Summary: stick to rayguns!
Review: I must say that the woman-woman bashing and back stabbing that goes on is more ferocious than any that goes on between men. Be warned-Noonan holds no bars. However, when she goes to make a case against Hillary I find that her "facts" are just not supported. I'd love to see a well-researched attack on Hillary because I think find her a conservative "Republicrat" who doesn't stand for liberalism like she should. But to label her a raging liberal? (As a liberal, I'm insulted!) Ms. Noonan should stick to writing worshipful "books" on the Gipper. They're not good, by any means, but at least that way her ... is benign. --This text refers to the Hardcover edition

Summary: More disgusting writing from a disgusting human being
Review: All she can do is rail against others. No redeeming qualities herself so she has to lash out. Noonan, get a life!
The Clinton years - the best in the history of the USA! I felt safe and financially secure until Bush took office and Clintons left. All you have to do is look at the state of the union during and after the Clintons. You can't argue with facts unless you are simply a propagandist not interested in the facts.
Bush will destroy this country and the during Clinton administration it was never better.

Summary: Opportunism Not Greatness
Review: "...she could do some real good, and at a crucial time, and doesn't" writes Peggy Noonan about Hillary Clinton as she describes the former First Lady's obsession with style and image over substance. This short book criticizes the "narcissism" of the Clintons and their need for power and adulation. Noonan mentions the various scandals and political power plays but it is a stretch to claim a "case" is put together. It may reinforce the feelings of those already put off by Ms. Clinton but I doubt it will convince any Hillary fans to become members of the vast right wing conspiracy.

The book is somewhat unsatisfying in its' lack of detail and superficiality, no index, no photographs and no notes. However, admirers of Peggy Noonan -- I am one -- will find it a quick and entertaining read.

Summary: Not Enough Pictures but, Still An Interesting Read
Review: I must be honest. I bought this book because I've got the hots for Peggy Noonan. I was flipping through the cable channels not too long ago and saw Peggy wearing a leather jacket on Fox News ('fox' is THE word!!!) discussing politics with someone (I couldn't stop ogling long enough to notice who). My clothes nearly caught on fire by the end of the segment and I knew that I just HAD to read ANYTHING she has been involved in. A quick visit to Amazon.com (after gawking at every picture 'Google' could find) led me to this book. When it arrived, I was dismayed to find precious little info or pictures of my beloved Peggy. I settled down to read what she had to say about the former First Lady and quickly came to the impression that Peggy doesn't care much for Hillary. This book was apparently written with the 2000 New York Senate race in mind that was supposed to be between Hillary and Rudy Giuliani. Peggy evidently is not psychic like Miss Cleo because she did not foresee Giuliani's battle with prostate cancer and the sputtering rise to prominence of Rick Lazio. The book makes her case why she feels (quite adamantly) that Hillary would not be good for New York at all. Much of the thought is dated now as Hillary is rumored to be a New York state senator now (I haven't seen her once outside of the New York City area spotlights) but, it is a great introduction to how my favorite hottie thinks.

Summary: Thinly argued, filled with "new journalism", no new facts
Review: Personally, I think the former first lady represents a dangerous combination of boundless ambition, cynical opportunism, a strong intellect, and Eva Peron-like self-deification. Ms. Noonan's book, however, written in the heat of Ms. Clinton's Senatorial campaign, reads like a hurried first draft dictated into a cassette recorder between media appearances. Noonan replicates the worst trait of the "new journalism" by mixing pure speculation about what might have gone on inside of her subject's mind with "hypothetical" (read "made up") quotations, amidst some factual material. The "current events" category often yields breathless story telling, and this book has little lasting value beyond the heat of the moment. Worse, in those areas where we might fairly expect some new, insider knowledge about key scandals (the health care debacle, for example), Noonan tells us much less than we learned in the reportage of the times. While she shines brightly as a speechwriter, Ms. Noonan does not meet even minimum standards as a journalist.

Summary: MORE FUN THAN A BARREL OF MONKEYS!
Review: I love this book! It is Peggy Noonan at her finest as she skewers that lovable, large-hipped leftist known as Hillary Clinton. I truly believe that open-minded liberals (oxymoron?) will appreciate Noonan's ascerbic style as she sets the stage for Hitlery to tell off the Hollywood socialists at a meeting, proving herself to be a woman of integrity and mettle. Read the book to see how beautifully this scene plays out.

To give this book fewer than five stars is a shame! The reader must jettison misplaced anger and defensiveness to enjoy this fine journalistic effort. True, the kind and coy Hillary is effectively portrayed as ruthless, egotistical, and well, ok, a little maniacal. But it is also true that this book is great fun to read and you will find yourself laughing (or weeping) out loud at the sorry state of liberal politics.

To sum up, Peggy Noonan is one of the truly great political writers of our day and, unlike Hillary, she actually writes her own stuff! Get this book today and give it a prominent place in your library. You'll reach for it again and again as those wacky, slaphappy Clintons insinuate themselves into every situation for attention and face time. Which reminds me...never get between Bill and a camera or you risk serious bodily injury!

Summary: disappointing
Review: Short on facts, big on the author's imagined version of events, both past and "future". The author "plays" with the reader by presenting scenarios which turn out to be the author's imaginings of how events COULD have played out. Very little in this book is based on fact. I am certainly not a fan of Hilary but this book is simply ridiculous and unfair.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: More Clinton bashing
Review: Predictable Clinton bashing by a right-wing patriarchal woman. She wants the Clintons to fade into the sunsent and play golf like Ford, or go to Japan and sell themselves for $2,000,000.00 like the Reagans... it's so galling to her that they actually want to participate in the social process... get a life Peggy.

Summary: Another hatchet job from the far right
Review: Hillary Clinton is a smart woman and Noonan doesn't like her. So what? If Noonan is anything like the Ronald Reagan speeches, she's living in her righteous right WASPy wonderland. Good luck.

Summary: Not a very good "Case" aganist Ms. Clinton!
Review: The title of this book claimed a case, looks like sour grapes to me!Lets be more compassionate towards our current and future leaders of the truly new world order.
