Summary: Truly inspirational and it makes sense.Very honest.
Review: This book was wonderful to read and truly inspiring on a very basic level that made such good sense. The technique is "honesty" to your self and your full potential. As one reads - it all makes perfect sense and we knew it all the time but did not hear it. Wonderful book and I thank the author.

Summary: Another Crack-pot, Voodoo, Pop Psychology Offering
Review: Nothing new here...John Gray rides the coatails of those well before him. How many books out there say the same things? Make a plan, follow-it, don't worry, be happy...,etc. It's sad that people make a market for this stuff. I think I'll attach PhD to my name and write a book. Stay tuned...(or just read a little Dale Carnegie).

Summary: It's Time for Mr. Gray to Give It a Rest!
Review: I've heard the hype about John Gray for several years through informercials and reviews of his books. I'm going through some personal changes and thought that this book would lead to some inspiration for me to conquer those changes. Wrong!! This book is filled with mindless drivel (basically affirmations) that is less than inspring. In addition, regarding Gray's photo on the book, it looks like he swallowed a load of Prozac, washed it down with a margarita and fell face down into a bowl of makeup. Not for people who want to improve their life.

Summary: A steal from Vanzant's 1998 "In the Meantime"???
Review: Rating it a 3 out of fairness and assumption it's at least average, but the info provided here on this book makes me smell a rat: is this just riding the coat tails of Iyanla Vanzant's book from 1998, much touted on Oprah, "In the Meantime: Find Yourself and the Love you Want"??? Sounds like it, esp. since a phrase from her work says "Want what you have to get what you want". Sounds too close for me. And, if it is, this is just emotional ambulance chasing.

Summary: It's what's inside that counts
Review: This was a very satisfying book that helps us turn inward for guidance. As an author, (Inside Therapy: Illuminating Writings about Therapists, Patients, and Psychotherapy) I share Gray's values for listening to one's heart and mind in order to find success.

Summary: A great book for people who want to make a difference.
Review: I really enjoyed this book and I found it extremely helpful. As a Chi Gung master, International Healer, and author (Chi Gung: Chinese Healing, Energy, and Natural Magick), I live a life where it is extremely important to have access to any tools one needs in order to help others. I have found that the more I allow myself to be truly me, the more miracles and sychronicities I see in my life. When we open our eyes and accept ourselves, life truly becomes blessed and wonderful.

I work as a healer 24 hours a day with plants, animals, and people and in order to do that, I have to listen to my intuition so that I always end up at the right place, doing the right thing, at the right time, with the right tools. And by doing this, I have been able to literally save lives. What I'm trying to say here is that John's book is incredible because it shows the reader that we don't have to give up things in order to help others or lead a fullfilling life. In fact, quite the opposite can be true. By using what we have as tools, we can find ourselves living lives of great spiritual growth and with unlimited opportunity.

Buy this book. It will give you a fresh perspective on the way you look at your own happiness and success. It's not what's out there that matters, it's what is inside of yourself. But when you realize that, then you can open yourself to using any tools that you need in order to achieve your dreams. While it might seem strange to many, by finding out what you truly want and then getting it, you can then learn what really makes you happy and then with that happiness, you can change that emotion into internal energy (Chi) so that you can help make a difference. Therefore, a person can indeed live a life that fullfills both their material and spiritual needs.

Summary: A true source of inspiration for self direction & motivation
Review: As with all of John's books about the human spirit, this one focuses on your personal self and how to achieve your personal best. It will help you understand and break throught to new levels of self empowerment. A must read if you want to move forward in your life!

Summary: Goofy Title, Good Book
Review: This is a great book with really usable, practical advice on dealing with (Gray calls it "processing") feelings and getting beyond the blocks that keep us from being happy. It's not mumbo-jumbo, it's real-world stuff.

If you're angry at your boss, for example, Gray shows you how to go "back in time" and deal with the anger at your father for abandoning the family, or whatever your case is. Instead of staying immobilized by negative emotions, Gray shows you how to work through them, feel them and then move on.

Most importantly, he shows you how to really WANT what you want--how to be passionate and say, "That's for me," rather than being afraid to feel your goals. This is a really valuable lesson, at least for me.

I've read this book twice. The first time I basically blew off the methods Gray teaches, thinking, "It's too much trouble." The second time I was ready to learn, and it really helped me reach my goals and deal with some problem areas in my life.

Self-help books come in every variety from awful to incredible. This is one of the incredible ones, in my opinion, but only if you're willing to do the work to fix things. Nothing works in a vaccuum, and nothing gets done without effort.

Summary: Life Changing
Review: Very informative for example, the metaphor about the "tanks" that we all need to fill up when we feel unhappy or unfulfilled-in otherwords, to look inside yourself and not blame your partner or someone else. If you feel empty may be you need some time alone, or some time with family or time to pray to "your" God, it is not "always" the other persons fault. Also the prayer meditations are excellent and quite simple, especially to reconnect with God and to release negativity and bring in positive energy (may be a little new age for some people but try it, you will feel better). There was a lot of information and I think they organized it in a readible format--however, it gets hard to read in the middle-and- keep reading-it is worth it! I liked the book because I learned to meditate and release negative energy and to ask for what I want from God by being specific and to reconnect with God every day as the one who creates miracles. There are different people with different levels of spiritual development. For the person just staring to seek out spirituality, this book is the beginning of their journey for knowledge. Buy it, borrow it from the library, read it! John is saying: have a continuous relationship with "your" God; learn and understand your life cycles from birth-fill in the gaps; understanding your spirituality is extremely important in getting what you want and being happy.

Summary: Now a guru..please!!!
Review: His view of God is fluffy and New Agey. His relationship books
I thought were bad enough but this book comes across as though he has some secret information about spiritual matters,,not!!
He repeats himself about getting connected with God,and to me
it sounds more like "God source" as many New Agers say, rather
than God.More like God source within you,eh,this is too much!
I agree with the other reviewer who said it's about self
promotion.Seems like that to me too. It's kind of a funny book,
ok for a good laugh I suppose but not for seriously looking
for religion or God.
