Summary: Sophie Kinsella Does It Again!
Review: Having read Sophie Kinsella's "Shopaholic" series, I was very hopeful that I might find a new set of characters and scenarios which proved to be, once again, extremely endearing and humorous. Sophie Kinsella has definitely delivered! Emma Corrigan is a very fun-loving, delightful, lovable, no-nonsense kind-of British gal. I find the predictaments in which she finds herself to be hilarious, yet so believable that I found myself getting embarrassed for her! This novel truly had the power to take me away from my current surroundings and escape into a world that always seems to become more comical and complicated than what I usually predict from the typical genre.

Summary: Great Fun!
Review: I really enjoyed this book! It was a fun, well written idea. I could easily put myself in Emma's place. I'm scared of flying, too.

Summary: Just as memorable as the Shopaholic series!
Review: I have been reading some serious stuff and wanted to enjoy something light and fun. And what better way to do that than to read Sophie Kinsella's new novel? I was skeptical at first. I mean, could this novel be as good as the Shopaholic series? The answer is a resounding yes. Can You Keep a Secret? kept me turning the pages until the late hours of the night. Emma is hilarious! The situations that transpire after she discovers that the man she'd revealed all of her embarrassing secrets to during a turbulent flight is her company's top dog had me in hysterics! Emma is just as self-deprecating as Becky Bloomwood. She has the same fun tone -- that unmistakable Kinsella style. And I liked her takes on office politics and how the marketing industry is like. The only bad thing about the novel is Jemima. Could a character be any more annoying?!

This has proven that Ms. Kinsella has talent that transcends the Shopaholic series. She has other stories and interesting characters to write about. But that does not mean that the reader has heard the last of Becky, for a new Shopaholic novel will be out later this year. Though it wouldn't have mattered to me whether or not it was a Shopaholic book -- I'd buy anything from this author. Sophie Kinsella has become one of my favorite chick-lit writers. I can't recommend this fun gem enough!

Summary: fun chick lit tale
Review: Emma Corrigan feels life as she has had a fabulous year though the Pollyanna young woman always sees the optimistic side of things. Still she has a right to feel great as she stays employed at Panther Cola for nearly a year and is seeing the perfect Ken-doll like boyfriend Connor. She even thinks she is on the right track for a promotion now that the opportunity has occurred for her to show off her talent.

However her chance flops and a desponded Emma flies home expecting the worse at the office. She vents on the plane to her row mate while flying in nasty weather telling her deepest secrets about her weight, NATO, and other things. The next day at work Emma meets her plane partner Jack Harper, Panther Cola CEO visiting the British Branch. Embarrassed Emma tries to hide, but Jack will not let her though neither knows where a cross Atlantic relationship will go.

This chick lit tale on the one hand stars a precocious witty protagonist, but on the other hand condones fibbing, omissions, and stretching the truth to sell a product. Jack is a wonderful protagonist, but one must wonder what is in the energy bar because Emma acts so childish at times. Still the audience will enjoy this often amusing romp because no one really knows Jack who has a secret or two to share only with Emma.

Summary: Its no secret
Review: Can You Keep a Secret? Is a fun book, with characters you care about, and feel like you could meet on the street. Just like Kinsella's Shopaholic series the heroine is charming, optimistic, intelligent, and is gripping with her insights and insecurities. The story is written in first person giving the book a personal touch. The set up of this story is very interesting. Emma afraid she is going to die confesses her secrets to a fellow passenger, only to discover he is her boss and a multimillionaire CEO. Now Emma must do every thing in her power to make sure that he keeps her secrets and dose not fire her. While not the next great novel this is the perfect book if you are looking for a happy, entertaining, lighthearted book.

Summary: Hilarious!
Review: Sophie Kinsella's "Can You Keep a Secret?" deals with Emma who works as a Marketing Assistant at Panther Cola and her encounter with a stranger on her flight back to London from Glasgow. Her plane encountered turbulence and Emma thought that it was going down and she was going to die. In her frightened state, she blurted out some of her darkest secrets to the good-looking guy sitting next to her. Some of her darkest secrets are the fact that she isn't sure if she has a G-spot, faking her Math grade on her CV, watering her co-worker's plant with orange juice, and that she thinks her boyfriend, Connor is a tad too boring for her. Suddenly, the plane landed and Emma thought that was it.

Until on Monday when she walked in to her office, and the stranger that she met on her flight turned out to be none other than Jack Harper, the CEO of Panther Cola. She was both terribly frightened (the fact she might get fired for lying on her CV) and embarassed. In fact, Jack was more terribly amused and taken by her. Soon, Emma began to feel attracted to Jack.

I really like "Can You Keep a Secret?" as it is such as fun and funny read. There are times when I literally laugh out loud. Like all her other "Shopaholic" series, this book is fast-paced and is able to engage its readers well. Her characters are well-developed and likeable. Kinsella is definitely one of the better chick-lit authors around. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a fun and relaxing read.

Summary: Not as addictive as the shopaholic series...But cute.
Review: I got this book the day it came out, because i was really looking forward to Sophie Kinsella's next realease. The book was still very well written and funny at times, but i felt as though the plot was a little predictable. The book is very easy to read but i preferred the shopaholic series. All in all, it was a good book but i suggest that you borrow it, not buy it. Before i purchase a book i read a lot of reviews to make sure its worth my time. I hope this review is helpful to you.

Summary: Can't keep this secret!!!
Review: Being a fan of the Shopaholic series, the day Can You Keep a Secret? came out, I had already rushed to the bookstores.

After reading it, I knew that my year of waiting had paid off. Emma Corrigan has the same fantastic personality as Rebecca Bloomwood [from Shopaholic], and her hilarious antics are garenteed to be laugh-out-loud [and I know from personal experiences]. Even though I still prefer the Shopaholic series, I still believe that this novel is something you don't want to miss out on reading.

Summary: A Good Book
Review: Can You Keep A Secret has all the makings of a good read. It is funny, romantic at times, exciting, and put together in an easy-to-read, fun fashion. You've got to like Kinsella's wit. She makes an approach that should be considered "done before" but it doesn't seem that way when she does it. Stories that would otherwise sound cliche, don't fall into that trap when Kinsella tells them. Admittedly, the book can be very predictable at times. Of course all this chaos would "coincidentally" arise when she has confided all her secrets in a man whom she thought was a stranger. Nonetheless, it is guiltess fun, worth the read, and very entertaining. Can You Keep A Secret is a good read. You want a GREAT read? Well, then you really should read Lucky Monkeys In The Sky by Michele Geraldi or a short list of other books (i put in listmania) that have been published in the last few years. Those books REALLY break ground and stay with you for a long time emotionally. But, certainly read Kinsella's book for some carefree fun. Let loose for a while.

Summary: Good! But Not as Good as the Shopaholic Books
Review: I'm a big fan of Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series and was very excited to pick up her latest, even though it wasn't part of the series. I enjoyed the book, but I couldn't quite give it five stars. Emma (the heroine) is fun and likeable, but she's no Becky! This book just lacked some of the charm of the Shopaholic books and the plot was a bit much. There was just too much going on and I sort of felt like some things weren't totally resolved.
Don't get me wrong, I liked the book! I definitely recommend it, I just don't recommend it as highly as I do the Shopaholic books.
