Summary: JUST STARTING
Review: Today will be my first day. I have about 45lbs to lose. During the course of 9 years and 4 babies I have gained weight. I have also tried other diets to lose weight (Slim-fast, starvation, Metabolife, etc) I am somewhat disciplined but I hope that I don't get bored eating the same foods day in and day out. I hope that these two weeks show some results. I will keep you informed on my progress after the two week induction portion of this program. If anyone has any encouraging words or words of wisdom please e-mail me I need all the encouragement I can get.

Summary: Finally . .. a diet that works!
Review: I am at the end of my 14-day period, and I am amazed at the results! Just two weeks ago I was 197 lb, and now I am 184 lb! I had a baby almost five months ago, and I was depressed about the weight not coming off. A friend bought this book at Amazon.com and had it sent to me. I will thank her for the rest of my life. I have more weight to lose, but this definitely gives me the incentive to continue with the diet and see results! I never realized before how much I relied on sugar and carbohydrates until I went on this diet. It's an eye-opener. The only problem is that I crave sweets ALL DAY LONG, especially when I am stressed out.

Summary: So far it seems to work
Review: I really don't have anything bad to say about this diet.I have been on it for about 2 months and have lost 20pds.I have tried other diets and this is the only one that works for me.It can become boring eating the same old thing all the time so you have to be creative.No more cravings and feeling great.

Summary: The best "non-diet" I have ever tried!
Review: I was cautious when a friend told me about this book. After having children and gaining weight, I tried all kinds of diets, weight watchers, slim-fast, starving myself, with little or no results. I had heard bad things about a low carb lifestyle, but with 50 pounds to loose, I would have tried anything. I started May 1, and as of today, have lost almost 40 pounds. The results have been incredible. I have never felt better, and I am still loosing, even while eating foods I love such as STEAK, CHEESE,& EGGS!!! The first two weeks of "detox" were extremly hard, but after that, it has been smooth sailing. I used to have horrible stomach problems, but not since I started this low-carb lifestyle. Dr. Atkins book has changed my life. It is very easy reading and very encouraging. I urge those of you who are looking for a weight loss plan to purchase this book and give it a try! Good luck.

Summary: The diet works
Review: I have been on the plan for 2 months. I have lost 19 pounds and many inches. I am never hungry. My only problem with the book is the layout and not much said about the importance of drinking alot of water.

Summary: Just Starting
Review: Today is my first day, I'm 37, 6'2 and weigh 240. I went from 223 to 189, 9 years ago on the nutri-system diet, but I was a slacker and slowly gained it back, not the fault of the diet, but my eating habits. I feel I need structure, not just eat less and exercise. I felt I needed to be told exactly what I can eat, again, not the general just "eat less". I did lots of research and settled on this diet. I read the book and read it again, so I could throughly understand the process of what was happening to my body. I have heard the skeptics and value their input, but right now I feel the skeptics are wrong and I'm anxious to find out. I understand that you are to eliminate fruits in the first 14 days, and if this was for a lifetime, sure I would be concerned, but if you read and understand the book, you know that you can add those foods later. I will keep you informed of my progress.

Review: I never thought I could ever lose weight. I even had my doubts about this one until after I was on it for 1 week - I lost 5 pounds. And the pounds keep dropping. I love it.

Summary: My husband and I are very pleased with the results.
Review: When I began the diet in January I thought there was NO WAY that you could eat eggs in the morning without toast. Well, if you scramble the eggs, place a slice of cheese between 2 layers of the eggs, let it set a couple minutes then eat ...ummmmm and I don't even get hungary before lunch! My husband has joined me in this new eating lifestyle, we both have reached our goal weight and do not find it difficult to maintain. We adhere mostly to meat/meat products, vegetables and fruit in reasonable amounts.

Summary: Slow Going!
Review: I started this diet on June 28. As of today I have lost 18 pounds! I thought the weight loss would be faster but I weigh less than I would have without it. It's great that you can eat when you are hungry but it does get pretty mundane. There is not a lot of variety in what you get to eat. It does work if you can stick with it.

Summary: Words of Wisdom that work
Review: I would just like to say that my first experience with Dr Atkins was from a fellow firefighter who went to his NY clinic. I was incredulous at first but decided to give it a shot. Well I lost 55 lbs in 5 months and the firehouse lost over 400lbs in the same period. When ever we find ourselves bulking up it's nice to know there is an easy painless way down. Thanks from myself and those I work with. The book was an eye opening path to a lifestyle change that works and keeps working for you and your health. The results of our annual medical exams attest to your theories. Thanks Doc.
