Rating: Summary: The Best Patricia Cornwell's book Review: I have read all Patricia Cornwell's book, and I think Ms. Cornwell has reached her best in writing this book.
Suspense, mystery, New York, they all contribute to keep you awake until you finish the book.
Ciao a tutti.
Rating: Summary: Kay Scarpetti is losing it. Review: Here is a character I have enjoyed develop. But Kay is losing it. She should dump her niece Lucie, clean up her personal life (it's not nice to have an affair with a friends husband) and treat Det. Marino with some respect.
As for Gault, if I pick up another Scarpetti book with his name in it... right back on the shelf
Rating: Summary: If you can't say anything nice, Review: Well, that's no fun. Honesty is the best policy, right? This was the first of Patricia's books I had the displeasure to become acquainted with. I've tried reading another of her works, but I can't get over the simplistic writing with unnecessary adjectives thrown in for no apparent reason except, perhaps, to make the sentences longer and make the reader suffer from the protracted tripe. More than that, this book failed to make me care about the characters or about the outcome of the story
Rating: Summary: Great read Review: This book is a great read, a lot of fun. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes the genre. On the down side, I think that Gault is a little too evil -- he borders on the implausible with his ability to be one step ahead of the game. Also, I think Cornwell needs to develop Dr Kay a bit more; she's a good character, but needs more depth
Rating: Summary: Well worth the wait ! Review: Another exciting Scarpetta novel with well thought out plots and attention to detail.Patricia Cornwell brings the characters to life once again in such a way that you feel as though you know them well .
Gripping from start to finish with a nice touch of bringing back some characters from the past but in such a way that it can be read on it's own as well.A must read for all Scarpetta followers .
Rating: Summary: Too gory, predictable and hard to believe. Review: Temple Gault comes off as the classical anti-Christ in this well-told but predictable mystery. If one can overlook the tired story-line and sometimes difficult-to-believe plot features, this Cornwell novel rates fairly high as an entertaining summer read
Rating: Summary: Dr. Scarpetta Returns, and So Does Gault! Review: Prepare to keep the lights on tonight if you're reading "From Potter's Field"! Enter the dark, even sometimes humorous, world of Dr.Kay Scarpetta, a mystery solving sleuth where you don't expect it! Marino better watch out for his job.
Suspense and terror reign through "Potter's Field" as well as suprise and intrigue. We once again encounter the evil Temple Gault and seek the identity of his latest victim. Its like mixing horror and mystery and getting the best of both worlds!
If you didn't read this book on hardcover, pick it up now on paperback! Unless, of course, your chicken..
Rating: Summary: Kay Scarpetta fans will love it! Review: Another thumbs up for Patricia Cornwell.
Anyone who has gotten to know Dr. Kay Scarpetta
throughout the years won't want to miss this one.
Another fast-moving, highly entertaining novel with
all the characters you've come to know. I was a little
disappointed with the quick ending - all the page turning
to get to the end - and then - boom - it was over.
PS - Note to the author: Let's give Kay a more available love interest...she deserves
some happiness in her personal life. Or is that why we all relate to her??
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: This book by Patricia D. Cornwell holds the suspense and mystery as her other six Scarpetta novels, including the new one. It is wonderful because it offers what the reader is looking for if he/she has read other Cornwell novels. If that's what you like, this is what you're looking for
