Rating: Summary: Misleading introduction Review: Some years ago, I was invited to join a group dabbling with hypnosis, etc. Being completely new to this type of experience, I was amazed that I could hold someone's hands, close my eyes, and see a vision of the person's body, with each area (chakra zone) in a different colour. I could also see problems in the person's body - for example, gout showed up as little sickles in the feet (this some months before gout was in fact diagnosed). Then as happens, I drifted out of this group and lost contact with this type of practice. So, when I received this book as a present and read that Caroline intended to teach the reader how to become intuitive, I was rather exited - thinking that I should be able to better understand my latent abilities and under her guidance, rekindle and strengthen them. Well, the book is interesting in the way it brings various schools of thought together, but the guidance promised in the introduction was not forthcoming - at the end of each chapter, is a bunch of questions about the reader, but no guidance how he should rectify any of the problems he identifies in himself. Later there is a very small piece on meditating to locate energy loss, but no detail to guide the reader. I have spent an absolute fortune over the years on personal growth material, and have come to the conclusion that in almost every case the author is motivated more by greed than a higher motive to help humanity. Each book leaves the reader feeling, 'The author certainly has some new information - I think I've almost got it - maybe if I buy another book it will become clear.' And so they go, never ever putting the full story in one book, always leaving the reader a feeling of incompleteness, and causing the reader to clammer for the next book and the next and the next. I do not doubt Caroline's talent or authenticity, but I do question the motivation behind the book. Caroline came across as straight and honest, but the bottom line is, her book does not deliver on its promise. But who knows, maybe her next one will, or maybe the one after that.............
Rating: Summary: Faith wihout walls Review: This book allows you to have faith without walls. The book Encounter with A Prophet removes the walls. I recommend both books.
Rating: Summary: A textbook for life... Review: I told a former colleague, who happens to have multiple sclerosis, about this book because I loved it so much. She is very private about her condition, so I thought the book would help her to know that she plays a part in her illness and healing. It might soothe her in some way and at the same time, help her to take control in her spiritual and physical well-being. It did just that. She did buy it and even called me to tell me how much it has helped her. We still don't talk about her condition, but it doesn't seem to be necessary for either of us. I am grateful to Caroline Myss for knowing she had to write Anatomy of the Spirit. I think that this book has given me a life-changing understanding about myself, life, and how we were created and how the human body and the spirit are connected. Caroline Myss has given us a wonderful gift by sharing her knowledge.
Rating: Summary: An excellent mind development tool Review: I have started working with the suggestions in this book with results in a very short time. It is simple to understand and extremely thought provoking. I highly recommend it to anybody wishing to understand more about themselves and the healing processes that are very important in our lives.
Rating: Summary: Superb introduction to the psychic body Review: I credit Carolyn Myss (and this book and her tapes, "Energy Anatomy") with giving me a solid and thorough understanding of the Chakra system. As a medical clairvoyant, she demonstrates how energy medicine, far from being a new age fad, is truly on the cutting edge of healing. By the way, there's a great, extensive interview with Dr. Myss in Nina L. Diamond's "Voices of Truth: Conversations with Scientists, Thinkers, and Healers."
Rating: Summary: Energy First! Review: Have you ever walked into a house and gotten a funny feeling that something was wrong? Some kind of "bad energy" left over from an argument or perhaps someone had died? Ever get a "wierd vibe" from someone? Caroline Myss's continuing exploration into the human energy fields is a wonderful validation of what many have already experienced but were never able to clearly conceptualize. It's a relief when someone can do that for us (Hey, I'm not crazy!). Once over this stalling point, we can move forward and explore these areas of human experience more constructively. Caroline's main thrust in this book is the energy flow through the body and how it relates to physical health, and a detailed description of the quality of the energy at each chakra level. She uses the Jewish Tree Of Life and the Christian sacraments as symbolic representations of the qualities at these vibrational levels. Caroline describes in general how the energy flow at the various chakra levels can be disrupted and the subsequent consequences to health in that part of the body. Anyone who is interested in the healing arts, especially the fields of energy medicine, will find this book invaluable.

Rating: Summary: Eyeing Insight Review: Carolyn Myss, in her audiotapes and books, has helped me create such honesty with myself towards my life. Never before has an author touched me at the core of my being. I am challenged, I am provoked, I am understanding more and more what it means to live "Essence." The energetic age is upon us, and being conscious is what it's all about.
