Rating: Summary: AWESOME!!! Review: If you feel that you are the only one in the world with problems, this book will put things in perspective. It is wonderful to read about a woman who is not so perfect. She is on the heavier side, she is insecure and so down-to-earth.She has a terrific wit. I enjoyed reading this book throughly. I read it in one sitting. I think there is part in all of us that can relate to who I feel becomes a "friend". I was very caught up in the book.
Rating: Summary: Best Book I've read in a long time Review: Finally a book with a heroine I can relate to! I loved it! It made me run out and buy her other book, In Her Shoes which I loved just as much!
Rating: Summary: It's about time!!! Review: Finally! At long last, there's a book about a "big girl" who doesn't have to become a size 6 (or 4 or 2) before she finds happiness! And that's not to say that our heroine finds happiness, necessarily. The great thing about this book is that it takes all of the cliches that you'd usually find in your typical "chick lit" and turns them on their heads. There were definitely a few moments when I thought the standard " . . . and they lived happily ever after" ending was going to take shape. Thankfully, it didn't. This book had all the ups and downs, comedy and tragedy of REAL life. If you are a big girl who's tired of never seeing herself portrayed in books, this one is for YOU!
Rating: Summary: A great weekend reader Review: I began this book on Friday night when I happened to be feeling under the weather. I stayed in bed until I finished the book on Sunday night, raptured by the fact that someone wrote a book about me. I saw my life passing before my eyes in the travails of Cannie Shapiro. It's a great way to spend a weekend, sick, and in bed.
Rating: Summary: loved it Review: Such an enjoyable book. I was truly sorry when it ended. It's nice to have a main character who struggles with and, ultimately, learns to love her "imperfections." I REALLY enjoyed this and am buying her other book(s) right away.
Rating: Summary: An Enjoyable Read Review: Despite feeling like I always had to hide the title of this book when out in public because people would think I am reading a 'sex' book, I have to say I really enjoyed the book, the writing style, and the characters. Very well written with a realistic edge and dialog. Congrats to Jennifer Weiner!! I recommend this book to all.
Rating: Summary: A must read! Review: I read Weiner's "In Her Shoes" several months ago and enjoyed the book so looked for "Good in Bed". I have to say that this book was wonderful. I laughed and cried; I was tied to the characters; I couldn't put it down. There wasn't anything that was to implausible to be real. This was a truly well written book - a must read!
Rating: Summary: Good Entertainment Review: I really liked this book. The story had just enough detail, and the characters took on a life of their own. At times I felt like I was watching/reading a movie...interestingly enough, Good In Bed is scheduled to air on HBO as a series... I will keep an eye out for it!
Rating: Summary: I Couldn't Put It Down! Review: I absolutely loved this book!! I actually came upon it by accident - someone in my office was returning it to someone else and asked me to hold on to it. Of course I just had to take a peek at page one and that was all it took! I really felt like I was involved with the characters - they were all so real! I actually felt bereft when the book ended. Cannie sounds like someone I'd love to have as a friend. I'm looking foward to reading more from Jennifer Weiner.
Rating: Summary: I love love love this book Review: this is the book that actually got me back into pleasure reading. i absolutely loved Cannie and Dr.K and despised bruce and the ----ing pusher.
