Summary: Great beach book!
Review: The first I've read of this author. I absolutely fell in love with the main character, A.D.A. Alexandra Cooper, and I certainly hope Ms. Fairstein plans on bringing her back in the future. I also loved the settings (NYC and Martha's Vineyard) in which the book took place. This wasn't the most involved murder/suspense book I've ever read, but I certainly did not want to put this book down! Characters are not who they seem, and Ms. Fairstein certainly kept me guessing as to the final outcome. Definitely a "must read" for all of you Mary Higgens Clark fans out there - if you love MHC, you'll love this book

Summary: Easy plot led to boredom.
Review: The plot was too easy here. The author generally writes well, but her style could be improved. I was entertained, but not to the point where I would consider the author a good crime novelist. I would not recommend this book, because there are too many other fiction-crime novels that are more enjoyable reads.

Summary: Excellent debut novel
Review: The title, "Final Jeopardy" refers to the quiz show which plays only a minor role in the novel. Although the identity of the murderer was somewhat precictable (my first guess at the beginning of the book was incorrect; my second guess in the middle was correct), the characters were real enough to be believable and the contrast in setting between New York City and Martha's Vineyard was well done. I enjoyed the character of Alexandra Cooper and felt that Ms. Fairstein gave her just the right touch of grit and femininity. I hope that Ms.Fairstein will write more Alexandra Cooper novels where she will further develop her character and give us more information about Alex's past

Summary: enjoyable and easy read
Review: This book was my first introduction to Linda Fairstein. I'm more of a Patricia Cornwell fan. Overall, the book reminded me of tv shows Law & Order SVU and CSI. I had a hard time getting into the book at first, but quickly eased into Linda's writing style. The story flowed pretty quickly and smoothly, although the main character came across a little "dim-witted" between the middle and end of the book. The only odd thing I've noticed about Linda's books is that they aren't listed in order from book to book. I had to go to her web site to make sure I followed the proper order.

Summary: Not Bad
Review: This is an interesting murder mystery featuring an Assistant D.A. named Alexandra Cooper whose specialty is sex crimes. A starlet is murdered in the driveway of Cooper's Martha's Vineyard house, and it's up to Cooper to figure out what happened and who's guilty before the same thing happens to her.

The plot has some interesting turns, and it stays on the proper side of the plausibility line throughout. Cooper manages to juggle several cases at once while keeping her personal life going, and she even goes down a few dead ends in her investigation. Nevertheless, this isn't the kind of book where you flounder around for the first hundred pages while the author develops the characters; instead each character has a distinct personality and the plot gets moving from the very first page. It will definitely hold your interest. Well done, Fairstein.

Summary: Lots of pulp, lots of fun.
Review: This is the first book in one of my favorite series! I initially purchased the book because of its name, 'Final Jeopardy', my husband and I being fans of the show. I was happy to learn that Fairstein does include Jeopardy questions as part of the challenging relationship between Alexandra Cooper, NYC Assistant District Attorney for Sex Crimes, and Mike Chapman, the NYC Police Detective who investigates most of her cases. Their repartee is a big part of the success of this series. Another enjoyable aspect of this series is the stories from Fairstein's long and successful career as (surprise) Assistant District Attorney for sex crimes in NYC. Fairstein's knowledge of the law and the city contribute to the realism in her books and characters. This first book in the series will be just the start of your reading pleasure.

Review: This was a book I would recomend

Summary: Excellent behind the scenes look at an assistant DA.
Review: This was a pretty good book. It is an excellent dipiction of what happens in the "sex crime unit" as an assistant district attorney. The story line was pretty decent as well. Alexandra is an assistant DA in the "sex crime unit" in NY. Her actress friend borrows her place on Martha's Vineyard and while she is there, she is murdered. At first the authorities think the murder was mistaken identity (should have been Alex) but as it turns out it wasn't. With a few twists and turns, the book continues nicely coming full circle at the end. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
