Summary: Great Book!!!!!!
Review: I found this book to be totally amazing and a life changing experience. The characters are well-thought out and not in the least bit slutty or trashy like in most other books. If there is one thing I cannot stand is a story about loose women and how they have relations willy nilly with all kinds of men and even other women. But this story had none of that. It was a great adventure and suitable for children of all ages. My nana had recommended this book to me and I am grateful that I followed her advice.

Summary: Immature Narcissism
Review: I had high hopes for this book. At first they were met. The book opens well - but after the first 50 pages or so the story bogs down with its narrow focus on protagonist, Cannie. Although Jennifer Weiner has a generally engaging style and a good eye for detail, the book suffers from an extreme overdose of narcissistic tunnel vision. Maybe it's partly a gender thing. Being a man, I found the male characters to seem to be too obviously designed by a woman. Not just any woman - but by Cannie herself. In fact none of the characters, beyond Cannie, seem to have much personality. They only function as extensions of Cannie. Their only purpose is to serve her or [make her angry].

Cannie cries a lot - I mean that she is crying throughout the book. That gets very tedious. Some scenes get set up with seeming potential such as the confrontations with her father and ex-lover but then the men have virtually nothing to say. That's just plain deflating. Maxi, a superstar movie actress, meets Cannie in a bathroom and develops a completely implausible devotion to her. They go to Hollywood and OD on materialistic [stuff]. Very trite stuff.

I suppose that most of us go through narcissistic obsessions about our emotional well-being in our late twenties when Ms. Weiner wrote this book. Hopefully she will outgrow it and write something more three-dimensional.

Summary: Enjoyable
Review: Don't let the title fool ya! Not an X-rated book. Just a very enjoyable Chick Lit book. Great read for anyone with body image issues!

Summary: My favorite book.
Review: Jennifer Weiner is my hero. She wrote this book and in the process created some delightfully witty and realistic characters who I grew to love. Nifkin almost feels like he's my dog!
Needless to say, this is a book I read in one day. I couldn't put it down, nor could I stop tapping my foot impatiently waiting for her second novel "In her Shoes" to be released. They are both excellent, funny books and great reads. I recommend them both, but read this one first. ;-)

Summary: A winning debut!
Review: Imagine getting to work only to find out the man you love wrote an article about you for a national magazine! Now imagine the title of this article was "Good In Bed" and was about your past relationship. Ok so first you find out he is telling everyone about your weight problem in a national publication, then you read on, to find out this is a column that will be appearing monthly and guess who is the main subject of this article, YOU! A wonderful debut from this author -- and my best Amazon.com purchase since THE LOSERS' CLUB by Richard Perez. Two wonderful, lively books worth buying!

Summary: A Big Girls Fairytale
Review: Any woman that's carrying a few extra pounds needs to read this book. It is so easy to identify with the main character. She gives the chubby girl the advantage! Amen sistah!

Summary: Good in Bed is better than GOOD!
Review: Good in Bed is not the typical book that you can read in the break room at your office without many wide eyes and nosey faces inquiring about your outside interests, but reading this book is well worth the stares you may get in public. This book was about what women, who may not be "perfect", face in our society. Society sees the outside layers of a person without looking in. Cannie, a talented writer whose sex life and weight issues are exposed on the inside of a magazine, overcame the feelings of inadequacies and achieved her dreams, with the aid of her not so "normal" family, friends and Nefkin (her trusted cute-as-a-button dog)!

Summary: Enjoyable
Review: Good in Bed is an enjoyable, easy read with a sassy main character (Cannie). Some aspects seemed to be borrowed from Bridget Jones, Julia Roberts, and Sex in the City. But it was entertaining anyway, waiting to see how things would work out for Cannie.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Remarkable!
Review: I loved this book!! Not only was it hard to put down, but it was great to be with Cannie through her ups and downs... It made me both laugh and cry!! Must read for sure!!
