Summary: A Life Changing Reading Experience!
Review: The Most Inspirational Book I have ever Read! God Bless Iyanla!!!!Reading this Book gave me the courage to pursue my own Dreams!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This was a very poignant, heartfelt and healing book for me.
Review: I LOVED this book because it was a down to earth account of Iyanla's life before finding enlightenment of who she was as a woman, and a child of God. It was brutally honest and heart wrenching. Most of all it was inspirational, uplifting and encouraging. This is a must-read for every woman in America who has ever loved a man and who needs to learn to love herself.

Summary: A passionate book
Review: Iyanla Vanzant writes passionately and in this book she definitely engages the reader. Most readers will feel as if this and that is exactly related to their own lives. That's what the experience was for me. Another book along these lines which is very positive and has helped me tremendously and I must recommend highly, is Dietmar Scherf's "I Love Me: Avoiding and Overcoming Depression"--also available at Amazon.

Summary: EXCELLENT! IN ALL ASPECTS
Review: At first I wanted to know how this would relate to my life at this point of the journey. As I forced myself to continue to read, I also unveiled my former self, still alive with my new self. I will always thank Iyanla Vanzant for writing these wonderful, revealing, human books for all of us human beings.

Summary: I couldn't put it down
Review: Just like so many who have read this book, I, too, couldn't hold back the tears. I cried for Iyanla and even for myself when I noticed some similarities in our lives. Then I cried happy tears when Iyanla triumphed and slowly emerged as a woman of great insight after quietly suffering from years of abuse, neglect, and lack of affection. In the end, I was left with a soulful, lighthearted feeling knowing fully well that everything has a purpose in life, and that in the long run, my life, too, will miracously prevail in a manner that someday will make me look back, smile, and say, "I wouldn't have changed a thing."

Summary: This book is AWESOME!!!!!!!!
Review: I went to a recent convention to see Ms. Iyanla(the GOOD Mother) and she was just so deep that I sat down and wrote my boyfriend a serious letter because after hearing her speak andher giving little meditations, I felt like shouting(AMEN thank you JESUS). Then I purchased the book Yesterday I cried and I cried and cried and cried. Now I carry three of her books and my BIBLE and I meditate on the words and the meaning that it has for me. Thank you GOOD MOTHER!!!!

Summary: Too Much Like Interiors!
Review: This book reads alot like Interiors. I agree with the other readers who called it, "Interiors retold in a different way." In my opinion, there's not a whole lot of new material discussed in it and that fact made the book a big disappointment for me. Never the less I love Vanzant and will continue to read and learn from her work.

Viewed without having read Interiors other readers will probably find this piece as exhilarating as all her others.

Summary: Best self-help book ever. Shows you can go anywhere you want
Review: The book describes a person who didn't realize the abuse that life and family were dealing her, but always thought she did something wrong and deserved the abuse. How many women and men today have had that kind of childhood and felt they deserved it? How many have let it ruin their adult life. Ms. Vanzant shows you can rise above all this crap and become the person you want to be. I cried quite a bit through the book, but it made me heal. I didn't realize that I too had risen, but I still could go further and "Yesterday, I Cried." inspired me. I will read this again and again. I recommed it to everyone. Gave a copy to my daughter-in-law.

Summary: IT MOVED ME LIKE NO OTHER BOOK HAS BEFORE!
Review: I have read all of Iyanla's books; have listened to her sermons in person at Hillside in Atlanta and at C.U.T. in Chicago; witnessed her ordination on her birthday by Dr. Barbara; and hugged her at book signings -- still I am always in awe. While it surprised me that this book was autobiographical, Iyanla's story conveyed the hurt and pain with which I could readily identify, as well as the eventual, slow healing. Her power grew as did mine and this same power has been reinforced by the reading of this book. I can't stop feeling it. The letter to her son mirrored my feelings towards my own adult daughter with similar issues. I love you Iyanla - keep up the good work. Also, I loved the bathing process -- it works for me!

Summary: Uplifting
Review: Only the great new novel "The Triumph and the Glory" has moved me as profoundly as this wonderful book. I highly encourage everyone to read it well.
