Rating: Summary: good reading but too much like other books Review: reading this book reminds me of the other books she has written. Cornwell is an excellent writer who needs to remember that she should change her characters once in a while. We are lead slowly down a path to the inevitable outcome. The only twist in this book is the sister who looks like him. It's a good read
Rating: Summary: The BEST Patricia Cornwell novel yet! Review: Another spine-tingling tale of murder and mayhem for our
heroine, Dr. Kay Scarpetta. Her old nemesis Temple Gault
is back with a vengeance, leaving a bloody trail along
the way to the ultimate confrontation. This page-turner is
not to be missed for all Cornwell fans!
Rating: Summary: The pits . . . a contrived pot-boiler. Avoid it. Review: If you love meaningless running around, plot lines that
defy even sympathetic attempts to suspend disbelief, and
snarled bureacratic conflicts among different law enforcement agencies, you might put up with this one. Otherwise . . . the book disappoints. One gets the impression that it was written in haste. A pale imitation of the previous work . . .deserves to be piled high on the remainder tables (if not in a Potter's Field for books).
Rating: Summary: So far, the worst book of one of my favorite authors Review: Having read all of Patricia Cornwell's books, I was very disappointed about her latest achievment. Draging the villain through 3 separate books probably wasn't her best idea. Even more disturbing: The characters of her main heros (Scarpetta, Marino, Lucie) were described inconsistent with her previous books
Rating: Summary: A MUST for Cornwell Fans! Review: Another great book by Patricia Cornwell. Kay Scarpetta is up to her lab coat in intrigue and mystery revolving around
her old friend, Temple Gault, the FBI and her niece. Gault
leaves a trail of bodies pointing straight toward the good
doctor and she is the one who must put a stop to his bloody
game.
You won't be able to put this one down.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining, but one major quibble. Review: I listened to the tape version, which is pretty good for getting you to the beach, etc. There is a strong narrative drive that carries you along. However, having the text read to you highlights some of the lack of "tightness" that good editing could have fixed. Also, please don't TELL us that Gault is the worst murderer of the century, SHOW us. Prove it! My personal quibble is that when our heroine is talking with a woman's father and he asks if his daughter is dead, Kay answers with a flat yes, when at most she's got a hunch as to the identity of the dead woman. This is inconceivable for a forensic pathologist whose specialty is not only what she knows, but what she can prove. I'd probably listen to another Scarpetta book on tape, if I got it from the library.
Rating: Summary: Predictable but Good Review: Most of the story you could have guessed at and unless you were deaf, dumb and blind you were not really shocked as to how the story ended.
Still not a bad little book. I would recommend it. I still like Dr. Kay even after all this time.

Rating: Summary: Good, scary read Review: This is my favorite Cornwell story and it will leave you a little spooked. This was my first exposure to this author which lead me to many of her other books. Temple Gault is an excellent villan, and Kay Scarpetta a most interesting main character. Well worth reading.
Rating: Summary: Terrific again!! Keep them coming!! Review: I've read all of the Kay Scarpetta books up to this one and I was so glad the villian was foiled!! I love these books!! I recommend them to anyone enjoying mystery series books!
