Summary: Enjoying book-just started and have a question?
Review: I have just started along with my daughter enjoying reading all the success stories, We both need to lose 40-45 pounds and seemed to have no success eating low fat diets. I was just concerned after reading eat right for your type(which details which foods to eat according to your blood type), Type B and O are to be able to be big meat eaters. Type AB is to concentrate on mostly turkey and specific types of fish. Type A is geared towards vegetarian lifestyle. I am interested if any of the big weight losers that followed Dr. Atkins diet are type A or AB.Or are most of the success stories from type O or B. Asking for personal reasons and general interest to see how factual the blood type diet is.I do not want to waste my time if this diet will not work.I guess type AB could concentrate getting thei protein from turkey and fish,although very limiting.So far I have eaten beef and pork.Any remarks? please post or email me tdl1952@aol.com

Summary: Easy Diet for a Jump Start
Review: The diet is easy for most because it allows all the 'prohibited' foods. I need to lose 25 lbs. and in 15 days have lost 12 lbs. I do feel weak at times, and add harmless carbos as directed. The greatest result besides weight loss is LACK OF CRAVINGS. But the book doesn't provide explanation of how to live without roughage. I'm figuring out how to transition to a lifelong eating pattern. Summary: Long-term weightloss results?
Review: I haven't read the book yet, but have heard alot about it. Does anyone know about the long-term effects of this diet? Does the weight stay off and do you continue to feel great? I have been looking for a great diet, but all the diets and excercise I do don't seem to work and I don't eat that much. I just want a diet that does what this seems to do but I want the results to last if I continue to follow the plan. Let me know if you have any info on that.

Summary: This is a great diet!!!
Review: I have been on the diet 1 week, and I have lost 8 pounds, my clothes are getting loose, and I have more energy and feel better than I have in several years. I am diabetic, and my sugar is stabilizing, I have been able to go off of alot of medication, and my insulin has dropped from 80 units a day to 15 units a day. This is a great diet and it actually works.

Review: I started this diet with great skepticism. i lost 30 pounds in the first month. I lost 20 pounds in each of the next 2 months. I went from 340-350 to 265 in about 6 months. It truely worked for me.

Summary: THIS IS A "MUST READ' FOR ANYONE WHO HAS STRUGGLED TO DIET!
Review: I've lost 18 pounds in three and a half weeks, and I feel great. I've been frustrated all my life, trying to eat less fat and less calories, with no success. I heard about this diet from four different people before I decided to risk going on it because it's often called a "high fat" diet. (It's really "high protein, low carbohydrates".) After you read the book, you'll understand how it works and that it's not risky at all. Atkins writes so that complex concepts are easy to understand. Knowing how it works will motivate you to try the diet, and to continue on it. I never feel hungry. I eat a lot of foods I like, and I continue to lose weight. All it takes is some focus and a little willpower, but not as much as any low fat diet. Nutritional supplements are important. Be sure to take them. I highly recommend this book and this diet. Try it. You have nothing to lose, except some weight.

Summary: You're never hungry!
Review: My husband and I have been on Dr. Atkins plan for 12 days. We both lost 7 lbs. in the first 7 days. We are both still at 7 but continuing on to see what results we get in the next few weeks. I definitely have a "lighter" feeling. I can't believe how you never have to be hungry. My favorite between meal snack is any kind of nuts (but don't eat too many!). I mix cashews, shaved almonds, walnuts and spanish peanuts. Also, if we want something sweet at night, I mix up homemade whipped cream with Equal on top of Jello. Yummm. When you read the book, it all makes a lot of sense. Also, I never thought I could give up muffins, potatoes, etc. but I don't even want them! It's true! My friend is doing the so called "Mayo Clinic diet" and she is still craving carbs (probably all that grapefruit juice with the natural sugar makes her want more carbs). I'm trying to convince her to switch!

Summary: Good ideas - but this diet is NOT for everyone
Review: My doctor perscribed this diet...I followed it religiously and took the proper supplements. I was extremely fatigued - longer than the book said I should have been. Towards the end of the Induction diet, I became violently ill and had to stop. I must be one of the 5% of people who can't be on the diet...but it seems to work for everyone else. I recommend easing into the heavy duty protein consumption slowly (before starting the Induction diet) if you are not normally a meat eater. CONSULT A DOCTOR, as this program can be a serious shock to your system.
