Summary: 140 pounds lighter thanks to Bill Phillips
Review: Following the principals and techniques set forth in this book have helped me transform from 352 pounds at 42% bodyfat down to 214 at just under 7%, albeit in a bit more than 12 weeks.

The mental transformation required for this type of success is just as important as the physical and Bill grants it equal time.

This is a must read book for anyone seeking a physique and life transformation - take from it what works for you and leave behind the rest. You will be forever enriched.

Summary: Great motivation which people need today!! Jealosy reigns.
Review: If these past jealous dolts who trashed this book knew about the working population of America, they would realize this is the kind of motivation people need in this fast-paced environment. It is extremely difficult to tend to the kids, your job, the house, office politics, AND try to stay in shape. This book offers the inspiration someone like myself needs. I'm a former college athlete (lettered 2 yrs in baseball, 2 yrs tennis) graduated 10 years ago and with all the responsibilities that go with life, find it hard to stay focused on a good training regimen. Bill pushes you mentally to "get it done" since life is "no dress rehersal." So what if he pushes his products?? EAS makes some of the best, most highly tested supplements on the market today. So these people who are crying about Bill informing people about his line have NO idea what they are talking about. Why can't a guy promote himself and his products? It's what the world is about, so wake up people! Bill Phillips is good for people who need that extra push to keep on track. I go back and re-read not only my old copies of MuscleMedia but M&F and others for an extra kick of inspriation. This book is going to be an excellent source of good, sincere motivation for thousands of people for years to come.

I'm sure if Joe Wieder or Lee Labrada would have put out the same book and informed people of their products as well, there would be some malcontented, couch-potatoes whining about them as well. You can't win for losing with uneducated people, but Bill Phillips has put together a great book with good methods and great motivation. Of course there's not any ground-breaking new Ukranian excercise routines, we are only human and there are only so many things you can do with weights. Bill reinforces many techniques with proper form which is VERY vital.

Order your copy today and put it to use and you will see the results. Bill is not stating EAS is the only good product line out there, but believe me, if you want to buy supplements with proven indgredients you can rely upon, EAS and ProLab are the way to go. You get what you pay for with this stuff (eg. Optimum Nutrition and Pinnacle Nutrition and their recent test failings conducted by 20/20) and if you buy the cheapest, you will most-likely get the cheapest results. I use EAS, ProLab, and TwinLab products because they are the most reputable, highest tested companies going. Bill Phillips is a salesman, but what he's selling is a new lifestyle and a new attitude for America. You'll feel better about yourself and your entire life will take on a new perspective!

Summary: Critics...read it again....this time with your eyes open!!!
Review: I just finished reading this book. As always, I am impressed with Bill Phillip's style and message. This book is beneficial to anyone willing to take the message to heart. It will work!!! I am amazed at some of the negative reviews found here. I just can't believe these people even read the book. I gladly take his advice for the benifit of my life and the lives of those around me! My hat's off to Bill and his team for a job well done! Keep up the good work!

Summary: Wait for the freebie.
Review: I have been a reader of MuscleMedia for a few years now (starting back when it was Hardcore steroid central, MuscleMedia 2000) and I feel that this book is bascially a summary of past "letters from the editor" and "how to build bigger //insert bodypart here//." If you have been reading the magazine for a while, and have seen Bill's "Body of Work" video (highly motivational) then you will find all the same information here. However, for a novice with virtualy no fitness or nutrition experience, I feel that this book provides a good basis for starting a fitness program for yourself. It has quite a few tips and tricks, and categorizes most major basic exercises (with photos) according to bodypart/ muscle group.

If you are a beginner, this is an excellent way to get started. If you have been through the pages of a "Flex" or "MuscleMag" a time or two, I suggest you wait a month or two until the initial demand wears off, and I am sure this book will be available at no cost, just as the SPorts Supplement Review was.

Summary: A good buy for a good start
Review: I'll start with my main point-- this book is worth the 15-20 money. For one thing, it is invaluable in how it goes against misinformation, allowing you to start getting fit because you are no longer relying on faulty foundations. This book is great for people who would like to jump into fitness, because it is mainly a compilation of information that should pretty much cover it-- once you've read this, you have about all the mental tools you'll need. Don't believe some of the reviews below-- this is NOT an advertisement for EAS products (he mentions Myoplex a couple times, but a good meal replacement powder can be important), and it does not have hundreds of pages of filler (unless you consider exercise routines and charts to be "filler"). It does, however, have a lot of stuff you can find in Muscle Media (word for word at times, I believe), but that does not take away the validity of this book as a compilation of useful information. If you would like to get fit and you're new to the world (and it is like a whole new world) of fitness, I highly recommend this book. If you're established into fitness, and you have something that works, and you're well-informed, then this book will probably tell you things that you already know. For the rest of us, this book is a wonderful guide.

Summary: Excellent book!
Review: I am almost finished with Bill's new book and I absolutely love it! I have learned so much about weight training and how you can transform your body and lose much more body fat than with just aerobics alone. I like the fact that Bill includes his work out charts and outlines a plan for his readers. I for one, feel like I have finally found something that will work for me. Bill really cares and wants people to be the very best that they can be. Thanks, Bill!

Summary: Ever notice that the reviews are one or five stars?
Review: I read this book because unlike some of the other reviewers, I never read Muscle Media or tried any of the EAS line of supplements. I have been working out at the local gym for several years, hired several personal trainers and bought several diet program and training routine books. I can honestly say that I have not found a program that is easy to follow and not full of some kind of new miracle. I was very interested in Bill Phillips book when one my trainers informed me of its publishing. He told me that Bill Phillips breaks it all down into easy to an easy to follow program that I might actually enjoy. I've been trying the program for a while now and I can't say it's all that much better than the other programs out there. I couldn't take the Myoplex, not because of the taste, because I have had worse, but because it gave me stomach cramps (aspertame?). I am still convinced that a basic whey protein powder mixed with a well balanced, low fat, low simple carb diet works best. The routines are decent and fairly easy to follow but not much better than the old books I have from the seventies (take away the diet tips and those books are great). Basic exercises work best. Keep the movements basic and as long as you are able to keep lifting more weight, it's working. So what did this book give me? It had Mr. Phillips telling me that since he can do it and since others have done it, so can I. Really? Not as inspiring as some other reviews have claimed (I have a sinking feeling they may have missed out on any positive reenforcement from their peers or family). Mr. Phillips does push his line of supplements fairly hard and the critics are fair in their judgement. Is this program and book worth your money? Yes, it's not expensive. Is the rest of the program worth your much more valuable time? Probably not. I'm not convinced that EAS or the rest of this program is anything different that the other countless fitness programs out there. I wouldn't give this book five stars because it's just not anything great. I wouldn't give it one star because there is some good information for beginners. I have picked up MuscleMedia after reading this book and much of the information is the same. Every article in the magazine pushes EAS as does this book, that's probably the worst thing I can say about it because it makes much of the information suspect.

Summary: Know-It-All-Bill
Review: What an absolute GREAT book. He does it again. Bill Phillips, an excercise enthusiast writes one of the most complete books on life there is. Even if you aren't a big, bulky weight lifter, this book is for you. And it is guarenteed to motivate, inspire and get you going on the road to perfect health. This purchase is a NO DOUBT!

Summary: The book is easy to read and understand.
Review: I followed his program starting in Jan. 1999. After 3 month of intense workouts and following Bill Phillips nutrition guidelines I lost 15 lbs. of fat and gained 12 lbs. of rock hard muscle. I will never go back to my old self. Fitness has become part of my life because of Bill Phillips.

Summary: A GREAT MOTIVATIONAL TOOL AND INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Review: I have had the pleasue of knowing Bill Phillips for over 10 years now. Bill began to correspond with me when I was seeking specific advice on training and diet because I have to work around a kidney condition. Bill had nothing to gain from me (I can't take supplements) and his only motivation was to help me achieve my goals. He helped me and I believe that anyone that is fortunate enough to meet Bill will know instantly that he's motivated by writing and helping people. That is his passion pure and simple. Sure he's also a great businessman and there is a lot of jealousy out there due to his tremendous success but ask yourself why is it that he is so successful? The answer is simple. He provides a straight forward no nonsense approach to improving your physique and your life and it works. If you're looking to improve your body, your mind and your outlook on life you can do it. You really can and Bill can show you how. Give the book a chance. The worst that can happen is that you'll help some very sick children realize one last dream since the proceeds from the book go to the "Make a Wish Foundation". The best that can happen is both you and the children will realize your dreams.
