Rating: Summary: good at first, but tired of protein Review: I have been on the Atkins diet for approximately 20 days and have lost approximately 12 pounds. At first I enjoyed eating all the meat and protein, but now I am craving fruits and vegtables. Anyone have any ideas on what to do. I did have one day where I ate pizza and I think it triggered the cravings. I know that if this is going to be a lifetime adventure, I will need to have a balance. Need to have suggestions on a "treat" that is low in carbohydrate.
Rating: Summary: It has change my life forever Review: I'm 28 and since 6 years ago I was trying to lose 16 pounds, I'd tried everything from pills to acupunture and nothing because I love to cook and to eat, I know that I wasn't fat but for my body and composture I was a little over weight. Now I'm a happy person, I have to thank to 2 doctors this change in my life, first Dr. Dittel a friend who told me about the book and second to Dr. Atkins the creator for this sociable, and delicious diet. It took me two months without breaking it once to lose 16 pounds, and after that came Christmas that I had to eat everything for compromise and even though I didn't earn a pound. And If I did so, now I know the secret of this diet and I know that for me it has worked perfectly and that I can eat what I like most without thinking that I'm in diet. Another thing is that I had prove the nutricionist doctors and the physical trainers that this diet has work, they have seen the results, and as them I had convinced my mother, and her friends that are making the diet themselves. I want to thank again Dr. Atkins for this change in my life, no I don't get exhausted when walking and climbing stairs, And of course my self steem is A plus, I'm the happiest woman in the world from been size 10 to size 4. Thank you for the secret.
Rating: Summary: this diet really works!!! Review: I have done the Dr. Atkins diet 2x in the past. I am now on my third go round. The first 2x i lost 60 pounds each time, but unfortunatley gained some of the weight back due to pregnancy and going back to my old ways of eating. This is a life changing det and now my goal is to lose 30 pounds in 3 months, which I know is possible because the 2 previous times I had a 6 month achievement goal. I wish I could tell the Dr. how much he changed my life. I know now that I dont have to starve myself and that i can control he way my body looks. I also have learned exactly hw the body works and it really is a machine and you have to put the right fuel in it to make it work to its maximum!!
Rating: Summary: The plan is definitely worth recommending Review: I have just completed my induction period and lost a total of 10 lbs. I still feel great and can't get over the energy I have. My husband and daughter are still enjoying the program. I am a little apprehensive leaving the induction period but looking forward towards the results. The best part, I have no gravings. I would appreciate any tips anyone may have about going into the OWL phase. I would like to thank my friend Carrie for introducting the plan to me. I'll keep you posted.
Rating: Summary: This diet rocks! Review: I have been on the diet for 13 days now and have lost 11 lbs already! I have more energy and am never hungry. Dr. Atkins explanation of why the diet works makes perfect sense. I have tried other diets and was on Weight Watchers for a couple months. I did lose weight but have always gained it back. The problem with other diets is that they are okay for a short period of time but not realistic for the rest of your life. With Atkins you slowly add carbs back into your diet and the book shows you how. I know this diet is going to work for me!
Rating: Summary: I can't believe how fast the weight drops Review: I have been on this diet for 7 days now and have lost 14 lbs. I have been reading his other book which explains why this process works and it all makes sense. I actually look forward to stepping on the scale everyday. That in it's self is a miracle.
Rating: Summary: good at first, gets real old real fast. Review: Meat, eggs, fat, cheese, nuts, etc. etc. etc. Yeah, it works. I won't deny it. I lost 30 lbs in no time. But, then, after awhile I couldn't stand the thought of eating bacon and eggs for breakfast--AGAIN!! I missed fruit and vegetables too much. To be successful with the diet, you must love the protein-rich foods and be willing to give up everything else forever. Or you'll gain it right back like I did.
