Summary: Tried and true training information that works!
Review: I am a former bodybuilder who has gained quite a bit of weight in the last 10 years. What I have lacked was motiviation, and encouragement. The training and nutrition program outlined in this book is what I learned 10 years ago. IT WORKS!! I received the Body-For-Life book from a friend, and read it in one day. I can't remember the last time I was so excited. Bill Phillips CARES about the individual, and it is evident from this book. As far as those people who say it's advertising hype, there are about 3 pages that mention Myoplex, as an easy and effective meal substitute, but it says RIGHT IN THE BOOK that you don't have to use Myoplex (or any EAS supplement or ANY supplement). I look foward to changing my life. You can do it too!! My start date is August 8. I'll be back the end of October to let you know the results!

Summary: Neither all bad nor perfect
Review: The workout and diet plan outlined in this book works, period, no doubts about that. Anybody who says otherwise is either whining about the effort it takes, or wanting to acheive a steriod look. Sure there are other methods that work, but you gotta pick one and stick to it. Might as well try Bill's way, given that its worked for so many people.

The fact that he pushes his products is neither here nor there, everybody's trying to sell something.

The worst thing about this book is the *writing*. Its sentimental, simple, and the man uses the phrase "You see," *constantly* which truly drove me up the wall. But the content is good, and that's what counts when you're reading for information, not entertainment.

Summary: You don't need EAS supplements to succeed with this program.
Review: People searching for the Magic Pill won't find it here. This program requires work, dedication and persistence. But the program does provide a structure to follow that will bring true results quickly for most people who stick with it.

EAS supplements are absolutely not necessary for success here, so don't feel like you have to buy this product to succeed in this program. For those living in the Northeast and in the West, Trader Joe's Whey Protein is far cheaper and gives excellent results. At GNC stores nationwide, Designer Protein is another excellent choice, albeit more expensive than Trader Joe's.

Summary: Actual proven plan that makes sence and works
Review: I used a modified (basically I didnt know what to do) program similar to this one before for a month. Why I failed is that I read too much conflicting information and didnt plan enough. I became frustrated because I didnt know if I was doing the "Right" thing If you dont know what you should be doing this book is for you, it spells it out easily. I start monday and I have alot of confidence because I have a full plan. And no I am not using his EAS supplements 2 times a day I might use one a week if I run outta designer protein. But you can do it with regular food cheaply and regular dumbells, a barbell and a bench.. it is super easy and the funny thing is it make sence. If you fail because you lack planning or motivation get this book. I am not a Bill Phillips employee either feel free to send me a email if you would like. I gave it four stars because it says that this book is for everyone and based on what I know this program may not be the best program for the seasoned lifter but would probably help maintain current form.

Summary: Great Book!
Review: In the 10 weeks, I've been following the program, I have lost 17 lbs and greatly improved my muscle tone. My husband has gained about 15 lbs of lean mass and has slashed his percentage of bodyfat in half!

This book and this program did the one thing that nothing else has been able to do, it got us off our butts and on our way to getting healthy. For that I am grateful.

Summary: I've found my Body for Life
Review: After 12 weeks on this program I have lost 18 lbs of fat, gained 7 lbs of muscle, cut my body fat in half and have never looked so good or felt so sexy and strong. Yes - the book is ad-like - but it's also content rich. What I like about his approach is that it is laid out in detail and you can put your brain in neutral and follow it. Plus its really motivating (if you have any doubt, get onto the EAS website and order the free video - I have not looked back since I saw it). I'm no sheep and I only follow plans that truly pass my BS test. This did. And as for the people complaining about the cost of supplements he recommends - I spend about $150/month which is about what the lattes, lunches, sodas, candy bars and random snacks added up to in a typical month - plus they replace 2 meals a day (I eat five to six small meals a day). If you're sceptical - buy it and see for yourself. If you're ready for a massive transformation in your body and your energy levels, sign up for his 12-week competition. Whether or not I win, I have already won.

Summary: If you follow the Program, you WILL see results
Review: I read the book the day it came in the mail. I must say that I was impressed. After reading all the reviews that said it was an ad, I was impressed to see that only about 4-5 pages even MENTIONED Myoplex, and none of the other products from the EAS line were even brought up. I strongly believe that if you follow the program, even if you don't use Myoplex, you WILL see results within the first few weeks. I think Bill is a good guy with nothing but the best intentions in mind and I am disgusted by all the bitterness towards him.

Summary: If You Are Even Slightly Out Of Shape, Get This Book!
Review: I've been following the program created by Bill Phillips for the past seven weeks, and I have never felt stronger and more energetic in my life.

Don't be scared off by the few reviewers here who talk so much about the Myoplex supplements the book recommends. This is not a "quack" program for losing weight. It's about becoming healthier, stronger, more confident and aware. I don't use the supplements he recommends (I use BodyWise instead) and my results are still nothing short of amazing. I lost two inches on my waist..from 36 to 34 inches, gained a couple inches on my chest, lost seven pounds and feel great. But more important than that, it's the first time since I was in high school sports that I genuinely look forward to my daily workout routine.

The magic in this book is Phillips' simplicity. As he says about himself, he loves efficiency. If you are a very busy person without lots of time to spend in the gym, but can make a daily commitment of less than an hour (actually just 20 minutes on three of the days each week), you'll love this program.

I like this book so much I am buying copies of Body for Life for my friends.

Summary: MOTIVATING!!!
Review: This is one of the best books I've ever read that combines motivating an individual to get the most from themselves with an effective program on the basics of weight training. This book should appeal to self help junkies as well as bodybuilders. You may call Bill Phillips the Zig Ziglar of fitness.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is an excellent book.
Review: Bill has done it again. He has produced the simplest and easiest book to read. More importantly, it is one book that you can follow and will impact your life. Congratulations Bill. Keep up the good work.
