Summary: Inner You
Review: A Yellow Raft In Blue Water was a very heart compelling story. The novel consists of three different stories about each women andwhat happened to them in their life all tied together. This story was a was written in a unque style; I've never read a book like this. I love the way the writer portrayed each character with each themes in the book, like love and lonleness, and in another way the themes sort of tied the stories together as wel as the ending. The language in the book was blunt. Whatever the berson thought or said was written that way, even if there was some profanity, but the language he used was very much like the language we use today. I highly reacomend it to any one my age or older, because almost any one can relate to the themes that run throught the book. The book also makes you think about what's going on in your life and who you rally are. If you've ever had to deal with love, loneliness or the lost fo aloved one, then this is a book for you because you can relate to it and know what they are going throught, so the book is more sentimental to you then it already is.

Summary: Text in relation to Author
Review: I read this book four years ago in my Eng4 AP class and loved it. However, after reading Morning Girl, also by Dorris, in a college Children's Lit course and learning a bit about his personal life, it leads me to belive that there is a direct connection between the author and his text. This should not play a part in how one appreciates the language, but rather how one reflects on the content. It provides a different view of what is happening in the text and I think it is important to concider that view. Overall, my advice is to read the book, resurch the author and then read the book again! :)

Summary: A Work Of Art!
Review: I read this book in my Mult-Literature Class. I must say, I found it hard to put down. I loved how Michael Dorris got you into the minds of the characters. He would show how one persons point of view is different from the other ones point of view. It was really great! It's about 3 generations of women, who go through the good times and bad times, too... and really come together in the end. I loved it!

Summary: Read it
Review: I love to read and found myself unable to put this book down. I thought it was wonderful, one of the best books I have ever read. I would like him to write a sequel and continue their lives into the future.

Summary: ADEQUATE- BARELY...
Review: This novel was highly descriptive, and yet I was not impressed. However, this might be due to the fact that I read this after the superior "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" by Maya Angelou and "The Bluest Eye" by Toni Morrison (hail Princeton alumni).

Summary: A great novel for anyone!
Review: I read this book for my Modern Novels class. It was one of the best. Through the use of symbols which is common in all modern novels things are revealed that might not have been brought to my attention if they were presented in some other way. The characters were well defined and interesting in the way that their story was presented I recommend this book to everyone!

Summary: A Good read for Mothers and Daughters
Review: This book is wonderful. I just finished reading it yesterday, and I hated it to end. The story focuses on Rayona, Rayona's mother Christine, and Christine's mother Ida. The same story is basically retold from all 3 women's POV. This book shows us how important communication is with in our lives; not just for our benifit, but for the benifit of others. This story shows 3 women changing as they retell whay has happened to them and realize their own mistakes along the way. It is a story full of suprises and you hate to see it end. This is a definate read for mothers who don't understand their daughters, and daughters who don't undersatnd their mothers. If both read this book, they might easliy find that their "misunderstandings" are mearly lacks in communication. But watch out guys, this is a definite "chick flick".

Summary: It is too complex to describe in one line.
