Rating: Summary: Further adventures in the Burg Review: The Burg is a section of Trenton, NJ, where Stephanie Plum plies her trade as a bounty hunter, working for her cousin Vinnie. Her latest assignment is Maxine Nowicki, who has stolen her boyfriend's car. Stephanie has the lure of her bounty money plus a promise of $1000 from Maxine's ex-boyfriend, who is very anxious for Maxine to be apprehended. Things get wild when someone begins to cut body part off from Maxine's friends and also attempts to burn up Stephanie's house and apartment. Wannabe bounty hunters, Lula, a former prostitute, and Sally, a trash-talking transvestite, join Stephanie in the hunt for Maxine and they definitely make things lively. This humorous trio gets into all sorts of trouble before the bad guys are finally brought to justice. As always, Evanovich fills her books with extemely colorful and hilarious characters and hysterically humorous action.
Rating: Summary: Too Good! Review: My sister asked me to read Janet Evanovich, telling me that my writing style is very close to hers. I was curious more than anything, especially since we write in the same genre, and found this author to be just too good to be true. I was so glad my sister told me about her and am looking forward to reading all her other novels. Perfect!
Rating: Summary: Gives Laughing out loud, new meaning! Review: It is a must to start with the first book and work your way through the story of Stephanie Plum. After that by the time you get to this one if your not in love with Morelli, your numb!!! So Hot it sizzles! These are the best books I have ever read, in fact so good my mom, grandma and sister all read them after me.
Rating: Summary: Well at least its not as bad as the black maid outfit! Review: Well..do to her lack of understanding the true character of trenton...it has an quite BAD similarity to many of her real life friends...including the ones she was living a dubble life with...I must say it raises my level of confidence in her ability to stab with daggers! I remember all about her and hourse girl..the parties...the cheating. Just glad I am blind as well as deaf! My friends had to punch this book into brail so I could read it! Only selected this book due to its easy language and lack of her real passions in life. These would include immaturity, insecurity, "the mirror", laying back with the head on the pillow with saltines, and the way she liked to constantly bash trentons head into the wall!
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: Janet Evanovich's books are awesome! Everyone should read them!
Rating: Summary: Janet Evanovich/ must buy series Review: I love all the Janet Evanovich series books! I discovered her after Three came out and have been buying on hardcover ever since. These wonderful books have hilarious dialogue mixed in with thrilling situations and wonderful characters (i personally would like to meet a Joe Morelli frustrating that he is). I have the entire series and have reread them many times. Thanks Janet!
Rating: Summary: Plum Good Again!!! Review: Very funny and fast paced book!! I started the series about 3 weeks ago, now I can't stop reading the books. Evanovich is a female Carl Haissen(sp?). Recommend to every comedy/mystery fan.
Rating: Summary: Score a Ten!!! Review: This fourth book in the series is one of nonstop falling off your chair laughter. Stephanie Plum, bounty hunter is after Maxine Nowicki, who is free on a stolen automobile charge. Her boyfriend, Eddie Kuntz, also offers Stephanie money in hopes that she can retrieve something extremely valuable to him...love letters, he claims. The chase is on in this page-turning craze, and all of the extra added details that makes this adventure that much more funny! The cast of characters is helpful to Stephanie once again. Stephanie's family, especially Grandma Mazur, add pizzazz, depth, and a heck of a lot of humor to this great plot. Joe Morelli is also back and yes him and Stephanie finally get together! Lula, the large prostitute-turned-file clerk-slash-wannabe is hysterical in this book. Her quick wit and street humor keep you rolling. This fourth book also introduces Sally Sweet, a code-breaking transvestite 'drag queen" musician. Grandma Mazur comes right out and asks Sally what a drag queen does with his ding-dong and I died laughing. Stephanie's enemy, Joyce Barnhardt, also has a larger roll in this book, as the newest bounty hunter at the Vincent Plum bail bonds agency. This book is truly hysterical, pages keep turning with the fast paced humor and wit. This is the best book yet in the series and I thought three was good. This series is highly recommended!
Rating: Summary: Laugh out loud funny Review: I have laughed and laughed reading these novels by Evonovich. I woke my husband up the other night laughing while reading this book. The characters in this book are too funny. Grandma, Cousin Vinnie, Sally Sweet and Lula each add a new dimension and many laughs to this story. Grandma is the type of granmother you would love to have; she says what she is thinking. Lula is one of the funniest characters and as this series continues, she gets better and better. I particularly like how Stephanie's cars get blown up over and over again, but not the blue bomb. Wonderful. Enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Four to Score (Audio and Abridged) Review: I first listened to the audio version of this Janet Evanovich book and was disappointed. The reader speaks too fast and the story was moving too quickly. The story lasts only three hours and I found myself getting stuck on the readers accent and quick reading. Characters were lost in the audio version, LuLu sounded like GrandMa and Morelli sounded like Ranger. I stopped listening after the third side and decided to read the book. I'm so glad I did. So, do yourself a favor and read, don't listen.
