Summary: The Christmas Box
Review: This was the most inspiring, heartfelt book that I have ever read. I cried like a baby. I bought many copies to send as Christmas gifts to family and friends. Please buy this book. It will give you a different outlook on Christmas and life!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Must Have
Review: For those reviewers that have given this book 1 star or have thought this was a waste of time to read, write or buy, remember this: The story wasn't what was important, but the message. The author never meant for this to be published. If you knew the story, behind the story, you'd know that there is much more going on than just a small little book making it big. This book (and series) is for the stricktly for the heart. Try softening yours.

Summary: A nice story, but doesn't merit a whole book.
Review: This is a nice short story, but it doesn't stand alone as a book. I found the story predictable and sentimental, but still enjoyable enough to read. It's worth spending the hour or so it takes to read it, but I'm glad I just borrowed it from the library.

Summary: Beautiful Christmas Story! True Classic!
Review: I purchased this book so that every Christmas we can read the touching story. My extended family and friends will be receiving copies this Christmas. The whole series of The Christmas Box is a heartwarming tale. I read each book in 2 days. The books were hard to put down once I got started.

Summary: A wonderful story
Review: This is a wonderful touching story about the most important thing in our time - about love. It is really true that in our hectic time we sometimes loose the eye for the most important things. The old lady reminds me a lot of my grandmother who died 19 years ago, she lost 2 children. Whenever I read this unique book I cry a lot. For me a MUST READ. A number one book in my library.

Summary: A UNIQUE AND MOVING STORY!!
Review: When I read the reviews of others it's encouraging to know that most people have sentiments that can be touched by others. Honestly, not to be mean, but those who rate this book one star and call it "sentimental drivel" or the like, are obviously hard-nosed individuals who wouldn't recognize a touching, moving story if they saw one. It would be sad indeed to be in that cold, unemotional condition. This is truly a great book, and worth multiple readings--and keep the Kleenex box handy!

Summary: A touching classic!
Review: I felt that reading The Christmas Box could touch anyone's heart and bring light into their life. For me, no Christmas season is complete without looking back on the book and remembering the true meaning of Christmas love.

Summary: This book is a classic, beautiful story
Review: This book is beautifully written and sincerely moving. It did not make publishing history or claim the title as 'the Christmas Carol of the twentieth century' without reason. The reader who wrote that the four-year-old spoke in an adult voice clearly does not have children, or they would know better. I recommend this book to everyone who has ever loved a child.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Pretty cover & great opening conceal lousy book.
Review: The book is seriously flawed, to say the least.

First it has a 4 year-old girl speaking in the voice of an adult. Why? Because the author wants to lay the wisdom of a child on us as the central theme of the book. It doesn't work. Sorry, but four year olds don't speak in complex sentences. That almost ruined it for me, but I figured, go ahead, maybe it won't make the same mistake twice.

There are other events, however, that are equally jarring. I can't provide details because they occur at crucial points in the plot. In my opinion, it's cheating to use unrealistic events in order to let a story reach the conclusion desired. Such techniques stink and rob readers of their time spent. Puleeze!!

I happen to LOVE touching Christmas stories that are done well. (I was a fan of "The Waltons," if that is any indication.) I almost threw this book across the room after finishing it, however, I felt so cheated.

Summary: Touching
Review: I re-read this book every year several times. I am a Child Care and Development teacher on the high school level and I firmly believe in the benefits of reading aloud to students no matter how old they are. I make time each year beginning on December 1 to read for ten minutes each day at the end of class to my grade 10-12 students. I feel it is important for the younger generation to be able to focus on the non material aspects of Christmas. By the time I finish reading the book to them around December 23, there is hardly a dry eye and hopefully a renewed understanding of what Christmas is all about.
