Summary: I didnt believe it at first but 2 week proved it to me!!
Review: I am not overweight just unhappy about my weight, 21/2 weeks ago I weighed 141 i am 5'5 and not use to weighing that much. I just wanted to lose 15 pounds so I gave it a chance. I have not been able to lose these last 15 pounds in 2 years. Well I went down to 127 on my 14th day of this diet. It is so unbelievable yet it works. Now all my friends who laughed at me are now on it. Try It!!!

Summary: GREAT!!!!!!!!! Absolutely GREAT!!!!
Review: This is a wonderful book....I wish I had found it years ago...so I didn't have to go through the crazy and torturous low-fat diet that everyone is doing now a days.....This is the best diet...well, I don't even feel like I'm on a diet....It's absolutely great.......all my friends are wondering how I've lost all this weight...well, its my secret......I've found Dr.Atkins book through a friend of mine in August of 1997....I went from a size 10 to a size 5 ...in May 1998...I love it...the best part is that you're never hungry...and you can eat all the rich foods like cream, butter...all the meat, cheese....and all the green veggies you want and when you want(even late at nite)....I love it....and here this, I don't work out all week to get this great body.....I'm 33 and people think I'm 25.....this is the best program to be on......makes you feel good, look good, and very energetic....I think everyone should read this book...follow it word for word.....and they WILL see results...and its so easy to stick to it, compared to the low fat craze...

Summary: Loose weight and eat like a king
Review: Dr. Atkins Diet works!! I lost 10lbs in one month, and kept if off. I ate beef stroganoff, steak, shrimp, veggies, fajitas, salmon, lobster w/cream sauce, hamburgers w/cheddar and sugar-free choc. pudding!! I vouch for this diet, and If you know anything about weight loss, you should know this one WORKS!!! Do not go on a so-called fat-free diet! Read this book and understand more. Good Luck!

Summary: Easiest diet in the world
Review: I have known about this diet over the years and have used it to knock off weight from time to time. Like anything else, sticking to it is mostly a mindset, but this one WORKS. I started seriously after Thanksgiving of last year, and stayed on it through the New Year, (except for Christmas dinner and New Year's Eve). Just not eating all that Christmas stuff was a help to not gain a bunch of weight. At the end of two months I had lost 25 pounds and was getting compliments all day long. Easy to stay on and keep the diet at restaurants, etc. Good luck! (Now all these people where I work are doing the diet because they see the results a few of us have had on it.)

Summary: Don't think this is very healthy.....
Review: I have read the book, after a co-worker told me about the diet. I have not been overweight all of my life. I have always used The Scarsdale Diet. Since I've had my son I don't have the time to workout like i used to, so I have gained weight. I WILL definetly stick to Dr. Tarnowers Scarsdale diet. It is very healthy and you get the same results. Quick weight loss and feel great. So for anyone looking for a healthier diet than this I urge you to try that one. Lots of Fruit and Veges. No Starch or JUNK FOOD.

Summary: Works great for some people.
Review: I started on this diet two years ago and within the first 2 weeks I lost 10 lbs. I thought I had finally found a soution to my weight problem. However, the problem with this diet is that if you go off of it any weight you lose seems to come back double. I feel that Dr. Atkins is on the money when he says that processed carbs are mostly responsible for our weight problems, but I also feel that putting your body into ketosis does something to alter your body's fat cells and causes them to retain more fat at an alarming rate. I wish Dr. Atkins had a website so I could speak to him about this.

Summary: I was skeptical; but it works
Review: On 1/1/98 I weighed 225 lbs. I am only 5'8' so i looked bad and felt worse. It is now June 11, 1998 and I have lost 50 lbs. After the first 4 days everything seems to fall in place on the diet. I was not tired any more and did not have ups and downs in energy levels - in fact, I have more energy than I've had in years. The book provides an easy to follow plan and explains all of the physiology associated with the diet. I recommend it to everyone!

Summary: Good book!!! Nasty foods!!!
Review: I've studied this book from cover to cover. I have done everything that the book describes. I have lost 5 lbs. in the first week. This book does not seem very healthy! As with all the other comments, I feel very sluggish, tired and have headaches. My heart is trying to pump all the cholestrol through my veins. One thing is for sure, if I keep up with this diet, I'll die of a heart attack! If the author of this book happens to read this, please email me for any information you can pass along that would convince me to stay on this diet because I need to lose the weight.

Summary: The book is great and is a big source encouragement.
Review: Over 1 year ago my mother started on a diet and I couldn't believe how much better she felt and how well she looked after just 3 months. I had been putting on weight for years since starting a job where I sit all day. I started on the Atkins diet on January 15, 1997 during a wieght loss competition. I weighed in at 247 pounds.(I'm only 5' 9" tall) After 30 days we weighed again and I was down to 224 pounds(23 lbs lossed). I continued with the diet and continued to lose weight and inches. On September 1, 1997 I weighed in at 172 pounds. WOW! I can say enough about how well this diet worked for me. The biggest down side is that I had to buy new clothes. I went from a 42 inch waist to a 36 inch waist. I have put back on some weight since then because I haven't exactly stuck to it, but now I know that I can get to where I want to be with relative ease.

Summary: Get God on the phone because this diet is a Miracle!!
Review: Even if you don't understand the theory behind the diet, the plan is simple to understand and Dr. Atkins does a wonderful job summarizing the program at the end of each chapter. I lost 17 pounds in one week, and the keto-diastix that test for ketones in the urine indicating that you are using up fatty reserves are psychologically reinforcing, helping to motivate you to continue the diet. I never felt hungry nor fatigued. Follow his supplement guidlines in the book to jump start the entire keto-acidosis process. Protein Power is also a good supplement for this book. SO PUT DOWN THE POTATO CHIPS, GET UP OFF THE COUCH AND GET THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!
