Rating: Summary: Not bad - really hard to follow Review: I started off really excited about this book...I worked with a lady on Inside Edition at the time, and she followed this book to the letter and really got me into it. I wasn't to keen on taking the before pictures, so I didn't...I don't own a scale...but I used my high school prom dress as my measuring stick. To be honest, the book was difficult to follow...going to the gym 5 days a week was killing me, though it was for short periods of time...for myself it was very difficult to maintain. That is my problem though...working full time and going to college full time, it was really wearing me down. The other factor was that I was not used to eating 6 times a day, and upon pricing the EAS food supplements that were recommeded, I about died. Instead I went to Costco and purchased a box of MetRx shakes and used those instead, and they worked great. I did this program for 6 weeks, I never finished the 12 weeks due to some circumstances in my life. But I will say this...I lost a lot of weight! I was able to put my prom dress back on with room to spare! It's been about a year since I started that program and I intend to go back on it after Superbowl this year (for obvious reasons). I have to say though, I have gained some weight back...not all of it though, which most likely is due to my eating habits. For myself, the biggest problem I had was remembering to eat 6 times a day...being in college and working, food just doesn't come to mind until it's nearly time for bed. One can work around the time spent in the gym, it's recommended you go in the mornings...but at night is okay too. Wish me luck! I will be starting this program again Feb. 4th! However this time, I will measure myself...I'm still against the before and after pictures...I won't let anyone take them of me! LOL but I will weigh and measure myself this time and I'll try to remember to report back!
Rating: Summary: Where was the editor? Review: This book contains some useful information. I don't follow the program strictly, but it has helped me structure my weight training. I really like the idea of decreasing my reps and increasing my resistance with every set of an exercise. The real problem with this book is the quality of the writing. It is one of the most poorly written books I have ever read. Reading this book is like being trapped in the room with a hyper-enthusiastic salesman who just keeps giving you same pitch over and over and over. It was definitely written for people who haven't picked up a book since sophomore year of high school.

Rating: Summary: IT WORKS!!!!! Review: Bottom line, this works! I have been on this life change for only three weeks now and I am having dramatic results (lost 9 lbs so far, my pants fit better and I am getting stronger.). The whole concept is 6 meals a day every 2-1/2 hours with exercise 6 days a week. If you think that you won't have time for all that exercise remember the weight training days are only 45 minutes and the cardio days are only 20 minutes. I am not spending any money on any of the supplements, I only eat food. It is easy for me to cook one night and eat the leftovers for two of my meals the next day, combined with an egg omelet in the morning after my work out and a bowl of oatmeal at night I only need to find two other meals to complete my day. I am actually saving money cause we are not eating out twice a day. The thing that is keeping me true to this is the cheat day. Once a week I eat whatever I want. I don't know what this does, but man it sure does help. I would have given this 5 stars, in fact I give the program 5 stars and the book 4 stars. The problem is the same with any other health/diet/fitness book; it only takes about 5 pages to describe in detail the plan of this diet. Why make it into a [...] book. As for some of the other reviewers that say their weight came back remember this is a life style change, if you go back to eating a pizza every night you are going to gain it back, this, however holds true for any diet and not just this one.
Rating: Summary: My mom will most likely live longer... thanks, Body for Life Review: My mother bought this book because her neighbors tried Body for Life and the results were amazing. Mom has been doing it for 2 weeks and has lost 6 lbs already - she says the book is very motivational. Her attitude is great - she is excited about her potential to lower her cholesterol, lose some fat, and become stronger. She talks so highly of this book - now my sister and I are motivated to start the plan as well! I've been seeing some negative responses regarding difficulty keeping the weight off but there's no magic cure... once you decide to lose weight you have to stay committed.
Rating: Summary: A great plan! Review: This is one of the most complete work out books you will ever read. I've been on BFL for 9 weeks and have lost 20lbs of fat and gained tremendous muscle density as well as pretty good definition. I'm going to do it another 12 weeks and see how cut up I can get. This is a great book I highly recommend it!
Rating: Summary: Great place to start even if you're already there Review: I love this program. It is a great program for a beginner who has no platform to start from or, like me, someone who has been working out for a while and wanted to try something new. I enjoy the disciple required, both in the workouts and menus. I'm not sure what some people are referring to when they say you spend all your time in the gym--not true at all! In fact, it's quite the opposite. I had to work up the courage to accept a 20 minute cardio workout as good enough, rather than stay on the machine for 45 minutes. Anyway, I'd recommend this program to anyone who's able to stop making excuses and start getting on with thier life. Good luck!
Rating: Summary: All Fluff! No Real Content Review: It is sad to see a such a useless book get so much hype and publicity. Do yourself a favor and take 10 minutes to skim the book in a book store and you will probably get as much out of the book as if you read every word.
