Summary: No Useful Information
Review: This book was a total waste of money. It doesn't give any real solid ways to help improve communication, and it's not even interesting to read.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A Wonderful Book On Relationships
Review: This book, written by a neuropsychologist, is just what you want when your life needs some assistance. It is written clearly and gives the reader a new tool for making relationships work. My wife and I avoided divorce because of Dr. Brooks' book, and I strongly recommend it to others.

Summary: It works...
Review: This gets a rating of 3 stars. I already had some previous NLP knowledge so the book didn't help me much. Its a good book to start off with if you are getting into NLP. The author does not cover some things...I felt shocked and out of place when I was in situations that needed olfactory and gustatory responses.

So, buy this if you are barley starting NLP. Find another book if you already have some knowledge...

Either way, rapport feels great when your on the same page with someone.

Summary: Reads like an infomercial
Review: This having been my first look at NLP, I can not comment on how this book compares to others in the field. The one thing that struck me over and over again is that the book could be reduced down to a pamphlet of 20 pages if you took out the success stories, restatements of previously covered material, and enthusiastic assurances that you'll wield the most powerful force on the planet as soon as you finish the next chapter. This book left me wanting more information, and an feeling like even this short book should have provided it.

Summary: Good Book
Review: This is a good book on the subject of rapport. However this book is really for NLP beginners. If you would like more information on NLP I highly recommend you reading Anthony Robbins best-selling book Unlimited Power.

Zev Saftlas, Author of Motivation That Works: How to Get Motivated and Stay Motivated

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great book!
Review: This is by far my favorite book on NLP. The author makes it easy for the 1st time NLP'r to understand and it's great review for the advanced student of influence. I highly recommend that this book be added to your library.

Summary: Got rapport?
Review: Without rapport, you will find it very difficult to effectively leverage other NLP techniques. Establishing a strong rapport with a person is essential for effective communication to take place. This book provides very elementary and very EFFECTIVE ways to establish and maintain rapport. If you are interested in NLP, read this book first. And as you read it, realize that the context of rapport is the foundation upon which the rest of NLP (and persuasion, sales, seduction, politics) have been built upon.

As a previous reviewer said, this book could have been condensed down into a phamphlet. For some people, a dry, item by item technical disection of a subject is what they crave. Yet others find the real life examples of how effective techniques are applied, to be very useful. Especially to those who have not quite yet grasped the subtly powerful way that rapport, or the lack of it, pre-frames their communications.
