Summary: For the Roses
Review: This was an excellent book. I love historical romances and was pleased that this one was about America in the 1800's. The writing was exceptional and I became in love with the Clayborne family. I have just completed my order for the remaining 4 books that I did not have of Julie Garwood. This will complete my collection. This book told a wonderful story of love, family, committment, and honor. I am really impressed with this authors writing. I can't wait until I get the last four. I read her books in one day. I can't put them down. Julie Garwood, "you go girl". You are an excellent writer and I read about 20 books a month and this one was exceptional. Thank you.

Summary: A GREAT BOOK!
Review: This was the first Julie Garwood book I have read. The characters were well defined and unique; the story-line was excellent and moved quickly from the beginning. It was one I could not put down easily, and found myself reading it into the early morning hours of the night. Garwood has a real talent in humorous dialogue -- I laughed histerically all the way through, and cried right along with the characters as well. Being an avid reader, I found it difficult to read another book after completing this one...just hated for it to end! Now, I cannot wait to read more of Julie Garwood's books. She has made me a lifetime fan. Next: The Clayborne Brides, one by one.

Summary: Couldn't put it down...
Review: WOW! I started reading this book at 11pm when I couldn't sleep. After almost 3 hours I realized that I really had to put it down and get some rest. I finished the book this evening and plan to buy more books by the author. The characters were fun, the writing style was entertaining and the plot kept you moving rapidly along. What a treat!

Summary: It was pretty good
Review: I liked the book, I always enjoy Julie Garwood's novels, but I sometimes hate how the heroine is so flaky. In this novel Mary Rose (heroine) at times was just plain stupid. The situations she got herself into were just so unrealistic and she sounded at times like a airheaded twit. I like novels where the girl is intelligent and witty, like in Honour's Splendor, and Castles. I still enjoyed the book, but I would have loved it the heroine would have been more well developed. The brothers were fun and so was Harrison. But it bothered me that through out the book they kept talking about the cook and how Harrison would meet him when he was ready to be met but through the whole novel Harrison never met the infamous cook and I thought that that would have been better either left out or just meeting the damn cook.

Summary: wonderful!
Review: This book was one of my all time favorites. The story was full of interesting twists, that keep a reader glued to the book. I fell in love with the characters. Julie Garwood is my favorite author.

Summary: For The Roses
Review: Over the years I have read many romance books, and I have like some, and then there are the ones I wasn't crazy about.

Even though I read FOR THE ROSES some years ago, I can still remember to this day. It is one of my favorite romance books. It is always on my top ten list. I know Julie Garwood wrote, the little sequels, ONE PINK ROSE, ONE RED ROSE, and ONE WHITE ROSE were good, but not as good. COME THE SPRING was great, but of the 5 books, FOR THE ROSES was the best.

Summary: A Very Touching Story
Review: I loved the way this book was written. How these four boys decided not to let a little baby suffer and feel unwanted as they had, they gave her all their love. The ending was exciting, Harrison is one heck of a man! I would love to see more books about this family and I would also like to know if its a boy or a girl. :)

Summary: Garwood does it again!
Review: For the Roses is SOOO worth the money!! I didnt have one time while reading where I wanted to 'skim' it... A child is found in a alley by four gang members and they raise her as their sister and adjust their lives to do their best to bring her up as a lady. Each brother is different in their own way and all four put together just make you wish you grew up with brothers such as them :) The book is really long so it just keeps going on and on, it was well worth losing a nights worth of sleep!! Now if we could only get her to write books off of each brother - that would be awesome!!

Summary: Stimulating & Endearing...
Review: "Blood is thicker than water"... but it isn't the case in this endearing book. For the Roses surely proved that a family can be strongly bonded through the years of love and taking care of each other. Family can be create not only formed by blood. Aside from the family values, the romantic story of Rose & Harrison added spice to the whole book. Mary Rose's discovery of her real father and their initial meeting was a tear jerker. I was once again in tears when I read the part of Mary Rose adjusting to her new family. J.G. described each scenes and emotions so perfectly that I feel like I am part of the book itself. I have many favorite scenes in this book but I have to hold back telling it, otherwise, I will give it away and ruined it for those who haven't read the book just yet.

I have read more than 10 of J.G.'s books and this is definitely one of my favorite. I am now in the third novel of the Clayborne Brides, which is part of this series. So far, I am not disappointed... here is how the series follows: For the Roses -----then--------> Clayborne Brides: 1st novel: One Pink Rose 2nd novel: One While Rose 3rd novel: One Red Rose ------last----------> Come the Spring

Hope that helps, Enjoy!

Summary: It's magic. Definitely worth your money.
Review: This is one of my favourite Julie Garwood books, and one of my favourite romances. What I like best is that it's not just a romance novel; in fact, the romance story almost seems secondary to the main story, which is about family and friendship. It was a beautiful story, full of rich characters with distinct personalities and quirks. There were times when I laughed, and times when I felt like crying for these amazing characters.

It's a truly unique and wonderful story. I highly recommend it. However, I strongy advise AGAINST watching the movie "Rosehill," which was based on this book. The only similarities between Garwood's lovely story and the movie were the names of the characters, and even some of those were changed.
