Summary: Another great book by sophie kinsella
Review: this was an amazing book.. it really showed the hardships of just starting out in your career. i could identify with every word as Emma dispaired over her family situations and how her cousin always manipulated her parents... and i could identify with how she was shy at telling people how she really felt... this was an amazing story with a great plot that people, especially young women can indentify with. I liked it better than Kinsella's shopaholic series and i hope she makes a sequel to this book.

Summary: Hilarious, Endearing and Too True
Review: Sophie Kinsella is one of my absolute favorite authors of all time. I was excited when "Can You Keep a Secret" came out. Somehow I knew that it would be as good as the Shopaholic series. And I was right! It was a fantastically funny and touching read.

The main character, Emma Corrigan, is your normal 25-year old and somewhat-insecure woman. She is trying to get a promotion at work, has a fantastic boyfriend, and is very happy with life, or so she thinks. On an extremely turbulent flight back from a business trip from Glasgow, Emma's secrets unwillingly spill out to a total stranger next to her. She ends up telling this handsome American stranger nearly every secret she has, and then some. When the plane lands, she is embarrassed but figures she'll never see him again.

When this American stranger ends up being the owner at her job, Emma is mortified and determined to act like nothing happened. But Jack, the American stranger, has other ideas. Emma seems to have touched him in some way. And Emma, who thought she was totally happy with her perfect boyfriend, starts to wonder.

I recommend everyone to read "Can You Keep a Secret" by Sophie Kinsella. It will keep you turning page after page until you finish it; Emma is a delightfully imperfect heroine that many can identify with. Make sure not to miss this fantastic book! Now if Sophie Kinsella can just write books faster...

Summary: Funny, Witty, and Addictive, one of the best Chick Lit books
Review: Finding "Chick Lit" to match the funny wit of this writer is certainly difficult. Written in the 1st person, Kinsella turns her heroine (Emma) into a lovable stand-out. Fans of the Shopaholic series will not be disappointed with the almost-familiar shenanigans of the heroine.

This love story is like a modern day knight-in-shining-armor tale, but with a delightful spin: the so-called damsel-in-distress is actually self-empowered and feisty. You find yourself cheering her on as she jumps from scrape to scrape in a delightful way.

Emma is a lovable character that the female masses can relate to. Fast-paced and funny, this is an excellent summer read that any woman can devour.

Summary: Predictable and boring
Review: I'm so disappointed in this one, because I absolutely loved the Shopaholic books. I read those in a day or two, but I had trouble getting through this one. The story is extremely slow until the very end. And I didn't really find myself too concerned with Emma's problems.

All in all, it's just too predictable to be a page-turner. Stick to the Shopaholics!

Summary: Slow start, but ends better
Review: This book gets off to a very slow start and is not as catching as Kinsella's Shopaholic series. The story line isn't revealed until about half-way through the book when it finally gets interesting.

Summary: another great book by a great author...

Summary: Fun Read!
Review: If you are a fan of Sophie Kinsella then you will most definitely find her newest novel absolutely delicious. Who doesn't have a secret? I found myself completely absorbed in the mindlessness of the story but hey, that's what leisurly reading is about. No one said this was going to be a classic. If you are looking for light, easy read then don't pass this one up!

Summary: pretty funny chick lite read
Review: This is a very funny book, especially the dialogue. I chuckled out loud a few times. I love flawed wacky main characters, like the one in this story. Easy to follow storyline, and very fun to read how Emma basically spills her fib-telling guts out to this guy she doesn't know . . . and he ends up being her boss! Oh-oh, will these many little lies get her in deep trouble and end badly? or will we have the happy storybook ending? You'll see :)

Summary: To all 'Shopalics' fans
Review: I can't wait for her next Shopalics Series , 'Shopalics & Sisters'. I have read all her books. They are all so funny, great summer reading.
Can someone recommend me other books similar to Sophie Kinsella's style? (I have already read brigdet jones diary)

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: More Great Sophie Kinsella!
Review: I liked this book a lot, though not quite as much as the Shopaholic books, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I liked the premise for the book; it was interesting and fun reading. I recently read that Kate Hudson is going to star in the movie version of this book... congratulations to Ms. Kinsella! The only other thing I'll mention here is that there seems to be a pattern in all of her books that the heroine ends up with an extremely wealthy man, out of pure luck. A nice thought, but how often does that translate into reality? That aside, I still love all her books and am anxiously awaiting Shopaholic and Sister - hurry September!!
