Summary: Pounds the obvious home
Review: Self-improvement is necessarily about finding some secret formula, getting the right therapist, or moving to a new city. It's about being told those thing you know to be true over and over until they sink in. Feel the Fear is about those things we know to be true yet seem to forget: Blaming others for our failures, blaming ourselves for things we should have done better, listening to that "little voice" that tells us what we shouldn't do.

It's not the kind of book you read once only to emerge a changed person, rather, it gets your mind going. After one reading, you'll find yourself quoting passages as if someone has "found you out". You will catch yourself in conversation when you say weak phrases like "I can't, I should, It's a problem" only to change them mid-sentance to empowering words such as "I won't, I could, and It's an opportunity".

Read it twice. It will impact you deeply. It will teach you to take responsibility. There is no silver bullet. Self-awareness is the real path to self-improvement. I loved it.

Summary: Empowering!
Review: I was going through loss of a job and a job search, and had been scared and depressed for months. A good friend lent me this book and urged me to read it. I've never been one for self-help books, but WOW! It was just what I needed at the right time in my life. It is very easy to read, and the concepts in it - "you are in control of your thoughts and actions and can handle whatever life gives you" - are so simple and powerful! I wish I had read it years ago. It has helped me to make a difference in my approach to life.

Review: Again..."The best self-help book I ever read" but this time I truly mean it. This book has changed my life for good. Can't say more because I have no time. I am going out to confront my fears and enjoy my life to maximum without breaking someone's heart or breaking the law.

Summary: The Shortest Distance Between Two Points is a Straight Line
Review: This is a truly wonderful book. I don't know how she did it. Conversationally speaking, did you know that the fears we carry in our pockets or purses that are not dealt with cause excruciating anxiety. What do we do? Add Vitamin B to our diet? Put crystals in our pockets? Become a yogi like me and levitate until your head hits the ceiling? OR...we could do what we fear. How about that for an idea. I think they spell that C-O-U-R-A-G-E. We don't need courage anymore. We have tranquilizers and self-help books. I want to give you a beautiful quote from this lady's infinite wisdom (she's incredible!). PUSHING THROUGH FEAR IS LESS FRIGHTENING THAN LIVING WITH THE UNDERLYING FEAR THAT COMES FROM A FEELING OF HELPLESSNESS. This book is just beautiful. The book advocates COURAGE. But she she shows you how to be courageous. Postive thinking, the understanding between Pain and Power, the Real truth about RISKS and GROWTH. You have to buy this book. It is a true gemstone. Throw all your other self-help books away except this one and "Self-Help Stuff That Works" by Adam Khan. Since I am a Self-Realizationist (Yogananda), this book interfaces with it quite beautifully. But this book is all you need for your fears. Go ahead. And stop looking at whether you had a traumatic childhood or not as Father Bradshaw advises. You destroy the past by what you do in the future. And this book will help you do it. Good luck. And I'm not afraid of you anymore! HA!

Summary: I found this book to be a practical and valuable tool.
Review: I was given this book by my older sister when I had reached an impasse in my life, where I felt that noone could understand what I was experiencing internally, and I could not seem to move on to the next "chapter." Too much in my life seemed out of my control. It was fear that kept me from reaching outside of this zone of powerlessness. Once I began to read this book, I began to clearly see that my fears were not unfounded, yet I had allowed them to assert too much influence on my outward behavior. I not only finished the book in two days, I dedicated my life to Christ and I have not allowed myself remain stagnant in any area of my life for very long. I allowed a former friend to borrow my book and he has made excuse after excuse for not returning it! Obviously the information contained is of great value to him as well! This is a MUST HAVE book for us all, to be re-read occasionally for reinforcement of the principles contained therein, to combat and destroy those "inner voices" and demonic entities that attempt to convince us that "WE CAN'T" reach our goals. BUY IT TODAY! Thank you Cynthia, for giving me such a gem. And to Mr. Faulk, cough up my property pronto, because you've monopolized it for too long!

Summary: Not a must have book...
Review: It seems too strange to see those raving possitive reviews,

After reading over 100 self help books and 3 books related to overcomming fear. I think this book is very simple and does not really have anything powerful insights.

For example if you want to do some affirmations everyday or hype yourself up that you can "do it anyway"... than this book is for you.

I personally recomend the "sedona" book. it will set you free and let you deal with fear in a much more unique and effective way.

Summary: Feel the Fear and Embrace Your Life. Excellent Book!
Review: I bought this wonderful book many years ago, and have recommended it to countless people. Susan Jeffers does a truly remarkable job to help you recognize the doubts, insecurities, the "chatterbox" in your mind, and helps you to face your fears squarely so you CAN move beyond them.

Written with heartfelt and genuine compassion, this book is outstanding for anyone who feels fear in the constant change of life. Fear CAN be overcome. Jeffers provides wonderful exercises, analogies, and charts with great information such as: "Seven Ways to Reclaim Your Power" which are (quoted from the book) Avoid casting blame on an external force for your bad feelings about life... " Avoid blaming yourself for not being in control..." "Be aware of when you are playing the victim role..." "Familiarize yourself with your biggest enemy - your Chatterbox..." "Figure out payoffs that keep you stuck...(so you will be) able quickly to become 'unstuck'" "Determine what you want in life and act on it..."

Jeffers provides wonderful tools to help you have a balanced life, in all areas in the chapter: "How Whole is Your 'Whole Life'". Her "say Yes to Your Universe" topic is entirely helpful to keep you in the moment, where you are empowered to move forward with acceptance. You ARE in charge, no matter what circumstances are facing you, you do carry the ability to determine how you are going to respond to it, by either "playing the victim" or moving forward as you CHOOSE to.

I absolutely love the page in the back of the book "The Choice is Mine" where she gives great one line awareness of "When I am Tuned Into My Chatterbox" and "When I am Tuned into My Higher Self" (I'll just give you the first line) "I try to control" "I trust."

Susan Jeffers' work is authentic and invaluable. If you feel fear in your life, this book will help you move forward.

Summary: "The title says it all"
Review: Basically there are 2 types of fears:

1. Useful fear. For example: The fear of doing something dangerous
2. Useless fear: For example: Fear of public speaking.

This book shows us how to overcome useless fear. It shows us that it's ok to be fear. All of those dare devils are also afraid, yet the fear the fear and do it anyway!

Remember this "Nothing great has ever been accomplished without stretching"

Summary: A healing book.
Review: This book gives important advice and strategies on how to fight
defeatist thought patterns, especially fear, that usually hinders
human endeavours or even normal life.

I highly recommend this book if and only if you are serious about
doing all the exercises. If you can do that, you are guaranteed
to deal effectively with your fear.
