Rating: Summary: So Deep You Never Want to Resurface Review: This book is simply amazing. Such profound words of wisdom from teachers that span such a large timeframe! I could not read beyond a couple of chapters at a time because I needed the time to assimilate all the information. I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything and made it all a part of my life. The author is repetitive at times, but the end experience is still worth it! MUST read.
Rating: Summary: This Book Left Me Baffled Review: WISDOM OF THE AGES left me baffled. Dyer's assertion that this came from "automatic writing" is a tad unbelievable. I am a Dyer Fan. Honestly, I enjoyed the earlier books such as YOU'LL SEE IT WHEN YOU BELIEVE IT better than the "new age" titles of the past several years; however I have gained from some of those as well. But this one? Those of you who remember Dyer claiming the "seashore" story and throwing the fish in as his own - like it happened to him - when, in fact, it is an ages old story, will have reason to question the "automatic writing." There are SOME good things in this book - no doubt. There is also no doubt though that Wayne Dyer has made a steady progression from self-help to motivational to new age to the occult.....automatic writing? Wayne Dyer is still worth reading, but much of it one must, if you listen to his latest claims, take a lot of it with a grain of salt. Better choices: The title I mentioned above or some of his great audio series ala HOW TO BE A NO LIMIT PERSON.
Rating: Summary: Wisdom of the Ages - 60 Days to Enlightment Review: I am so glad that you are here Wayne W. Dyer to write with such wisdom to share. It helps to realize again how beautiful my world is.
Rating: Summary: This is a different Wayne Dyer Review: I attended a lecture last year given by Dr. Dyer; and, I have to say that I was impressed. I had read some of his early self-help books. While they were okay for what they were, I found them lacking depth. This was a clearly deeper and more spiritual man. So, I bought the book. It was likewise deeper and more spiritual than those early works. Dyer presents topics and relevant quotes from sages of the ages. He then presents his ideas, observations, and sometimes examples from his own life as they relate to a given topic. The book is thoughtful and well written. It didn't change my life. I'd already done that. I did, however, find the book delightful and spirit confirming.
Rating: Summary: Cathy Review: If you pick one book this year to read this is the one. While I have read almost all of Wayne's books, this one is by far the favorite of the pack. It should be required reading for all people who share our planet earth!
Rating: Summary: Read the title, consider... Review: how truth comes from a spirit of humility. There is the truth of theory, and there is the truth we face every day, namely to see ourselves in the mirror of our experiences and actions. These lessons aren't hard, but pride must be overcome. I leave it to the reader to consider what is more truthful.
Rating: Summary: A HIGHER CONSCIOUS AWARENESS! Review: Congratulations once again Dr Dyer for bringing valuable information and a new awareness into so many peoples lives. I recently attended a workshop you held in San Diego and found the experience to be nothing short of amazing! I have always been a fan of yours and would like to see you work more on stage with mediums like James Van Praagh, Jenny Crawford and John Edwards. It seems that you all have a lot in common in awakening peoples God consicousness.
Rating: Summary: ILLUMINATING AND INSPIRING ! Review: Mr. Dyer shows a profound respect, recognition, and understanding of the subtle mystical truths expressed by the many quotes he has used from so many renowned souls. There were many good ideas expressed from important sources, as far ranging as Cicero to Paramahansa Yogananda, a most recent world prophet of the 20th century. I believe this book will be very useful to anyone wishing to go beyond the popular and limited orthodox thinking in to-days world to experience a more meaningful life. It is also a well-written brief commentary on the many wonderful individuals quoted therein. Also recommended: AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A YOGI .. by Paramahansa Yogananda,............... God Talks With Arjuna(Bhagavad Gita)............... Man's Eternal Quest.......... Finding the Joy Within You...........A World in Transition
Rating: Summary: A real stinker! Review: I am baffled by the positive reviews on this work. Yes, I'm a Wayne Dyer fan. Yes, I have purchased nearly everything the man has created. Nevertheless: Can this possibly be the humorous, lively, exciting, self-improvement expert that razzled and dazzled us in YOUR ERRONEOUS ZONES and YOU'LL SEE IT WHEN YOU BELIEVE IT? Well frankly, my dear reader, it is hard to believe. Dyer presents his material in the book and on the tape as if you are attending a funeral. If there is one iota of enthusiasm . . . well believe me, I missed it. Moreover, what is this thing about staring at the poet's picture and then getting the true spiritual message or whatever. If this is the case then Dyer needs to be explicit; to explain the process and much importantly to provide us with specific examples where everyday people are using this and other techniques he is proposing. If we look at the aforementioned classic Wayne Dyer materials we are immediately struck by his excellent anecdotes that are conspicuously missing from nearly ALL his recent dry, boring, humorousless tomes and tapes, including the present one. As a self help author myself I firmly believe that an author lacking a big name would never have secured a publisher or an agent to peddle the present work. Dr. Dyer has implied that he has grown since those previous works. I for one don't buy it. If the old bubbly old Wayne Dyer of the 70's resurfaces I'll be the first on my block to buy his books and tape; but please spare us the meditation and the music.
Rating: Summary: beautiful collection of some of most inspiring words ever Review: I love this man. I have every one of his books. It's amazing how I gain a new perspective each time I read a particular passage from his books. What's interesting ,though, is that there are so many parallels between Dr. Dyers writings and the writings of the Baha'i Faith, yet it always amazes me that he never referres to the works of this unifying world faith. The Baha'i Faith is profoundly rich with writings on spiritual truths.. and it was all revealed over 150 years ago. Nevertheless, I especially enjoyed this book of all his books (well actually Manifest Your Destiny was awesome too!).. I'll always be a Dyer junkie!
