Rating: Summary: Excellent lessons and audio CD's Review: Excellent lessons and audio CD's - Very Highly Recommended.
Rating: Summary: Excellent refresher Review: I lived in Japan off and on over the course of 15 years, and I formally studied Japanese (in college or at a private language academy) for a little over two years. Even so, my Japanese was a combination of "perfect" and "invented". This book proved to be an excellent refresher course for me, and my Japanese improved remarkably. I have no problems with kana, but my kanji knowledge was limited to only about 600 -- I was reminded of a number of kanji I should have known, and learned quite a few more that I hadn't known before. Japanese for Busy People III offers a wonderful blend of review and new material, with plenty of reading, vocabulary work, practice of both writing kanji and grammar work/substitution drills. Explanations of grammar are written in English and romaji, but the majority of the text is kana and kanji, with furigana where appropriate. I highly recommend this book, (and books I and II for those in the earlier levels of Japanese study) for self-study.

Rating: Summary: top of the shelf Review: I'm a person who has been learning japanese for 6 months by himself. I've read tens of books and listened to many tapes and CDs. Among all the products I have, I believe the set of Japanese For Busy People is wonderful. Especially, thanks to their CDs (which help a great deal),I'm now able to speak pretty good Japanese,in such a short time. What I would recommend the pals who like to learn Japanese is that first finish reading the books and review them all by listening to the CDs. Conversations on CDs are so clear to listen. There are no pauses after the sentences for you to repeat but,for those who always keep on listening to the CDs, after some time, those pauses might become really boring. To cut the long story short folks, Japanese For Busy People set should always be on top of other study books and CDs.
Rating: Summary: Practice grammer pattern Review: The content includes opening dialogue, practice, and short dialogue from the textbook Japanese for busy people. Merits of this product: 1.Pronounciation is excellent. 2.Practice section is my favorite part of this product. By listening CD , I can practice the pattern change in my mind instead of relying on reading the book. This is helpful for my study because pattern change of verb is one of most difficult in learning Japanese. There are quite some practices in Japanese for Busy People. Yet, no answers are provided in the textbook or workbook. So these CD gives me a chance to correct errors I could make. Lack of repeat made me to stop CD constantly, rewound, and played it again in order to understand the context and try to imitate what the CD said. Demerits: 1.Opening dialogue only be read once at normal speed. For students learning this material, such speed is a bit too fast. If the material can be repeated at slower speed, then it will give me a chance by listening and speaking. 2.No vocabulary. Although vocabulary is inside the opening dialogue, some other language products provide another section by just saying those vocabularies again. In short, the product has excellent quality. It serves the need for practicing conversation, listening, and pattern change that can't be provided by reading the book alone. However, there are certainly some places the product can be improved. So, I gave it 4 stars.
Rating: Summary: A Good Aid to Learning Japanese Review: This CD set allows you to hear the Japanese which is taught in Japanese for Busy People III and helps learners hear the Japanese phrases and grammar they're learning in each chapter. Even though I live in Japan and hear the language every day the CDs are helpful because I can get the language repeated till I understand it. I like using the CDs better than the tapes as it's easier to study the lesson I'm on without rewinding a tape and trying to get the right spot.
