Rating: Summary: Great, quick read. Review: Yogi is still a lovable character to read. His words aren't just silly misquotes he's said throughout the years. When you read what Yogi meant by his short "yogi-isms", there is logical and heartfelt meaning behind the saying and the man. This book is an extremely quick read. Very humorous and easy to understand. Yogi is down to earth with common sense advice, (nothing you haven't heard before) and funny stories behind the sayings that have made him so loved throughout the years. A great addition to any fans library and a fantastic rainy day book.
Rating: Summary: A Fast Fun Read Review: Yogi surprisingly give some good words of wisdom and convinces us that there is more to the mental make-up of one of the greatest ballplayers ever than the quotes that he is known for.
Yogi provides a lot of insights to life in general and provides a lot of good advice in a book that I read in less than 2 hours. Based on the price it is probably better to take it from the library, than to buy it.
Rating: Summary: Wit and Wisdom abounds from this unlikely philospher! Review: You don't need to be a baseball fan to enjoy (and benefit from) the words of wisdom in Yogi Berra's book, "When You Come to a Fork in the Road, Take It!". Yogi explains and refines the numurous malapropisms that he noted for is this short and quick read.Without going into the many "Yogi-isms" found in this book, let me suffice to say that you'll get a better perspective on life after reading it. Yogi does a great job giving advice and sharing his worldly experiences with the reader in his own inimitable way. This would be an outstanding graduation gift to share with young people ready to embark on their own life journey. I think it would especially appeal to young athletes who may already be somewhat familar with the Berra legacy. Older readers will certainly enjoy the "Yogi-isms" that are used as the chapter titles and the numerous pictures from Yogi's photo archive. Yogi is a lovable baseball figure who has furthered his appeal factor by putting his thoughts down in words. Here's hoping that each reader will take something a little different from the experience!
