Summary: what a great debut book!!!
Review: "Good in Bed" was a great read. It's one of those books that leaves a bit to the imagination...which is a good thing in this day and age of countless novels and beach reads. Cannie was one of the strongest female roles I've ever encountered in my book travels. Bruce was a loser...plain and simple. I am mighty thankful for Dr. K and Sam adds a bit of goodness to the whole thing. I cannot wait for another Jenifer Weiner book.

Summary: HA HA HA HA HA
Review: So funny. So true and what a page turner. Finally a heroine who is as smart as she is funny and one is not at all embarrased to be like...and she's an American! Laugh outloud. READ THIS!

Summary: 1 part Jemima, 1 part Bridget Jones, 2 parts you or me!
Review: This debut novel by Jennifer Weiner is in a word - fabulous. I loved everything about it. Cannie (Candace) is an entirely likable character. She is 28, newly single, career-driven and kind of chunky.

When her ex-boyfriend decides to chronicle their love-life in his new magazine article titled 'Loving a Larger Woman', Cannie's self-loathing tendencies begin to show. An excellent supporting cast of characters helps tell Cannie's story and you'll laugh out loud as you read about this strong woman's path to happiness and self-discovery. Read it, I promise you won't be disappointed!

Review: This book is hilarious! It is a very easy summer read. I laughed outloud a few times. Very good book.

Summary: A Great Start...
Review: I really enjoyed about the first half of this book - the character's razor sharp wit, and the "real" feeling of the story. I didn't like the "fairytale" qualities later on - suddenly rich, semi-famous, friend to celebrities, the perfect man pursuing her, "getting back" at the ex... it just became too sweet and perfect and something that NEVER happens to the average woman. I liked her better when she was fairly ordinary and everything wasn't falling so grandly into place.

Summary: a standout in women's fiction
Review: In the shadow of the success of "Bridget Jones' Diary," the literary world suddently discovered that women like to read about themselves. A slew of women's fiction books followed. Many of them sucked. This one does not.

Jennifer Weiner has a great voice and a fantastic sense of humor (follow her current book tour at www.jenniferweiner.com). I only wished I lived in Philedelphia so I could read her journalistic efforts as well.

I read this book in practically one sitting: Unfortunately, one of these sittings was at the airport, where a man sneered at the cover, read the title and lasciviously asked, "Learning anything?" *sigh* No matter. The content was worth it.

Summary: Fantastic reading, I want more!!!
Review: What an enjoyable book! I simply could not put this book down once I started.

Cannie, our heroine, is such an engrossing character, very well developed. I felt connected to her as soon as she opens up the magazine in which her ex-boyfriend wrote an article about "loving a larger woman". I was routing for her the whole way through, and found the entire book very fulfilling.

Summary: Insults the intelligence of intelligent women
Review: I was eager to read this book, as I think that full-figured women are underrepresented in most of the popular arts, fiction included. It's nice that Jennifer Weiner's heroine, Cannie, is a strong and confident woman despite being "over"weight.

But in addition to being strong and confident, she's superficial, intellectually insipid and has the cultural tastes of a 15-year-old girl. Her emotional responses are predictable and housewife-ish; her star-struck "Hollywood" adventures are the stuff of Tigerbeat. The plot is aimless and disappointing, and the ending has absolutely no surprises. This book is for women who love watching Oprah and The View. So I guess if you're a fan of both those shows, you'll like this book. I thought it sucked.

Summary: Best Beach Book: Beautiful!!! Bravo!!!
Review: If you are female and have ever struggled with your weight (especially if you've been on the "high" side of that Perfect Size 8, and WHO HASN'T, except Super Models?), Jennifer Weiner's debut (can it be, this is her FIRST BOOK!?) novel is for you. You'll want to share it with your best girlfriends, your mom and your colleagues. It's the kind of book you cannot put down, with characters that you can instantly relate to. Prepare to grin, cry, laugh and commiserate with heroine Cannie as she deals with an ex-boyfriend, a new love, an unexpected superstar friend and a dog we could all love. Get this book, grab a Diet Coke and hunker down on the beach for an absolutely great time.

Summary: A great read!
Review: This book had me hooked in the first few pages. It was one those that you hate to finish (and wish there'd be a sequel)! The storyline was intelligent and funny,...the main character, endearing. A must read for anyone who's ever dealt with a weight or self esteem issue.
