Rating: Summary: The energy (Chi) in this book can help heal your spirit. Review: I love this book. I am a Chi Gung master and a Shaman and I have found that Caroline's book has truly helped me in my healing work with plants, animals, and people. Please read this book, it can change your life and help you to learn to heal yourself as well as gently encourage you to share your healing energy and love with others.
Rating: Summary: This is a revolutionary book full of rare wisdom. Review: I have found this book to be one of the few that has had a profound impact on my life. Each page related to my situation and brought me great insight. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in developing and nurturing their spirit. I have deep respect for Caroline Myss.
Rating: Summary: Makes a great deal of sense Review: Although some people might find Myss' transcultural correlations hard to swallow, I don't think that's her point: the chakras and the Tree of Life aren't necessarily "literally" true, but they show convincingly that people from a wide variety of cultural and religious contexts have arrived at the same underlying truths about the body/mind connection. And her interpretations of the causes of various illnesses make great sense to me because I've seen plenty of this among my relatives and friends, e.g., someone who had a fatal heart attack shortly after suffering a personal and professional defeat -- thus literally "dying of a broken heart"! Another thing that impressed me is that Myss succesfully avoids what Joan Borysenko calls "New Age guilt," i.e., "illness means that you're spiritually deficient." She points out that the causes of physical illness are complex and there isn't a simple one-to-one correspondence between the body and the spirit; furthermore, spiritual healing can and should take place even if the person doesn't recover from the physical illness. I also heartily concur with her remarks on "woundology." I've seen far too many people who have made "recovery" the focus of their entire existence. To me, that's just exchanging one addiction for another, and if a person can't get beyond the whole issue they'll be stuck there forever. All in all, this is an enlightening and helpful book, and I heartily recommend it.
Rating: Summary: INTERESTING CORRELATION OF JUDAO/CHRISTIAN/WICCA. Review: The chakras, sacraments, and tree of life are compared and related to each other with insight into how each system parallels the other. With this, the author attempts to give the reader some sense of power over how to mentally "overcome" whatever is draining their power and energy, so that it may be "called back" to them and used for their benefit. Interesting reading, the tape is well narrated and not bogged down or too long, and some new material is presented as food for thought. Good use of your time to listen to this one.
Rating: Summary: Change your life reading Review: Never have I read such a powerful book. My life was changed instantly. Within ONE day of finishing it I did something I should have done YEARS ago. I have never felt so free or so empowered. It was the answer to all of the questions I have been asking God to give me and it was crystal clear. As the author says, once you read it and come to understand it you will never look at life in the same way again.
Rating: Summary: A life changing read. Review: I was in a state of complete confusion and a friend of mine recommended this book to me. I thought she was crazy, I now have a very different view. It is certainly a treat when books of this standard are published.
Rating: Summary: The body is unrefined Spirit. Review: Caroline Myss lucidly explains the direct connection between the dis-ease of the Soul and the disease of the physical body.. Her work continues the pioneering work undertaken by Dr. Maxwell Cade in his "The Awakened Mind" but puts it more succinctly for the present day reader. Another book I have recently come across which takes Myss and Cade's work further is the excellent "The Autobiography..." by Richard G. Patton, which takes the Spiritual point of view - looking DOWNwards as opposed to Myss' - which takes the physical point of view looking UPwards. I believe these authors are presenting two faces of the same coin. So, do you want to look up or down? The body is UNREFINED Spirit! Well deserved success with this book.
Rating: Summary: A Most Enlightening Book. Review: This is one of the most enlightening books I've ever read. She put a lot of things in perspective for me, and I have a much better understanding about life, heath, and spirituality. This is a most highly recommended book.
Rating: Summary: A vocabulary for linking spirit to material worlds. Review: I was fortunate enough to be studying with Caroline when this book was published and recieved one of the first 10 copies. A compilation of a lifetime of study into the relationships between the spiritual and material worlds, Caroline's success is due to her ability to provide a rich and concise vocabulary that links the two. A generation beyond the numerous guilt producing and downright whacky early "new age" books attempting to explain the relationship between disease and the spirit, this book doesn't provide simplistic solutions to infinately complex problems like "why do I have aids/cancer/etc.". Instead it calls the individual spirit into the mystical journey of self examination and growth, which at times, creates by-products common man calls miracles. I'm anxiously awaiting the next book.
Rating: Summary: Life changing book Review: This book was a eye opener for me and at last brought spiritual peace to a Catholic upbringing. Since I am in physiclal pain right now it would be great to use Caroline's intuitive abilities or have more info on availability of medical intuitives. Looking forward to reading your second book.
