Rating: Summary: Powerful Review: A riveting read with racism as the ticking time bomb. Fascinating characters and non-stop plot. One of Grisham's best.
Rating: Summary: This is a very emotional book. Review: This is a book that makes you think about what you would do if one of your children were raped. According to the defense, Carl Lee was a hero, and did the right thing. Jake Briggins was a superb lawyer with a great defense. Rufus Buckley is just a power hungry district attorney who tries to destroy Brigin's case. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to read a great trial book.
Rating: Summary: One of Grisham's best !! Review: I couldn't wait till next day to read the next pages once I started. Every details carefully constructed for the very fulfilling ending. It made me to grab his other novels.
Rating: Summary: A great effort by a great fiction writer Review: John Grisham is like a breath of fresh air in the literary fiction world. "A Time to Kill" was his first book, and took him 10 years to write. He was a member of the Mississippi State Legislature,at the time it was published, and sold books from the trunk of his car on his lunch hours. The book, written from a true story, has all the suspense, and human emotion anyone can want, and some you may not be able to stand. The young daughter of a black man is raped, beaten and tortured, by two young white men, then left for dead tied to a tree. After the father kills the men, he is defended by a white lawyer. This all takes place is Mississippi, about 30 years ago. It is a masterpiece.

Rating: Summary: The best Grisham book yet to hit the book stores! Review: Grisham shows his elagance for writting true novels with this piece of work. In this novel he shows that even wit and class can beat out the worst of evil. He shows true class with an ending like none other. The stores starts out in Mississippi where the daughter of Carl Lee Haley (Tonya Haley) has just been raped by two racial white men who don't care who they hurt. The sheriff goes, occuses them of the crime and they are arrested. I tell you that if you want the res of the story is brillant. Read the word but don't take my word for it!
