the corner on their own process in moving from working harder to working smarter. Though none of the ideas are particularly new, especially to coaches, psychologists, or sales professionals, the book is novel. It brings together the collected wisdom of many. If you never take a shot you never score. When it comes to this book, if you never complete it, you will never benefit. If you buy it, you will finish it. It is simple, sweet and informative.

Summary: Worth its weight in gold!
Review: Rich seems to take the mystery out of success that enables anyone to succeed despite current or past setbacks. I've read quite a few other success books written by the likes Tony Robbins, NLP authors, etc., and they are all great, but Rich has found a way for you or me to take those small steps that eventually become giant strides without us even realizing it at first.

By making sure that our lives are on their way being balanced Rich asks ourselves some tough questions (that are hard to answer sometimes) but really get the job done. Super salespeople ask the tough questions to their customers, Rich is no different. By being truthfull to yourself we enable the changes to take place that we want...not only on one level but on all levels. Much thanks to Rich for enabling me with the tools for Extreme Success!!!

Summary: A book to help you do the maximum
Review: There is a subtle but very important difference that separates this book from the competition. EXTREME SUCCESS is not just advice about how to become successful. This book offers powerful, specific strategies to expand current success into new areas and levels. This message really resonates with "high achievers", people who already may be very successful but want to find greater success, and do it with balance, focus and ease. Highly recommended.

Summary: Finally, a book about success that I can relate to!
Review: I have read Rich's book twice, and I'm still in awe of how his words resonate with me. The first "magic moment" for me while reading Extreme Success was when I began reading the introduction and realized that what I had been taught, success was achieved through long hours, hard work and struggle, was not the only way. I had been living in the "Struggle Syndrome," and I was now ready to learn how to live without struggle. As I continued reading, I began to understand that life's struggles don't have to make me crazy with fear and anxiety. If I, as Rich explains, "neutralize struggle, redirect fear, and stay focused," I can turn a struggle into an opportunity to overcome my fear and anxiety and live a more balanced and fulfilling life. And, I can honestly say that I have since been living by this new philosophy and it truly works! Thanks, Rich!

Summary: Save your money
Review: The author makes you wait until page 178 to learn that the seven steps are:

1. Think about what success really means for you. Determine what you truly want for an outcome in your business or your life.

2. See, feel, experience, and be able to articulate your vision as if it's already happened.

3. Look at what benefits your vision holds for you and for others.

4. Create your strategy with the mind-set of, How might I achieve this with greater ease?

5. Look for the highest possible return on the lowest investment of time, resources, and effort.

6. Be as aware and as curious as possible.

7. Be bold and act on opportunities.

Summary: Extremely Good
Review: I bought Extreme Succes in June 2002 just as I was beginning my training as a life coach in Australia. This is a very well written book which reflects Rich Fettke's passion and enthusiasm for life. It is upbeat and positive throughout. I loved this book and have since recommended it to friends and colleagues. Keep up the great work Rich!
