Summary: Amazing and thought provoking!
Review: This was one of the best Julie Garwood books I have EVER read! I kept putting off reading For the Roses because personally I am a fan of her highlander ones...but this book was absolutely amazing. Who thinks about what would happen when 4 young boys all under the age of 14 raise a little girl..and themselves, all alone with only the help of Mama Rose, a slave who writes letters from the South during and after the Civil War? The love story was sweet and well paced and you found yourself falling in love with the Claybourne brothers...I was so relieved to find they all had their own books too! Trust me, all fans of romance..you do not want to miss this one. Its much more than just a romance and gives you nonstop laughs and its the most heartwarming book I have ever read. You won't be disappointed! (( It was also made into a Hallmark film, 'Rosehill' , but read the book instead...much much better..of course! :D ))

Summary: A witty family woven into a great lovestory.
Review: I absolutely loved this book. It was witty and charming. This was a family at it's best. I loved the spirit and open-mindedness of these amazing people. The book was about Mary Rose, but I promise that you will fall in love with the whole family before you finish reading it. Her brothers' love for her and their need to protect her was endearing. Compassion, loyality, love, respect, and honor are all displayed throughout this incredible family saga and lovestory. I can't wait to read the rest of the series and find out what happens to these great characters. Keep up the great work, Ms. Garwood!

Summary: A Rose Fan
Review: I read For the Roses and the other books in the series a few years ago and I have re-read them because they are that good.
Although I do like romance this is not just a romantic story it much more than that. It about family and love and respect, I loved it.
The reason why I have taken the time to write this review is I have just seen the movie ROSEHILL that was adapted by Hallmark (WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT THAT WAS). Avoid at all cost, the essence and heart of the story has being destroyed the humour was taken out of the story, you would not recognise Mary Rose who was made out to be a jealous person who disregarded the men who raise her.The men did not appear to really bond together like in the book, what happen to Harrison he did not exist in the movie and the most unforgivable act was that they KILL OFF COLE. Enjoy the book forget the movie trust me on this one.

Summary: The Best Book I've Ever Read
Review: I first read this book many years ago and I still continue to reread it till this day. It's a romance story that will withstand the test of time. I laughed and I cried the first time I read it and I still laugh. The characters are very visible and alive which is made possible by Garwoods amazing writing talent. I will recommend this book to anyone that enjoys reading about families that will love forever. I guarantee that this book will far surpass your expectations of any romance novel that you have ever read. After after you read it you will want to sneak and read it again. You should check out the other books about the Claybourne family such as: One Red Rose, One White rose, One Pink Rose, and Come the Spring.

Summary: I am glad I read it.
Review: I am truly glad I read this book- there was more to it that just a romance story (what the other reviewers have said is true- there is love, trust, respect, and loyalty). 4 boys that are living on the street come across a basket carrying a 4 month old little girl. Something inside of them helps them to decide that they want more out of life and that this little girl needs them and desires a chance to live. They come together to form a family and show devotion and love towards one another. After several years the English family has given up looking for their little girl that was kidnapped from them. But their attorney is devoted to them and continues the search- by continuing to check out claims that come across his desk. For this reason he decides to check a claim that leads him across the ocean to Montana- unknowning to him that he is about to lose his heart.
To the reader that was not able to finish- you missed out. There is love, humor, and suspence. You find yourself spending the night in a cave during a rainstorm, traveling across the ocean to meet a family that's about to meet their baby girl that they don't know exist, in a court room during a murder trail with the hanging judge presiding. There's not a dull moment. There were only two things that I would have liked to known the answer about- why did the person take the baby in the first place and what was Harrison's and Mr. Elliott's reaction when they found out Mary Rose was expecting a baby? I know they would have been joyful but I would like to have read about it.

Summary: For the ones with no life . . .
Review: I must say that this was the most unappeasing and most boring of Julie Garwood's work ever to grace the bookshelves. I know that's harsh but this book really didn't have any motivation. Everything that the author wrote didn't seem to make the story go forward. Now I liked the characters and even the plot but the problem was there really wasn't much in the dialog that attracted me to finish this book. I got the first love scene and decided I'd had enough because it wasn't even the middle of the book and the hero and heroine were already in love and usually you read the stories to see how a couple will end up together. They were already together by the middle of the book and all that needed to be solved was the birthright and father to Rose (i think that was her name) and it was all too blatently obvious. Anyway, anything else og JG I recommend but defintely NOT this one unless you're that bored and have a lot of time on your hands to read a long and tedious book.

Summary: For the Roses
Review: This is a great book. I read the Clayborne Brides first and had to go out and get this book. It is wonderful to read how the Clayborne family supports each other no matter what circumstances come there way.
Julie Garwood makes the characters come alive and wish you were apart of this little family.
