Summary: completely engulfing
Review: I must say I am new to Rice's vampire work. I have read her other books like Eden or the beauty series and loved them. I managed to find this book in the library and decided what the hell I'll read it. That was a wise choice. Once I started to read it I couldn't put it down. The more I read the more I was able to get into each one of her characters, especially Tarquinn. It did get a little slow in the middle of the book, however, once I got past that I was able to finish it in record time. The ending is so surprising and great that I read several times to make sure I didn't miss one thing. Even if you have never read any of the other books this is a great one to start with. This book only hints at the past and gives you enough knowledge that you don't get lost or confused. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Summary: Absolutely Blown Away
Review: I never got around to ready the books the movies I was so fond of were based upon. But, I saw Blackwood Farm in the supermarket, and I was drawn to it, like it was telling me to buy it. Of course I did, b/c it was Anne Rice. I dreaded having to put it down. It was full of everything: vampires, witches, ghosts, love, lust, hate and even sex. I bought the first three Vampire Chronicles and Blood Canticle immediately. I'm going to go back to the beginning of the series and read them all!

Summary: Utterly Engulfing
Review: Again, I'm spellbound and drawn into a world by Anne Rice's ability to manipulate language and craft meer words into a tale that is utterly engulfing. The only sorrowful part is that it has to end.

Emphatically enjoyed. Absolutely recommended.

Summary: Wow!
Review: This is definitely one of my favorite books; the moment I picked it up I couldn't stop reading!! I am surprised others did not take much interest in it. Rice did an excellent job in the description of her characters. I felt like I knew them! I am planning on reading it for a second time, just in case I missed some things the first time, I was overwhelmed with details! This was one of the first books I read written by Anne Rice and it got me hooked. I love the idea of Sugar Devil Island as well. As for Goblin, Tarquins doppelganger, I was very shocked when he would attack, and when i eventually found out what he really was and why he was haunting!!! That was very surprising to me. Although this book is somewhat long, in my opinion it is definitely worth reading.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: I cant believe people thought this novel was slow paced! I was enthralled from the beginning. I havent read Anne Rice for years because it got dreary for me. However, Blackwood Farm has restored my love for her work. Excellent, couldnt stop reading it.

Summary: no way...
Review: take a haunted house, put a charming good guy in it, create a loving atmosphere, add some lestat between the lines as the spice, mix it with a passion bounded love and there you have blackwood farm with no trace of action or philosophy. if you already believe in innocence there is no need for you to ruin your ideas of anne rice which quinn makes sure that you do. i already believed in it so, i learnt nothing but 20 different ways of saying "fear". by the way, our dear friend lestat's god-like image is not convincing this time having removed all conflicts he faces. the story is like the remains of a dream described in the letter of an old friend -lestat- , a dissapointing one...

Summary: Stick with it!!
Review: At first I did not like this book at all! Being pampered so much with the stories of Lestat and the regular gang, but if you are a true Vampire Chronicles fan, give this book a chance. Now, it has it's good/bad points. It took me 3 attempts to finsih it--switching from book, to audio, taking a break, and back to book. And it incorporates the mayfair witches a lot more than Merrick, so if you enjoy that, you'll love it--if you don't, please read on, it's still worth it!! Missing this edition would be like leaving a gap in the whole series! Open up, and get to know Quinn, include him in the gang, and you will grow to love him! Stick with this story, and as you will see, it will be well worth your while!!

Summary: Blackwood Farm
Review: I fell in love with the Witching Hour and the Mayfair witches. Since I found several books that followed rather disappointing, I thought I had another winner with Blackwood Farm. Quite frankly, I thought the ending was the only part of the book worth reading, and I won't be buying any more Anne Rice novels.

Summary: A powerful new vampire was born!
Review: This is a story of Quinn Blackwood (Tarquin Anthony Blackwood) who is one of newly introduced Blood Hunters. First, I wondered who the Maker of Quinn was because he was quite a young vampire and capable of flying! I believed such ability would come as the gift of aging process. Quinn was living with a goblin since his childhood. The goblin is the same phantom like Abel the wicked spirit who entered into the body of Akasia the first vampire ever made. The goblin got stronger after Quinn was made into a vampire. The goblin sucks Quinnfs dark blood after Quinn hunts evil doers. That action leaves many infinitesimal spores on Quinnfs body which is rapidly healed by the vampiric power. Quinn could not bear this relationship with his goblin and sought help from Lestat.

The history of rich Blackwood family was told in the first 100 pages, no, it went on nearly 600 pages! This history-telling is the theme of this book. But I like the story of powerful Lestat! It is somewhat desolating to read other vampirefs long story.

This book is also introducing Mona Mayfair as the heir of Mayfair family with Rowan Mayfair and Michael Curry at the top. The combination of new powerful vampires and old blood of Mayfair family cultivated the new flavor to the famous vampire Lestat series and proved the success of the Blackwood series. I canft wait the paperback edition of the next book!

Summary: Ms Rice does it again!
Review: If there are readers who believe that Ms Rice wouldn't produce another mesmorizing tale, they're in for a rude shock. Blackwood Farm is truely one of Rice's best novel yet. Though it really can't hold a candle to Interview or Body Thief, the story of Tarquin Blackwood and his family is really just spun so well you become raptured. Quinn is just so beautiful that the reader can not help but fall in love with him. His love/hate tug of war for his doppelganger is enough to make you empathize with his character. Of course, no Anne Rice vampire tale would really be complete with out an appearance of the Brat Prince himself, Lestat. Quinn comes to Lestat, begging for aid against Goblin- his doppelganger- and even against himself. He spills the story of himself and the mysteries of Blackwood Manor. Quinn is truely a one of a kind character, opting to continue living with his family on Blackwood Manor though he is among the undead. The story also continues the growing relationship of the vampires and the Mayfair Witch Clan that began with Merrick.
If you're a Anne Rice fan, or even if you aren't and just in need of a good story, this is the ticket. I doubt you'll be disappointed. And now I'm off to read Blood Canticle...
