Summary: Very funny, a lot of fun, loads of smiles, but slow at times
Review: I am a pretty big fan of Ray Romano. I love his stand-up comedy and his show is usually just great. I love dry humor and Ray is full of it! Hahaha! I purchased the audio book version of this title, which is also read by the author; Ray Romano. Ray reads his book in such a way that it just sounds natural, not like he's reading at all. It made listening more like sitting through a four hour stand-up comedy routine.

There are a lot of funny stories contained in this comedian's work (my favorites are the ones about his childhood and family). Some of the stories will have you rolling on the floor, laughing hysterically. I recognized some of the stories from Ray's stand up routines. Great stuff! Unfortunately, for me personally, these episodes were pretty much few and far between. Most of the stories made me smile or at least chuckle now and then, but there are some long periods of snooze material. I hate to be critical because I totally enjoy Ray's work and he even shares in the book how difficult it was for him to put his own personality and comic style into writing. Since I do some writing of my own as well, I can appreciate this struggle. When I write, it often doesn't read exactly the way I talk.

For the most part I think Ray pulled things off beautifully and this is a great book. There are even some more serious moments in the book where Ray shares some cool thoughts concerning his thankfulness to God for the institution of marriage (of course this brief serious moment leads into another spiel of humerous stories). Very enjoyable. Husbands and wives will no doubt relate to some of Ray's comical insights concerning relationships and child rearing as well.

Personally, I could have done without some of the swearing (he uses the "F word" a couple of times) and crude humor in spots (there was very little of either thank goodness) but overall it was quite an enjoyable experience.

If you're a Ray Romano fan I think you will enjoy this book. Just don't expect it to be exactly like one of his stand-up routines or TV shows. Yes there are some segments that are side-bursting hilarious and those make it worth a listen (or read). I give it three stars, mostly because I wanted to laugh way more than I did. :)

Summary: NOT TO BE MISSED!
Review: I bought this in the audiobook form to listen in my car on the way to work and almost had to pull off the road numerous times from the hysterical laughing. Give yourself a treat! Buy it for yourself. Buy it for your best friend. Buy it for somebody that needs a good laugh. This is just too good to be missed. I especially enjoyed the audiobook because Ray himself narrates it. If you like to laugh, and who doesn't, you must get this. You won't be disapointed. 5 STAR PLUS! Ray, if you read this, I'd love to spend an evening just listening to you talk about anything. My treat, Burger King..........

Summary: I find Ray Romano and his book absolutely hysterical.
Review: I enjoyed Everything and a Kite immensely, because Mr. Romano talks about everything that happens to all of us in our life. He's just able to make it all very funny. This book is truly about real life and our ability to laugh at it. I could not put it down, once I started reading it. Very enjoyable.

Summary: Laid back comedy that makes you feel good
Review: I enjoyed Ray Ramano's book more than any other comedian's book I've read. It's laid back but still halarious. Keep it up Ray!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: One of those easy flow, quick reads
Review: I find Ramano incredably funny and his sitcom is one of my favorite shows. However, I was disappointed that the book was incredably short and most pages were spaced. It is an enjoyable funny ride, but the book was too short and I felt cheated out of my money. The publisher found every way it would to lengthen lists and stretch the contents. I would have preferred to have waited for the paperback verson. I felt I was cheated of quantity, and that there should have been many more pages added to the final version. The audio tape may be the way to go with this edition. With Ray reading it himself, his humour may make up for the shortness of the material.

Summary: Like the show, it's "not about the kids".
Review: I forgot to assume that this book, like the TV show, is not about the kids. I found the book generally disappointing and was distracted by the author's use of profanity.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Entertaining
Review: I like Ray Romano, so I was really glad that my mother gave me this book. Ray doesn't disappoint. Whether he's talking about marriage, his kids, or sex, it's all funny. There were a couple of spots where I laughed out loud, and I rarely do that when reading. This is one of those books that you'll be quoting to your spouse, "Hey, honey, you gotta hear this!"

It was a little slow at first, but it got better. His footnotes alone were worth it.
