Summary: Cracked me up...
Review: This is great as a light, humorous read! As a kind of "amateur pop culture critic" myself, I love to read critiques in general, esp. when a good dose of humor is thrown in. So naturally, this appealed...having not been to the related website, I can't compare it to that, but let's just say sudden giggling fits would emanate from my room as I sat and read the description of Styx's Kilroy Was Here concept and tour, the opening sentence of the Jethro Tull section: "That flute. That damn flute.", etc, etc....lotsa catty fun, I recommend it!

Review: What a great book! Just like the website, I can sit and read it for hours! If you love TV, you'll love this book! It also makes a great gift, coffee table book, bathroom read, etc.

Summary: jumping the whale
Review: While it's entertaining at times, isn't it ironic that a book about bad things happening to good people mimics so perfectly its targets. It's fine if you want to hold movies to an ideal, but shouldn't you strive for the same standards? Credibility is probably your most important asset, so get it right you whale jumper.

Review: With great anticipation I bought this book. Imagine my surprise when within the first 13 pages I found 5 glaring errors! I admit, my pre-teenage and teenage years were mostly spent watching tv because I was grounded - so I know what I'm talking about. Who edited this book? Who was the fact checker? I realize I'm not talking about an Atlas of the World - but if you are going to write about TV and the downfall of tv shows - at least have the characters or the storylines straight. For instance - BH 90210 - MR and Mrs. Walsh moved to Hong Kong, not Japan. Cosby Show - Olivia's parents are Mark and Denise (step mom) - not Sondra and Elvin. Andy Griffith - Goober and Gomer are cousins - not brothers. This is in the first few pages. This book is one the the continuing downfalls of civilization. Employ a fact checker - or at the very least - know what the heck you are talking about. Now I'm concentrating on all the errors - the heck with when the shows jumped the shark.

Summary: Jump the Shark "Jumped the Shark"...HA!!!!!!!!!
Review: You all know what Jump The Shark is all about...when good tv shows go bad. The first part of this book is all about that. But then they go into music, celebrities, sports and politics, which is just plain stupid. The reasons they give certain things for "Jumping" is retarded...like Van Halen jumping after Dave left...its just a personal reason, Van Halen is just as good and popular with Sammy. Its like the author picked his favorite bands and just wrote when he didnt like them anymore. I could have written a book like this and gave my opinions on things, and nobody would buy it. They "jumped the shark" with this book(HA!).... They should have stayed with television shows, like the website, and this would have been great.

Review: You've been to the web site, you've heard Jon on the Howard Stern show. Now, you can have all his opinions on when certain shows, musical acts, movies, actors and more "jumped the shark." The books is well designed with lists and pictures with hilarious descriptions. If you are fascinated with pop culture, this book is for you. Don't jump the shark - get this book!
