Rating: Summary: Should be required reading for every US citizen Review: If only one of our two presidential candidates would cut out the BS and lay it on the line like Bill has in this book. But let's face it, not many spoiled, self-indulgent, self-minded US citizens wants to hear the truth - it might interfere with their comfy, materialistic existence (BTW, I am a staunch Republican).
The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is for one, Bill used a bit too much profane language - not nearly the filth that came out of Al Frankin's mouth but enough to not allow my 16 year-old to listen to it any longer. And our teenagers are the ones who SHOULD be listening to this because they are our future, they are the vehicles that Bill's long-term suggestions will be implemented, if ever.
The other gripe I have is with Bill's very narrow view of Christianity. What you see on tv in the form of evangelists is not truly representative of real Christianity and by many of his remarks, it seems as if this is the only Christian source he references. That and bible verses quoted out of context. When Bill has sat down and read the Bible for himself or attended a God-filled church, then I'll take his remarks into consideration. It's not me he's going to have to answer to someday.
Oh, yes, minus one star for also being Michael Moore's friend; anti- "The Man" Michael who lives in a 2 million dollar home and only travels by way of chauffeur-driven limousine.
Rating: Summary: excellent positive propaganda Review: This collection of 33 WWII-ish posters range in subject matter from terrorism to the drug war and America's love affair with (big) cars. Each is accompanied by a one- or three-page Maher rant and often by a reprint of an inspirational vintage poster.I found the posters themselves as well as the commentary quite moving and Maher, often strident and sometimes bullying, nevertheless reveals a heart that loves America.
