Rating: Summary: Excellent book of Facts Review: This book is what the liberals do not want you to read. It exposes their cunning tactics and tells the truth about many events in history.
Rating: Summary: From Coulterville, CA Review: Ann Coulter's "Treason" leaps from every page. She simply nails liberals to their own cross...one of lies, treachery, and...treason. It is liberals who must now bear it, and Ms. Coulter cannot be faulted for daring to set their record straight. The words are spit out with humor, passion, and venom (venom may be what it takes), and the spittle is sweet upon your cheek. Ms. Coulter has a big mouth and knows how to use it.
Rating: Summary: McCarthyism Reborn!!! Review: Ann Coulter has become one of the lead dogs in the ever increasing pack of right wing hounds, baying their distorted world view and pouncing with slathering jaws on anyone they view as their enemy, which basically means anyone who doesn't share that world view. This style of attack dog politics had its modern beginnings with the witch hunts of Senator Joe McCarthy in the early 1950s, so it's appropriate that Ms Coulter spends so much of her time defending Tailgunner Joe.Beginning with the Cold War and running up to the present, Ms Coulter distorts history beyond recognition. She conveniently forgets that liberals were the earliest advocates of a hard line policy towards Communism, while conservatives were demanding a return to isolationism. She ignores the countless lives damaged by McCarthy's allegations and the strong leadership provided by liberals in the 1960s and 1970s as the Cold War continued. In her haste to condemn those she obviously despises, she overlooks the strong support many liberals have given the Gulf War and the War on Terrorism. I suspect that Ms Coulter, in common with her former friend and fellow attack dog David Brock, is primarily motivated by the desire to earn a dishonest buck or two. Mr. Brock has grown weary of his career as a right wing hatchet man and written a confessional: Blinded by the Right. I trust that someday a similar work will be forthcoming from Ms Coulter. Until then, I can only paraphrase Robert Welch's famous rebuke to Joe McCarthy: "Have you no sense of decency, ma'am, at long last?"
Rating: Summary: Super-charged and right on target Review: Ann Coulter nails the liberals and the left for their smug indifference to America and their constant siding with America's foes. While pretending just to be smarter than the rest of ordinary America, what the left and the liberals have been again and again are dupes of every America-hating dictator to come along in the last 50 years. You name the dicatator and she'll find the examples where liberals stood up for him and cast doubt on America's goals. As for Liberals and lefties, theirs is a sad record, and it's one Ann has carefully documented. The subjects sad, but Ann's mockery is the best cure. Maybe even one or two liberals will consider why they hate flag-waving Americans, Reagan, Bush, anti-communism, and anti-terrorism. Maybe.
Rating: Summary: Delightful Conservative Refreshment Review: I had serious doubts if Ann could top her "Slander," book. I was wrong. This book is a refreshing breath of fresh air and truth in the midst of the pollution and lies of the overly vocal Liberal/Democratic hand-wringing, weak-kneed, WASP, coffee klatsch groups that established squatter's rights on college campi, the network "news," and in the "newsrooms" of papers in larger American cities. She is bound to be reviled for exposing, once again, the facts that destroy one liberal lie after another. I was particularly enchanted by her use of historical events and current event comparisons (e. g., Ken Starr versus Joe McCarthy). It is full of biting wit, is well researched, and is a carefully and logically defended work.
Rating: Summary: Fantasy Review: This book is a mixture of fantasy and facts. The author has used her bias to twist the facts. I will not be surprised if she wrote a book against civil right movement.
Rating: Summary: from a former Russian Review: Hey, Ann right on! I am from Russia and everything you say resonates with me - we CANNOT let the liberals get away with their hate for America. You are awesome, keep on keeping on! Love ya much. Alex in Michigan (formerly of Gulag)
Rating: Summary: Brainless Review: It is fashionable these days to take an outrageous thesis and present it as an entirely reasonable argument, and then to trash anyone who disagrees with that thesis as stupid or unpatriotic. This book fits that description entirely. Anyone who defends McCarthyism is either too young to remember how horrible it was or looking to make a fast buck. Here, the author is both too young and too greedy to care about McCarthyism. Instead, she has completely sold out to the establishment, declaring her love for Republican administrations and all of society's repressive institutions, including the military. Books like this are all too common these days, and it feeds into the right wing echo chamber that now passes for intellectual thought in 2003. But any perusal of this book confirms this junk for what it is. Brainless diatribe catering to an audience that wants to be told that its ignorant, ill-thought out views were right all along.
Rating: Summary: A great book! Review: Simply put, Ann Coutler backs up her writing with well documented research. The book is a thoughtful arrangement off known facts which many people would rather had never seen the light of day. Ann is a wisecracker, but that's what makes her writing so entertaining. It's amazing that so many people think that they can disregard facts and events because they loathe the messenger. I bought "Treason" through Amazon, and have read "Slander" as well. ... Whatever side of the aisle you are on, you cannot deny that Ann Coutler knows what she is talking about.
Rating: Summary: Watch out! There be witches about... Review: ...Once again, by innuendo, quotes out of context, misquotes, and outright distortions, Coutler proves that she is a disgrace to this country. Perhaps the very fact that she attempts to defend Joseph McCarthy's antics in this book is the most perverse of her rants. Perhaps she would like to start up the Salem witch trails again and burn all liberals at the stake. It's ashame this drivel passes for intelligent commentary in today's world. How sad! But, I would say this, if anyone has become traitors to the American Dream, it's the right wing (though I may be kidding for the most part). Really, it's about time each side stop hurling epithets at each other, and start having a serious open dialog about their differences, or this country is going to go down the tube (Unfortunately, Coutler would label me a traitor merely for staying that last sentence).
