Summary: Useful but limited
Review: I agree with Albany, New York. It is not easy to follow. Usually, the cassette/phrase book package also includes an exact script of the cassette but Berlitz did not include the script in this one, possibly to cut costs. I was able to use it because I had some German many years ago, but someone starting from scratch might get lost. The binding on the phrase book is of such poor quality that it started to fall apart in less than a week. The cassette has a little too much extraneous conversation in English for my taste. The format of a single cassette with phrase book and dictionary is good for the traveller wanting to get a survival level of the language in a short time, but this product could be improved. It was not as good as an old Berlitz Italian package that I have, or a similar format Barron's French.

Summary: They make German Easy
Review: I was heading for Germany in 5 weeks and had never even spoke a lick - well except for the occaisional "Danke"

This was great! I listened to and from work. By the time I made it to Germany I could confirm my hotel reservation and ask questions and directions. I could order food in a cafe. I could shop. I could take the train and talk to the cab driver. This really is a great on-the-go way to learn basic phrases to get you going!

Summary: Will help you in your two day trip to Germany
Review: This set consist of a small pocket phrase book that has useful sentences for airport transportation, lodging and dining. It is not for people who want to learn german for fluency. At least that is my impression. It will be very helpful for someone who needs to know several sentences for each place they go to such as hotel, restaurant and train station. Also, the CD has recordings on several of phrases from every two to three pages and it is not that easy to follow it. I studied German 4 years ago and got a certificate for Grundstufe2 so, it was not me but, the recording. Buy it for your few day Germany or a German speaking country trip. There are some other Berlitz products for serious German kanguage learners.
