Summary: Good, not his best, but still good!
Review: Good book. Lots of vintage Cross. Liked the fact we got more Sampson. Hate the fact that Sampson calles Cross Sugar. What's with that?

Summary: Disappointing
Review: James Patterson is still the best writer in the business, but this time out is not worthy of him. It's okay and if you like the Alex Cross series you must read it, but it's just not up to the high standards of the first Cross books. Since Patricia Cornwell has forgotton how to write, and Patterson is losing his touch; who's left. Iris Johansen?

Summary: My first and last James Patterson book
Review: If I was still a thirteen year old child, I might have liked this book, but those days are long over and so was this book. It read like a dime store novel. The characters were poorly developed and the plot was too predictable. This was my first James Patterson novel and my last. I wouldn't waste my money.

Summary: I enjoyed it
Review: Though I thought the ending anti-climatic, I thoughly enjoyed this book. I did not find it boring, though there were a few spots where the plot dragged.

Summary: A great suspense-filled novel!
Review: I believe this book was written beautifully, filled with nail-bitting suspense and new twists and turns. However, I did feel the book was too realistic and there was never a full conclusion.

Summary: I s Patterson slipping?
Review: I have read almost all of Patterson's books, and while I liked this book, it did not live up to his other ones. There was so much blank space in the book. Note how many pages or parts of pages are empty. Those blank spaces could have been used to describe how the killers used DNA to frame the wrong people or to develop the characters a little. His plot was great, but it was like he just "mailed this one in". I hope his next one is better.

Summary: What a stinker
Review: I was just thinking, after I put this book down, I wish I was the literary critic for the NY Times.

I wish I could warn people about this total waste of ink and paper. Every chapter is about two pages long and the publisher used LARGE TYPE to make the book feel thicker. I believe the author knocked this out over a weekend.

The story is thin, there's no characters and I couldnt wait to finish it.

Bring back book burning, this is junk.

I guess you could say I didn't like the book.

Summary: WHERE HAS MR. PATTERSON GONE?
Review: The Alex Cross books have always been exceptionally well-written, carefully plotted and full of unexpected plot twists. In "Four Blind Mice," Patterson falls short in all these areas, giving us only a minimally enjoyable entry in this established series.
Alex's plans to retire are thwarted when his buddy John Sampson comes to him to help prevent the execution of one of his old war buddies, who has been wrongfully accused of three brutal murders. Early on, we meet the "Three Blind Mice" responsible for a series of staged murders, setting up military veterans. Why? And who is their big boss?
Patterson spends too much time on the love interests this time; they don't really help further the plot or show us anything new about the heroes. It's nice to have a lot more Sampson in this book, but Alex's relationship with Jamilla is so shallow, in comparison to all the other women Cross has supposedly fallen in love with. Add the mysterious illness of Nana Mama, and a couple of scenes with dear Kyle Craig, and you come up with a diversional novel. Patterson needs to remember what made Alex Cross so interesting and so successful.
This is the least effective of all the Cross novels.
RECOMMENDED ONLY TO THOSE FANS WHO WANT TO SEE ALEX CROSS RETURN TO FORM!

Summary: A misuse of talent
Review: Once again we see an author in search of some quick money turn out a potboiler that perpetuates lies about the military. Leave aside historically challenged background of the book, the poor writing and plot twists that must have come from the booze bottle and consider the basis of the story. The author would have you believe that Soldiers are by definition amoral sadistic killers supported and protected by their superiors.

I know, "it is only a story" but Patterson chose the story and the spin. So if you want to support blatant lies about the men and women who are out there daily to protect you and me have at it. However if you do not consider this type of trash worthy of your dollars I recommend you pass on this book.

Summary: So disappointed
Review: Patterson is one of my favorite authors. I received this book as a Christmas present. What a disappointment. How the innocent people were "set up' with their blood and DNA is never explained. The book is a miss-mash of thoughts and plots.
It is one of Patterson's absolutely worse books!
