Summary: Next Book in Drums of Autumn Series.
Review: I have read five Diane Gabaldon books in this series including the Companion. For two years I have waited anxiously for the promised book in the follow-up to Jamie and Claire's family in colonial times in the America. Does Diane have a book in the process, or should I stop looking and hoping? I am sure many fans of hers want to know. All of her books in this series have held my interest intensely. What a vehicle of escapism. Characters were developed so well that a reader feels emotionally connected to them. They seem to be people one really knows. I hope to make the connection again with these friends. I have missed them!

Summary: Not as good as OUTLANDER
Review: This book was quite good....very well-written and emotionally engaging. However, it was not nearly as good as its phenomenal predecessor, Outlander. The first part of the book which took place in France was, quite frankly, not very interesting. However, once Jamie and Claire went to Scotland(where they belong, IMHO), the action did pick up. I also thought that a lot of unnecessary and rather stupid things happened to Jamie and Claire. (Ex: Claire was forced to have sex with Louis, King of France!....PUH-LEEZE!) I didn't like the parts of the book with Roger and Brianna, who are,IMO, very dull, flat characters. D. in Amber was still a good read, though, certainly many times better than a majority of the books out there, romance or otherwise.

Summary: Dragonfly in Amber
Review: I read this book in six days (and a few nights). The book is pure content. I could barely put it down to sleep. Dragonfly in Amber is one of the most exciting books I've ever read. Each transition was smooth, falling into new and unique adventures Hypnotic. A very powerful book.

Summary: Dragonfly in Amber
Review: It was a great book, but the lovemaking was too vivid. I skipped most of those parts to save my virgin sentimentalities, but otherwise, the book was awesome. I wouldn't recommend it for the faint of heart or those who don't dig descriptive sex scenes, but if that's what you like, go for it. The Scottishness is awesome.

Summary: Escapism at it's best!
Review: What a wonderful story Diana Gabaldon has created. It all starts with the gripping, powerful tale told in Outlander and continues on with even more thrills in Dragonfly in Amber. I was moved to the edge of my seat in parts; left breathless in others. This follow-up to the unsurpassed Outlander is a masterpiece. Granted, it will take slow readers a good while to complete, but the end is well worth the wait. The cliffhanger leaves the reader begging for more. What relief to know there are two more novels written about Jamie and Claire, and their saga will continue. Highly recommended. If you've read Outlander, you must finish this series!

Summary: Not Worth The Time or Money
Review: A friend gave me the first book "Outlander" for Christmas one year. I read through it without putting it down, then immediately ran out and bought the sequel. Boy, was I sorely disappointed. It was long, boring and had none of the romantic escapism that pulls you into the first one. All long relationships experience strain. It's part of life. But if I wanted to experience a couple's tragedy & near break up, I wouldn't need to buy a book to do it. I can experience that in any number of ways in real life. Do yourself a favor, stick to the first book and focus the time and money you would have put into this book, into your own relationship.

Summary: Intriguing Scottish History for Our Heroine ...
Review: Claire and Jamie travel to Paris, and find themselves enmeshed in politics. Some of it sought ... to thwart Bonnie Prince Charlie. Some of it inflicted ... (you'll have to read it yourself).

In either case, their lives unfold and their love grows deeper, tested by a loss that shatters mutual trust and a reconciliation so emotionally vulnerable you feel it in your bones. And a love that now centers around Brianna, the child of Claire and Jamie.

One of them let go, so that their child could live. The other lived on, to bear fruit and nurture.

Summary: A Beautifully Written Adventure Through Time
Review: Ever since I picked up this book I was not able to put it down. It is a wonderful story about Dr. Claire Randall and her adventures through time in England, Scotland and France. Diana Gabaldon does a wonderful job of establishing her characters early in the book. I particularly like her style of writing in the dialects of the characters' countries. It's a sweeping drama, it's funny, scary, sad and exciting all at once. A fantastic read!

Summary: Excellent
Review: Was a great book. I loved it so much I could hardly put it down. I am a romance fan. This is a must read if you are also a romance fan. If you like this book I think you would also enjoy "Stolen Moments" by Barbara Jean Fisher.

Summary: *WOW* for the second time!
Review: I knew when I read Outlander that I couldn't stop there. I bought the second in the series and unlike "part 2" movies, this one is as good as the first. I read it at every spare moment and sometimes would sit for hours reading when there was a ton of other things that I should have been doing. I just could not put it down. I would read before bed and then immediately get up the next morning and pick it up again. I sometimes wouldn't even be able to sleep for thinking about it and would have to get up and read some more. It's books like these that make the literary world turn!
