Summary: Women Have The Same Problems
Review: I gave the book only two stars because never once did I see
any reference to women have the same problem.Women need a
book all for themselves because many of us share the same
troubles men have yet many churches do not see this as a
"women's problem" Usually women are sterotyped as the sex
giver and love addict but never the sexual aggressor or
one dealing with strong sexual desires. Why is it that half
the human race is sterotyped as nearly sexless? I have yet
to see the Christian book which addresses this important
issue to women. It says it all on the cover of this book.
The man looking at the woman.Women have eyes in their heads
too,and problems come as well to women concerning this as
with men.I give the book two stars because it has some good
advice for both men and women yet it's only directed towards
men.Where it says 'he' I add a 'she' because both sexes have an
equal problem in this area.I'm waiting for a woman's book in which sexuality is acknowledged as both a male and female
characteristic.
Some references to women as "desirable" but not someone who also
desires I find very sexist.Women are forever sterotyped as something for men to abtain like an object. When will the
churches and Christian writers stop thinking of women as so
different and realize women are heirs to the Kingdom of equal
mind, ability and sexuality? I'm waiting for this time but I bet
it will be a long wait.

Summary: No more pretending...
Review: I have been leading a small group of about ten guys on my floor through this book. Not one of us have gone through our teenage or college years untouched by the trappings of pornography, masturbation, or other sexual temptations. It is time for the church to stop pretending that sin struggles do not exist in the lives of its young men and women and begin to address these issues on the head. Otherwise, our young people are left to find the answers in the world because no one else will talk about it with them in specific terms they can understand and relate to.

This book is a candid peer-mentor discussion between the author and, in a sense, the reader. Steve and Fred hold nothing back from their own lives and, while many of their experiences were difficult, they do a great job of refraining from too graphic while not shying back from the specifics of their struggles. This makes the reader feel as he can relate with the author--dealing in generalities is not an option when it comes to this topic, even if it is often uncomfortable to discuss. The book also brings in a lot of humor which is quite helpful at breaking the tension.

Arterburn and Stoeker ask tough questions, fill their readers with the Word of God, and most importantly, leave the young man with the knowledge that he is not alone in his struggle. The ten guys in my small group have really opened up with one another and are determined to see a change in thier own life as well as the lives of their peers.

Parents and youth workers: buy this book for your young men and get some dialogue going with them, you may be surprised at what you find out (then again, I hope you're not as you may have also struggled with these very issues). More importantly, talk to your young men about sex--where else would you want them to be learn about it? This book is a great follow-up and will address a whole assortment of issues that you may not feel comfortable covering or may not realize are there.

Young men...it's time to make a change in your life and step into the fullness that God has for you in the area of your sexuality. It is a gift from God that we must valiantly protect and uphold--our integrity is on the line. Join the thousands of young men across the country and around the world in the battle to uphold your sexual purity. Starve the sumo!

Summary: not as good as every man's battle, regardless of your age
Review: I have read both this book for young men and Every Man's Battle written primarily for married men. I got more out of the one not geared toward young men; I felt the challenge and the writing was more effective. Neither one is very subtle, so it's not like you're being less direct by reading the Young Man's Battle. The basic issue is the same, and I just think Fred & Steve deal with it better in the previous Every Man's Battle. The Young Man's seemed rushed and really didn't provide anything the first one didn't. Every Young Man's Battle is great for teenagers, but singles will probably get more out of Every Man's Battle.

Summary: Real and Honest - Excellent if you're young and struggling
Review: I highly recommend this book if your young and struggling. I'm a 24 year old male training to be a youth pastor, and struggling with lust is very fraustrating to me. I've tried many times to clean it up on my own...but to no avail.
Reading "Every Young Man's Battle" was very helpful in helping me understand my struggles, and gave practical specific steps on how to guard against temptation and lust. The book was CLEARLY written by someone who's "been there" before us. It's straight-shooting, blunt, and real. And when your dealing with something as spiritually disabling as lust - you want advice that's gonna get results fast. God has done a great thing through these authors - I highly recommend this book!

Summary: A good book for a battle that all men must face.
Review: I read EVERY MAN'S BATTLE and then this book. Much of it was rehashed info, but I would strongly recomend this book for any young man (not just Christians) who is struggling with dealing with the world and keeping himself pure. In the book it details not only what is right and wrong but way to deal with temptaions and how to keep yourself pure. Virginity is not a lost thing, it has just been pushed as a subculture that many people view it as a bad thing. This book is nice when it comes to the Blunt subjects and in a world where sex is so open but talking about is not it is a refreshing change of pace. In a world where there are comercials on TV talking about how to cure STD's I think that this book needs to be read to show how to avoid that and so many other things that men mus face and never should!

Summary: Good Book.
Review: I see alot of good reviews here. I also see alot of bad reviews. This book is EXTREMELY FRANK. It does not pull any punches. If the authors want to say something, they just say it.

I also see alot of reviews by people who seem to think that the authors are trying to stifle the natural drives of young men. I have a natural drive to eat food. But that drive must be controlled: if I eat too much, I get fat, which is unhealthy. In the same way, there is a proper setting for sex: Marriage.

This book deals with real problems from real life. Its not a miracle cure, but it IS helpful. I recommend this book to all young men fighting for purity in their own lives.

Summary: Great Book!!!
Review: I thought this was an awesome book, it has helped me quite a bit!!! [Reviewer] says it "crude", but it isnt, it is VERY helpful. This book is key to helping w/the battle of sexual temptation and is overwhelmingly helpful. The Bible DOES say that lusting is adultery, and it is, if you look at a woman lustfully, you HAVE committed adultery in your heart, and the Bible does say this is a sin. This book is great and I think that every young man should read it.

Summary: The Pro's and Con's of this Book from a sex addict
Review: If you are a youth minister than this is a good book for relating with the struggles that your teenagers are going through. Now, if you are looking for a book to give to your youth, you may want to check out "Not even a hint" from Joshua Harris. That book isn't as graphic and I don't think that you will be in danger of being pulled aside by someone's parent for giving their teenager a book on sexual temptation. Both books deal with the Godly way to address the situation but EYMB tends to send your thoughts through the gutter.

Summary: Your choice: a Christian man or a biological male?
Review: If you believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, you will find this book to be a wakeup call. It challenges you to become a Christian man, rather than the biological male that current secular materialism and Naturalism encourges.

If you do not believe in God, and believe we are merely biological entities with no spiritual half, then you will find this book provides you a good chance to make fun of those silly Christians.

So. It's your choice. Live as an animal, or as a Christian. To help me, that is my sword and shield when dealing with this issue. I ask myself, "Are you a biological male, or a Christian man?" To which of these 2 would you entrust the hand of your daughter or sister?
