Summary: Stop already !
Review: Anne Rice, please do us all a favor and stop writing. You have used up all your talents on your earlier works. Those were magnificent; but, the last 3 or 4 (including Blackwood Farm) are terrible. If you must write, for God's sake get a competent independent editor. Blackwood Farm is incredibly verbose and lacking in character development. I was diappointed so much (again) that I doubt I will ever again try to tackle another of your novels.

Summary: Anne Rice still has it!
Review: I thought this book was wonderful!! If you're a fan of Anne and her novels you will absolutely fall in love!!! You'll also fall in love with Quinn; he's a welcome addition to the Coven of the Articulate! The only problem is it sadly ends to soon. And Lestat even has a large part in the novel along with Merrick. It's simply enchanting. I can't wait to see the next installment!

Summary: Why the FLUFF?
Review: Wooose. Maybe I am partial to female protagonists, but why is this one so ambivalent and woose-like? Sure ends are tied up from the Talesmaca and the Mayfairs, but the rest is just fluff!!! The book could have been 20 pages and told the story. Seems more like Jackie Collins! Anne, I know you have voluptuous desires, but reeeeaaaly, the finesse that you have shown in the chronicles do not shine in this tell tale....please!

Summary: Lestat has returned to save the day, yet again!
Review: I love Anne Rice's vampire chronicles, and too me there is no other comparable! And Anne has done it again! From with in her mind of witches and vampires comes the ironic life of a doppleganger named Goblin. Quinn (in which Goblin is attached to) has no idea where his goul has come from, but knows he loves him. But, when Quinn is transformed into a vampire by a selfish blood drinker, Goblin is also transformed, but into a evil being. Flinging himself at the feet of the legendary Lestat, Quinn needs to rid of Goblin's terror. And who else to save the day then the Brat Prince, Lestat?
Though I was disappointed in the presnces of the Mayfairs, this book has the adventure, history, and blood in a usual Rice book. It is a must read for any Rice fan!

Summary: Blackwood Farm
Review: Having been an "addict" of Anne Rice from the first, I found this book to be a reach back to earlier works. The characters are as tangible an one's own family members, with all of the quirks and nuances that only a true Southerner would understand. I was extremely pleased to see the merge between the Vampires and the Mayfairs, previously hinted, as a culmination of the story lines. Alas, I'll have to wait for the next book to continue the journey of the newest members of the sagas, but still reslish the opportunity to re-read all of the originals to reconnect and come back "up to speed". To those who have problem with some of the recent novels, one must remember that all authors, especially one that connects so deeply, have periods of work that some don't consider being up to par of the "blockbusters" previously written. A relationship with an author is like that of a loved one. To love them is to give them free reign, and let them lead you where they will. With Anne Rice, it is always to satisfaction.

Summary: The return of Lestat...well, almost
Review: If you've heard that Rice brings Lestat back for an encore performance, you've heard correctly...almost. While Lestat does make a "cameo" appearance in the excellent "Blackwood Farm", it's a far kinder, gentler Lestat than in previous novels. It's almost as if Lestat has lost his 'fangs'. "Blackwood Farm" is wholly Tarquin Blackwood's tale though, a hybrid of the Mayfair clan and neophyte blood hunter. He tells the engaging story of his life at Blackwood Manor, with all of its interesting characters. He hunts down Lestat for help when his "doppelganger" becomes too powerful and threatens his family and "un-life". While Rice covers little new ground here in her combining of the Mayfair witch tales and her vampire legacies, her talent shines through tremendously. Unfortunately, the narrative is uneven and choppy in places....but not enough so that the story is affected too much. Rice knows her characters, her backstory, and how to build tension, which shows to great effect in "Blackwood Farm". Even if you've become somehow jaded with recent novels from Rice, this would be an excellent time to renew your faith!

Summary: Want to be enveloped in to a new rich and exciting world ?
Review: I thouroughly enjoyed this book and spent two very late nights up reading it too completion. I am an avid Vampire Cronicles fan, but I must say that by far the Mayfair Witches are my favourite Anne Rice Novels, so you can imagine I was really happy when I read the blurb and my favourite charcter Mona Mayfair was part of this story.
Unfortunately she wasn't in the book as much as I would have liked, however we are introduced to a new character Tarquin Blackwood (Quinn) and he is just a spectacular! His life story is of a large and loving family, a posse of ghosts and all facets of his erotic life, I fell in love with him and the novel. My only disappointment with this moving book was that I have too wait for the next one !!! I am sure I will often think about what will happen in the next installment and I am excited and expectant :)

Summary: Welcome Back!
Review: I thought this book was great! There were a few Anne Rice books over the past few years that just lost me (Memnoch, Lasher) or seemed to stand alone (Vittorio, Blood and Gold)--I read them, but they seemed disjointed and did not fit neatly into the chronicles. Blackwood Farm is wonderful. It blends the Vampire Chronicles with the Mayfair Witches and the Talamasca seamlessly and addictively. I thought the story of Quinn was fascinating and didn't mind that Lastat was only a supporting character--at least he was awake! I loved how Rice used characters from a couple of her other books. And I love how we are left waiting on edge for the next book to come out--soon please!!

Review: As usual Anne Rice has created a masterpiece. I love how all her books are related to one another. You get to know here characters very well and that makes the reading more enjoyable. This is one of the better books she has done for a while. Although I love them all this one had my intersted secured with in the first page. Wonderful book.
