Rating: Summary: No Bang Review: This was not my favorite Spark's book. It was a good story, however, very predictalbe. There was no bang at the ending except for who the driver was that killed Missy. But one could figure this out easily. I did think the characters were well written, especially Miles. I would have liked to have seen a more exciting, heart moving ending, then what there was. I have loved all of his other novels and will continue to read his new ones as they come out - this novel was not a page turner like his others.
Rating: Summary: Sappy Review: I really hate to do this, but it irks me that an over-rated author could get to be a best seller. This book is not as good as the worst Harlequin I have ever read! There is not one thing in this book that kept me turning the pages.
Rating: Summary: Not the best, but still good Review: I got hooked on Sparks' books this past summer, and I think they are all great. While this one is not his best, it is still a very touching and interesting story.
Rating: Summary: Poorly Written Book Review: It is a great story idea, but the writer made it predictable and trite. There were many long dialogues where nothing was actually said. I was horribly disappointed, and I live in the town the story was set. That in itself should have kept me interested...or maybe not?
Rating: Summary: Beautifully written... beautifully played out Review: I've read every one of Nicholas Sparks' books, and each one gets better and better. In a way they build on one another as if to reflect aspects of his own life. Nicholas Sparks knows women... their feelings, their thoughts and their pain. He also knows the dynamics of relationships between men and women. His characters (in this case, Miles and Sarah) emulate the feelings we've all had in similar situations. I could also write this same review about "The Rescue."
Rating: Summary: Not one of his best Review: This book was okay. I wouldn't say I forced myself to finish it, but just about. [...] I will say, the book really gets rolling about 1/2 way through and the last few chapters, naturally, are the best. It is an okay read. You must read A Walk to Remember....grab your hankie!
Rating: Summary: A Bend in the Road Review: Nicholas Sparks is the all-time best author and this was definitetly one of his best. It had a heart-wrenching love triangle with turns of mystery. You cant put it down-you have to know what happens!
Rating: Summary: Sparks has done it again! Review: A masterpiece if ever I've read one. Sparks has an ability to get deeper inside me than any other author has been able to do and I read A LOT. He writes with his heart which then in turn is where I read it from. It's fabulous. All Sparks' books are truly amazing. The way Sparks puts words on paper is almost as though you are living the scene with the characters. I almost jump into his books. It is as though I am there. I definitely will keep buying NICHOLAS SPARKS novels.
Rating: Summary: Sparks does it again! Review: This is an emotional tale about a couple's new-found happiness & the shocking secret that threatens to keep them apart. Miles Ryan's life felt like it ended the day his wife was killed in a hit-&-run accident. While Miles struggles with the unanswered question of who murdered his wife, their son suffers with nightmares & is struggling in school. A parent-teacher conference is called & enter Sarah Andrews, Jonah's second grade teacher. Sarah is new to the town & trying to rebuild her own life after a disappointing first marriage. As Sarah & Miles work together to help Jonah catch up, they fall in love. They discover that their newfound love starts to soothe the pain of their pasts & they begin to think of a future together. But something else binds them together beside their love. A Bend in the Road is told from a unique viewpoint - that of the driver of the car that killed Missy. Writing in a journal the murderer lives with the guilt & nightmares. When the murderer is unveiled, can Miles' & Sarah's new love withstand the shocking secret? Nicholas Sparks does it again! This is another example of why he is America's best-loved & bestselling author of stories of the heart. I highly recommend this heart-breaking mystery!
Rating: Summary: Can't Put It Down! Review: I read all his Books, and this one I think is the Best! I just can't put it down. All his Books are great, but I love this one, and the Message In The Bottle. I'm looking forward for his next book.
