Summary: a delightful story that touches the heart
Review: I read this book in one sitting before I even had it out of the store! In the short time it took to read my heart was reminded of the true meaning of the Christmas story. A recommended book for all who are willing to open their hearts in love for another.

Summary: It Made Me Want To Read All of His Books
Review: The Christmas Box was an absolutely wonderful book. I listened to the unabridged tape & ended up passing it along to all of my fellow co-workers, now it's the talk of the office. We all just sat there listening & even crying to the story. It was just wonderful, now I'm going to buy all of his books. I'd recommend it to everyone, male & female. The book was MARVELOUS!!!!

Summary: life changing
Review: This book was extraordinary! I could put it down! I read his other 2 books and I felt like I got to know these individuals personally. I laughed with them & cried with them. It helped me to remember that my son (who is only 9 mo. and driving me nuts!) is so precious and to treasure the time I spend with him- because it could be a short time! If you were to buy just one book- besides the Bible- BUY THE CHRISTMAS BOX!!!

Summary: I never thought a book could change my life like this.
Review: The Christmas Box is the most wonderful book I have ever read (other than Timepiece and The Letter, of course!). The story will sweep you away, and you will feel like each character is now a part of your own life. I have given away so many copies of this book, and everyone who's read it feels the same way I do. Can't wait for another Evans creation!

Summary: The true meaning of life and what is really important.
Review: I have known Richard since his birth. I have one of the original 20 copies of The Christmas Box. I have heard, from Richard and others, many stories of lost loved ones and how The Christmas Box has helped them. I offer my story of how I lost two of my children through divorce. I still see them, once in a while, but I have missed out on so much of their lives. The learning to tie their shoes, midnight comforts because of nightmares, losing teeth and scraped knees are as meaningful as the musical recitals, birthdays and school plays. My loss, the hurt and longing, at times has been as great as perhaps death can create. The Christmas Box encourages us to grab dearly onto our children's lives as well as our own and to live, love and cherish each moment. Thank you Rick for helping me to remember what is most important in this life.

Summary: Highly, greatly, horrifically over-rated
Review: What a truly awful example of overwrought, maudlin, sentimental writing. It was a waste of 45 minutes to read it. It was dismaying to learn from the back cover that "(h)e is currently working on his next novel." We don't need more of this...

Summary: What a disappointment!!!
Review: I used to think that best-sellers must be worth reading since they are, after all, best-sellers. But I think I've finally learned my lesson . . . the hard way. This book is so disappointing! Not solely because it's poorly written, but because it's making so much money and it's so ordinary, so lackluster, so . . . boring. What is it about books like this one, Waller's The Bridges of Madison County and Sparks' The Notebook that make the American public go gaga? For me, they're all part of the same genre: sentimental drivel for the masses. People, wake up and get happy!!!

Summary: I would give it a 100+!!!!
Review: This is the most amazing book that I've had the pleasure of holding in my hands. I cried, I smiled, I dreamed of a life so full of happiness and sorrow all in one. But, the culmination of it all is that it's a true story. It makes you think if only you could have the same courage as Mary Parkin. Her story also becomes clearer as you read the following two books, "Timepieces" and "The Letter", and the whole, complete story of the Parkin family will make you cling to your own family as tight as you can!

Summary: Take an hour out of your busy life!!!
Review: The Christmas Box made me cry. I did it and I am glad. I am glad because with the commercialism of Christmas bombarding me, the difficulty of reminding the kids what it is really about and running around like a chicken with her head cut of, I too need reminding that it is the birth of Christ. God so loved his children that he sent baby Jesus to lead us back to him. A great book and the trilogy would be a welcome gift.

Summary: A gift to the next generation.
Review: This story weaves a web of the strongest human emotions. It's a lesson in the value of family, dignity, loyalty, and service to others. Hard work, and looking out for the other guy shines so bright and clear. The several ways it is printed, from paper back to deluxe edition, makes this book a great gift that keeps giving anytime someone picks it up to read
