Summary: Wonderful
Review: From the first few lines of narrative, this book had me. The prose is so descriptive I was pulled into the time and place Frazier seems so familiar with. The character development is so rich as to be almost overpowering. I'm so glad I spent the extra money for the unabridged cassettes...it would be a shame to have missed any of this. As for Frazier's narrative, it was a bonus to hear him read his own work in his quiet, unobtrusive way, without voice-change for all of the many characters. In a way I think he is saying there is a common denominator to all the people we come to know in this novel not to be undermined with devices of theatrics. I would urge anyone to either read or listen to this wonderful book.

Summary: A 5* review
Review: Cold Mountain was a slow read and that is normally a turn off for me. This book however I loved. It was a love capturing war story, a journey to find oneself, a change in a person to save herself, and a friendship made. You see the story through the eyes of the characters. You see their fears, hatred, and even thier love. Every detail was carefully described by the author and left for your mind to imagine.

Summary: dissapointed
Review: I read Cold Mountain and I was dissapointed in how it ended. The book had me for most of the beginning(even though it dragged a little at some points), but at the end, after Inman traveled for so long and endured so much, for him to just die before Ada and he had a chance to have a life together! It ruined the book for me.

Summary: Cold Moutain- 2 stars
Review: I thought Cold Mountain was very boring. The book was better in the beginning but towards the end, it only got worse. When Inman was the main character in the chapters they were boring and Inman only walked. When Ada was the main character they were at least a little bit more exciting. I give it 2 stars.

Summary: 3 stars for Cold Mountain
Review: Cold Mountain is a very slow book in the beginning. As you get farther into it, it gets faster and has more dialouge. There are very few people that talk throughout the book which makes it seem a lot longer than it actually is. I really didn't like the ending all that much because there were so many other chances that it could have happened and it didn't so you wouldn't think that it would ever happen, but it does.

Summary: Worst ending in the world
Review: I almost completely hated this book it was to boring, it took two paragraphs just to describe a tree, it was too drug out. I didn't completely hate it though. That's why I gave it three stars. The letters are what kept me in it. I only wanted to see how Ada and Inman ended up, and of course it has to have the worst ending in the whole world. I read the book for Honors English 11 and we read the ending out loud. My teacher ran out of time and it ends all wrong. It should end like a Disney movie Happily ever after, but no it's all wrong. When my teacher finally finished reading it and I wanted to kill myself (not really I was just upset) it had me going the eight plates, and there still together, then Inman and Ada's daughter comes in. I think the drug out discriptions and the ending ruined the book, that's why I gave it a 3.

Summary: My Review For Cold Mountain
Review: Cold Mountain is an awesome book. The way the book drags information out about Ada and Inman's relationship is really suspenseful. The whole story can be described as being like an onion. Each chapter carefully pulls away a layer of skin, until finally in the end you get to the heart of it all. Ada can be described as a bitter person who is scared of having her heart broken. She pushes away all love leaving herself vulnerable to everything. After being left alone to tend to her farm, it's then that she realizes how she treated Inman and how much she really does love him. Inman is a kind-hearted gentleman. Inman's whole reason for living is to get back to Ada. All through his journey back home his every thought is on Ada. The love he holds for her is like no other. The book is honestly a very slow reading novel. One page in Cold Mountain seems like ten in any other book. The fact that it's slow just adds more suspense to the book. If you start off the book and don't like it-keep reading. It's gets a lot better in the end.

Summary: my Cold Mountain review
Review: I had to read Cold Mountain for my honors 11 English class. I would have never chosen this book on my own, but by time I got to the end, I really got into it. If I hadn't read it for class, I probably wouldn't have finished it, but I'm glad I did. The descriptions were long, but beautiful, and you have to give yourself time to enjoy it.

Summary: Review of Cold Mountain
Review: I read Cold Mountain for my English class. It was basically a good story but it moved really slow. The plot was there but it was a struggle for me to stay awake. The romance between Inman and Ada seemed so true, the ending is sad but you will love it for being that way. I rate the book with three stars because it caught my intrest but if i wouldent of had to read it, i would have stopped after the first chapter.

Summary: Cold Mountain Review
Review: Cold Mountain was a really good book. The way that the author conveyed Ada and Inmans Relationship without giving too much information out right away. Each chapter opened a new door into the lives of the main charectars. The ending was really good and totally unexpected. The book was well written and even though at times it was it seemed like it was all detail in the end it was worth it.
