Rating: Summary: Personal opinion. Review: I found the book to be very surprising as always with Clancy, because the storylines come together in such a perfect way and inspite of the many storylines, they are all very detailed. Although this book is the hard stuff (about a thousand pages) I think it is definately woth buying.
Rating: Summary: Best Reading Ever Review: Tom Clancy has really Done it this time. This was the most suspenseful book I have ever read. I couldn't put it down. I must agree with some of the other reviewers. I am disapointed with the way he has painted himself into a corner so to speak. I don't know what kind of options he has now. Still the way he can thread together story lines is fantastic!!!! Oh and I thought all the OP Center Books Sucked too.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful book. Review: This book is Clancy's best yet! I can't wait for another one
Rating: Summary: A predictably disappointing bore Review: Having read a couple of Clancy's previous novels I had a fair idea of what I was letting myself into upon reading EO: Yank-loving, rest-of-the-world bashing nationalist literature. Now in this novel Clancy gives himself what appears to be a lifelong ambition: control of the US. Now he finally has his chance to show all those politicians the way to really run a country! Which in this case would be badly, a return to the bleak old days of the Reagan era. The storyline is monotonous and is dragged on far too long and Clancy's right-wing militant view of the world is just getting boring. A terrible novel which should at all costs be avoided like the ebola virus.
Rating: Summary: I loved it. Review: This book had everything you've come to expect from a Clancy. I loved it. One of the things I love about his books is his ability to have several story lines going at once and then connect them up at the end. This time however he had too many story lines. I think that the Mountain Men story line was totally unnecessary. It didn't connect with any of the other story lines and the book could have been shorter if that part was cut completely. I'm also pretty sure that Iran and Iraq would never agree to become one country
Rating: Summary: America good, rest of world evil Review: Oh my god. The only cause for me to read the novel was that it was the only book I had with me on my holiday. The worst thing about Executive Orders is that bunch of patriotic crap. America, again the only free country in the world, the rest is either evil (as China, India, Iran) or non-existent (as whole Europe). Why aren't the NATO countries involved in the little war, where's the UNO, why does no country help the US? Just because Clancy has to tell us that America is best and can solve any problem on its own. Additionally, 1000 abbreviations don't make this book any more realistic. Not to talk about that boring description of the tank battle where just persian and arabian stuff bursts in flames.
Rating: Summary: The Flaw Review: First Clancy I read was Cadinal of Kremlin and enjoyed it. So, I make a mad rush to the store to buy this utterly flawed yarn. The main plotters in Tom's hostile world, China, Iran and India, happened to conspire "together" against US. Yeah, China and India on a same bunk bed!!! Tommy, if you're gonna mix facts and fiction, atleast get your facts right.
Rating: Summary: Unimprovable Review: This book could not be better. Although long, the details and explanations give you a complete understanding of the events that are going on in Jack Ryan's world. It also helps you to appreciate how hard it is to be president in a hostile world. This book is not neccesarily for the thrill seekers, but rather for those who want a better understanding of how our government works in an exciting and painless way.
Rating: Summary: government with a bang! Review: Here he goes again, Tom Clancy at one of his best! The character of Jack Ryan is dynamic and explosive in the role of the president. Mr. Clancy takes him from the very edge of disaster to the peak of victory. His depiction of virtually closing the borders of the nation rivets you to the page, and leaves you begging for more! The ONLY name in the techno-thriller is Tom Clancy!
Rating: Summary: Could not put it away... Review: Have not read all of his books, but I'm quite sure no one of them will beat this. Clancy shows a tremendous sence of patience, when giving you the information bit by bit. He's jumping from one part of the world to another, waiting several pages before linking the acts together. Maybe the ending 2- or 300 pages could be compressed a bit... But I'd say: The best that could come from that side of the Atlantic...
