Rating: Summary: ALONG CAME A SPIDER Review: THIS BOOK WAS REALLY INTERESTING AND CAPTURED THE READER'S MIND INTO A WORLD OF GARY SONEJI. I LOVED THIS BOOK BECAUSE IT WASN'T BORING AND IT WASN'T UNREALISTIC. I TOTALLY WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE
Rating: Summary: ALONG CAME A GREAT BOOK! Review: Had a fine time solving the crimes with Alex Cross again. I could not put this book down, was up till the early morning hours finishing the mystery. The suspence is fantastic including a sensational twist.
Rating: Summary: Good B+ thriller, but not an A Review: Intensely readable (among other things, the dialogue is consistently satisfying), and Cross is a fun character to read about, but the book is a bit too two-dimensional. The killer is too giddy, the surprise betrayer is implausible, and the climactic fight is disappointing. Still, it's better than most such and worth a read.
Rating: Summary: An addicting masterpiece by the best suspense author ever! Review: This has not been the first time I've read a James Patterson piece. His amazing piece, Cat & Mouse was one of the quickest and most enjoyable reads I have ever had. Because of this, my expectations for this book were extremely high. However, Patterson exceeded my expecations in an unbelievable way. This is a true tale of good versus evil, pitting a Washington detective (Cross) against an abused and inteligent psychopath (Soneji). However, this story is not nearly as straight forward as one might expects, as it is filled with plot twists. Many of these revelations left me in complete shock only as James Patterson can. And although 500 pages may seem never-ending, the pace makes it quite the contrary. It is a must read for anyone who enjoys the suspense/mystery genre of writing, and a high recommendation for anyone else.
Rating: Summary: Ridiculous, implausible plot. This guy's a professional? Review: The characters are completely unbelievable and the story makes little sense. Like another lousy Patterson effort ("Hide and Seek"), this book reads like a bad prime-time soap opera. I'm so tired of authors who have an initial success and then cheat their readers by putting out junk (Baldacci is another example). The publisher figures...it doesn't have to be good, it just has to have the once-successful author's name on the cover. "Cheated in Los Angeles"
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down! Review: Nope, I couldn't put it down...read it in just two days, and that was during the 8 to 6 work week while caring for the kids and hubby! What a great book...thought I'd start with this one before reading Kiss The Girls, and I am glad that I did. Great story, plot, and yes I did bite my nails a bit too much. I recommend it, and can't wait to read the next book...
Rating: Summary: Awesome, a real page turner Review: I think that this is the best of all the Patterson novels. Go out and get this one. You won't regret it.
Rating: Summary: Very suspenseful Review: I really enjoyed this book. Patterson certainly kept me hanging on throughout the book, I had a hard time putting it down.
Rating: Summary: simply a GREAT book Review: What makes this such a great book is 'STYLE' - it's loaded with it. Writer's can learn technique, prose, etc but as far as 'style' goes, either you have it or you don't. I agree with some of the other reviewers that sure, there are a few flaws in this book but weighed against the other 99.9 % superb qualities, it's an awesome book. I wish Mr. Patterson's other books were just like this one....so silky, so smooth, such a pleasure to read...ps...I luv Maggie Rose
Rating: Summary: Nail Bitter, Page Turner....Absolutely Wonderful! Review: I can't say enough about "Along Came A Spider". This is the first book I have read by James Patterson, and now I plan to read everyone I can get my hands on. The protagonist, Alex Cross, is a worthy character...I rooted for him through the entire book. The villian Gary Soneji was equally worthy, a mastermind in his own right. Each detail of this book was well prepared, it didn't miss a beat. I literally could not put it down! I recommend "Along Came A Spider" to anyone that wants to be stimulated as well as captivated. Bravo Mr. Patterson.
