Summary: Authentic Spanish songs that babies and parents can enjoy!
Review: I bought the CD because I don't have any Spanish heritage and want to assist with my eleven month old child's Spanish as much as I can - especially before her first birthday. To me, a CD like this is as good as the songs, and the songs are quite enjoyable and memorable. After only a month, my eleven month old "dances" to almost all of the songs on the CD. In fact, this CD is even helping me improve my Spanish a bit since the liner notes include all the lyrics. I now find myself humming many of the tunes to myself - IN SPANISH - and I can already sing many of the songs to my child. The origin of all of the songs are listed with the lyrics, and my wife fondly recognized many of the ones from Central America (where she is from).

Another nice feature is that the CD is separated into four sections, one for each 6-month age group between 0 and 2. As explained in the included brouchure, this is to coincide with the child's language development. For example, for the 6-12 month section there are a lot of "special" Spanish sounds that non-native Speakers don't really pronounce (or even hear) correctly (e.g. "Quien ira a buscarlas" has a soft "a" after "ira").

To me, the one downside of the CD is that about half of the 60 minute CD are poems and rhymes. My child seems to like the rhymes well enough and they have helped with my personal "Spanish lessons", but I would have preferred another 30 minutes of songs. In fact, I've burned a CD exclusively of the songs since they seem to have more of an impact on my child.

All in all, though, buy this CD and you (and your baby) will be singing its praises!

Summary: My son loves it and so do we!
Review: Talk about a lifesaver! With great renditions of classic songs, humorous anecdotes and tongue twisting rhymes, this cd has been a wonderful way to introduce our baby to the beauty of the spanish language while helping us to brush up on the language ourselves. We have been playing this cd for my son since he was born and now at 9 months old it helps to teach, entertain and even sooth him. We've bought several copies for other babies and their families. I highly recommend it!

Summary: The best available.
Review: This CD is awesome. I have looked for materials to teach my 3- month old languages and in particular Spanish. This is the best CD available. I just wish they had it available in more languages than Spanish, French and Italian because I would buy them all. This is great if you are trying to expose your baby to Spanish during the critical language learning period and beyond. The voices on the CD are wonderful. The songs are catchy. The background music is fun and soothing at the same time. A+

Summary: Fun to listen to-
Review: This is a wonderful way to expose your children to Spanish. Although it is designed for babies, I listen to it with my kids who are older (6 and 2). The songs are actual spanish songs, not songs that have been translated into spanish. They are short (great for the little ones) and the words can be clearly heard (not true for many language tapes). There are songs and rhymes on this, and the whole CD is pleasant to listen to, and will give your child a great introduction to Spanish. There is no english on the CD, so it will not teach your child spanish, but the words are all translated in the liner notes, so with an effort you can teach your children the translations if you wish.

There is a short book with the CD, and it is very helpful. It discusses how children learn languages, and the benfits of becoming multilingual. They also explain the different stages your baby goes through when learning languages, and how the various songs and rhymes on the CD fit into this learning.
